I've seen philippine eagle in person when I went to the philippines for a tour. Its crazy because the eagle is actually so much bigger in person than the pics and videos shows above. Truly a majestic creature.

I live in Pampanga Luzon I once saw this Eagle flying across the sky, im just a high school student that time, we decided to cut classes and go to Abacan river me and my friends , while walking in the river we saw this huge bird flying so high and you know it is not a simple bird because the altitude its flying was very high and the wings of the bird was so wide and steady. i still remember that time me and my classmate was in awe. these eagle are so rare so seeing them specially flying freely above was very very rare.

As an American, I'd bet my money on the Philippine eagle. Both majestic birds on their own merit. While the bald eagle population has rebounded in years , the Philippine eagle is very much in decline and may cease to exist if deforestation in Mindanao continues unabated.

One of the reasons why Philippine eagles are endangered excluding the deforestation is that they're loyal to their partners, if one dies the other half would rather stay solitary, 2nd is they only produce 1 to 2 eggs and the chick will not depart from their parents for at least 2 years, 3rd is that they're very territorial and the land mass they own must be quite big.

The guide said to us that usually the male offers his food to the female and waits to let her eat first. The Philippine Eagle is a fantastic and beautiful bird. Unfortunately they faced near extinction due to overpopulation.
Only few can survive in the forest and most of the remaining birds are held in captivity. It is sad to know that our national bird is dying from human selfishness, but I am still glad that some people are putting their efforts to save these birds from extinction. Kudos to them.

I'm a filipino. I got to admit that the bald eagle has more majestic looking features but the Philippine eagle has the real eyes of a hungry predator and surely wins by its size. I got to say, 50/50 both are beautiful and strong creatures.
I have once watched documentary from the 60s where scientist measured the grip of Harpy eagle who lives in South America which was 200psi....that means if eagle would grab your hand it would crush your bones. Since it is a smaller eagle than those two I can imagine the magnificence of this eagle species.

Thankfully singapore kept a few to breed and will probs release them back to the philippines soon

You miss one other characteristic of the Philippine eagle, is that once they mate with a female, they will stay with that female for the rest of they're life, not looking for a new female to mate with and also helps the female raiseing there chick. It's quite beautiful isn't it their so loyal when it comes to love, and that's why the Philippine eagle was seen hunting with partner's.

i've seen a PH eagle once and it's surprisingly very large seeing it in person, it landed on our roof and does an eye to eye contact with me before flying away again. I was starstruck and up till this day, i admire it.

The Philippine eagles have been protected for more than 30 years now. Their numbers are growing albeit very slowly because they lay just one egg every 2 years!

Im Filipino and i love the looks both of these egles. the bald Eagle looks its so millitaristic the Philippine Eagle on the otherhand looks very prehistoric, the beak alone reminds me of those beak of Feathery dinosaurs. im lucky to see Philippine eagle in person, non in the cage but in the sky. I live in Pampanga Luzon I once saw this Eagle flying across the sky, im just a high school student that time, we decided to cut classes and go to Abacan river me and my friends , while walking in the river we saw this huge bird flying so high and you know it is not a simple bird because the altitude its flying was very high and the wings of the bird was so wide and steady. i still remember that time me and my classmate was in awe. these eagle are so rare so seeing them specially flying freely above was very very rare.
