Defect Emotiva A-300, noise amplifier.

- Amplifier Emotiva A-300. I started listening to it and after an hour of his work at medium volume, noise appeared inside the amplifier. This noise comes from the fans. The fans themselves do not spin, but only twitch in place, and their motors make a nasty noise and squeak, which is clearly audible, especially in the pauses between tracks.

Сами вентиляторы не вращаются, а только дергаются на месте, а их моторы издают неприятный шум и писк, который отчетливо слышен, особенно в паузах между треками.

These amps perform well but are plagued with these hissing noises. I bought the A500 and within an hour the hissing started. I sent it back at my expense and decided to try the A700.
Within a half hour; the A700 started hissing! Emotiva knows something is wrong and they should fix this immediately. The amps work well but that hissing noise is too distracting! Buyer beware!
Just bought one of these and it makes the same noise. It sounds like coil noise. I don't think it's the fan motor. It seems like emotiva has little defects and quirks like this because the other item I bought from them has some issues as well.
I just swapped my fans out of emotiva and replaced them with noctua 60 mm with ulna adapter. Expensive upgrade, but now it's dead silent...the notebook is more noisy now.
Just fyi, the default fans in emotiva are 70x15mm @ 12 v with a 2 pin connector. They are fixed on a rail with screws that are 2 cm long. So if you plan to change them make sure you have everything you need.
I wasn't able to find any 70 mm fan that was under 10 db at max speed thus going for the 60 mm one (80 mm won't fit as I measured inside the case)

I see them at Newegg for 25$ a piece I wouldn't say that is expensive. 30$for two
@@gibluap if you consider it's 10% of the price of the amp I would say it's expensive...probably why emotiva went with 3$ a pair of fans rather than really silent ones. And you lose the warranty in the process as well :))

The fact that even if you get a defected amp and you send it back for a refund you still have to eat the return cost which is bullshit. I would not buy from a company with a shady return policy like emotiva.
У меня такой-же шум :-(( Но вентиляторы не крутятся и не дергаются. Этот звук идет явно не от них, а от радиодеталей. Шум появляется через некоторое время (примерно час), на половине громкости.
I'm having the same problem, did replacing or disconnecting the fans solve the problem for you?
I returned this amp to the seller and got another one, it had the same problem. I gave it to the seller, too, and I don't want to get involved with it anymore.
Im only just unplugged them, the amp is cold enough without any fan.
This is a good solution to this problem!
May not necessarily void the warranty if you had to send it in for warranty go ahead and put the old fans back in before you send it back
I didn't send him back. This amplifier was bought for my brother. We just turned off the fans in it. It doesn't listen to music at high volume, so I'm not worried about the amplifier overheating.
Андрей и что это за шум? Можете что то объяснить свои мысли, вы отдали его на проверку в магазин или что сделали в итоге? У меня эмотива а-300 пока шумов не наблюдаю никаких... Фуф я увидел что еле еле колеблются вентиляторы видимо на них подаётся напряжение, но моторчики почему то не крутятся, отсюда и шум...но это я так думаю. Можно просто открыть верхнюю крышку и отключить проводки подачи напряжения на вентиляторы шум должен пропасть.
Шум идет от вентиляторов. Причем сами лопасти не крутятся, а только дергаются на месте, как будто на вентиляторы подается слишком малый ток, которого не хватает для их нормального старта. Пробовал добавлять уровень громкости, вентиляторы включаются и начинают крутится, шум при этом пропадает. Но происходит это на уровне громкости, который очень не комфортный, слушать музыку на нем невозможно, это уже больше для дискотеки подходит. А как только убавляю громкость до комфортной, через 15-20 минут вентиляторы перестают крутится и снова появляется этот противный звук внутри усилителя. На спокойных композициях, его слышно и он мешает слушать музыку, а в паузах между треками вообще жесть.
@@AndreiMezenov Я думаю проблема решается просто просто их надо отключить, вытащив проводки из платы с которой идёт подача питания на них, т.к. они нужны ТОЛЬКО для режима работы полной мощности для залов и дискотек, именно поэтому эти вентиляторы для квартиры совершенно бесполезны. Удачи напишите что в итоге сделали и какое приняли решение по а-300 и С Наступающим НГ.!!!

Don't let this discruge you away from emotiva they make a great product I've had brand new audio equipment that was bad out of the box - yours could of been damaged in shipping but most likely the vendor emotiva uses may had a new worker or their vendor could have had some bad electric motors must call customer service at Emotive their awesome people be cool with your problem and I bet ya they help you out Dan laufgmen built his company up on brining true high fi to people like me who can't afford 10k speakers and audio front ends sorry about your trouble if you lived close to me I'd come fix it
I wrote in Emotiva about this problem. They don't want to admit it, pretend it's normal. So I got rid of this amp. If they want more fans, let them care about the quality of their products.

@@marcgallant5270 I've drove my 703s pretty hard they drop down low also , the Emo has been pretty dependable I would like to tey some cheap upgrades though 😆
Поскольку вентиляторы у Andrei M никогда не вращались, а только дергались, предполагаю, что виновато реле, отвечающее за включение кулеров. От него же такой звук.
Вентиляторы включаются, и крутятся, если накрутить больше мощности. Но на таком уровне громкости слушать музыку не комфортно. Дискотеки я не устраиваю. ))
А на комфортном УГ они шумят и дергаются на месте.
У моего экземпляра А-300 вентиляторы не дергаются, и не включаются ни при какой громкости.
Через неделю получу свой А-300 из ремонта. Протестирую, отпишусь.
Интересно услышать что с A-300 после ремонта. Какие изменения компонент в схеме усилителя?
Damn I just got the A500 about a month ago and it is making this same noise and my return window expired 10 days ago. Now I'm stuck with it. I'm going to pull it out of the entertainment center.
I shouldn't have to change the fans out on new equipment.
There are many such cases in the world. Most likely, the Emotiva had a defective lot of goods that has this unpleasant noise. But they don't want to admit it.
I may cancel my order then they only have a 40 day warranty ? Wow I thought emotiva was good I new I should have got a pioneer
Dab0On it's easy to fix the fans just unplug it for st least a Couple of hours theirs utube videos on it can't believe your warranty ran out that fast yes you shouldn't have to fix something with in 40days time and I vant read German wish I could I work with a lot of Germans great people
