    I love that he's just going manic during the breaks 😂. I'm a mom/coach and it's great to see the reality. Great vids!

      Yeah, the part where the kid starts doing Fortnite dances while the coach is explaining is very true to life

      Melts my heart. Your a cool older brother! You guys are so lucky to have each other.
      My oldest son was in high school when my youngest was 7 also. (keep working with him, my 7 y/o couldn't catch a ball if it was in his lap, now he is the starting catcher on his 12U team)
      Much love and respect to you young man!

    Bro, these videos are truly gold. We have been using your coaching for a year, and the progress has been unreal. It's interesting that with all of the knowledge and resources available, most parents are still depending on the coach to teach the basics. I truly appreciate you dropping the knowledge on us.

    You are a great teacher/coach and now we see that you are a great Dad, as well. Patience is a virtue and you have demonstrated it to all parents watching. Thank You.

    Thanks for posting this - super helpful tips. I’ve been using this with my U-8 team and it’s amazing how confident they get after a few rounds of tosses.
    Would love to see a hitting video for this age group as well. I try to keep it simple with a good stance and the encouragement to just swing hard.

    Have a 5 year old almost 6. Just started working on drills. Safety and fun I’ve realized from your videos are important. Your son is definitely normal with ants in his pants. He seems to be enjoying putting in the work. As soon as you start the drill he’s all business. Great father son combo! Taking notes. Thanks for sharing.

    Thank you. Going to try and get my 7 year old on it based off of your instruction. It was very helpful.
    Something else based off of hitting or throwing would be helpful as well.
    I think I learned mainly by watching baseball in 80s as my Dad was a plumber and didn’t know much.

    I am coaching and have definitely used the "give the ball a high five" to help them remember to keep their fingers up. I have seen that about half the players once a glove gets on shift the way they catch to somewhat sideways (i do this naturally too) for most balls in their wheelhouse. Would you focus on correcting this or if they're comfortable let it be and focus more on the fingers up/down for those balls above shoulders/below belt?

    What glove does your son use?

  • @joshzysman3451
    @joshzysman3451 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    By watching this video I realized why there are no lefty catchers. And it has nothing to do with the throws to the bases. It has to do with the plays at the plate. Since for whatever reason most players always slide to the catchers left. A right handed catcher is never reaching across his body to tag a runner out. In fact almost every throw would be a swipe tag. However a lefty will almost always be reaching across his body after the catch to tag out the runner. Or even have to back hand catch the ball more often than a righty would

      I would go very easy ball. Like a wiffle ball. I would go slow and controlled environment and just force her to do it over and over and over again until she feels comfortable
