I bought a China jazz copy, it's an excellently made bass, just had to upgrade the bridge and pickups and set it up correctly, it will last out my lifetime with weekly playing cost £250 , with upgrades
The bass that shall remain nameless. When you did that one of mine it turned out "amazing" . I really like the coil tapping feature on that one. You're right about the wood, as it seasons the frets move around a bit. The one you did for sounds just great and i haven't explored all the tones that are living in that instrument. What is the point of showcasing a bass that you cannot ID so we cannot buy?
The only problem with those Chinese bases is that the neck is not on an angle and because it's not on an angle it doesn't feel comfortable playing
