I bought one of those off ebay, I stripped off the finish, sanded off the fender logo, dyed it magenta, put on a new nut and tuners, I leveled down the frets put on a tone monster preamp sand blasted the bridge painted it black then I put guitar madness rail pick ups in it and some DR black beauties and named it the Rat Bastard bass, I also had to route out a cavity for the battery and route out the control cavity to get the preamp to fit. It’s now my bar gig bass. It’s great for what I use it for. But for some reason the bare wood had a hard time taking the dye but I got it. I absolutely enjoyed it now 😊.
