    I've had mine for about two years driving my Klipsch RP-280F mains off a Denon AVR-X4300H in a 7.2.4 setup. That Denon is a 125w/ch $1,600 AVR and this improved the clarity, dynamics, and punch of the mains, and it also allowed the Denon to run barely warm as opposed to hot even under very high volume levels. I can backup everything said in this video. This Emotiva BASX A-300 is as good or better any $1000 range two channel amp you can find.

      Yeah , I Like my Emotiva A-300 amp alot but the Emotiva PT-100 pre-amp and TA-100 Integrated amp/Pre-amp that I bought on Steve Guttenbergs review and i was really disappointed with both their performances compared to my My Pioneer Elite SX-N30, The Elite was levels above both Emotivas PT-100 and TA-100 so i didn't even review them , the interface and remote was awful! and both had that V shape sound signature .And I know i would have gotten alot of views if i would have video reviewed them, but i must keep an honest foundation for the channel. Because the channel belongs to the subscribers So i take no money from NO Company ! But the IOTAVX SA3/PA3 integrated amp power amp will drop DEC 7th A true BUDGET-FI-BANDIT 😆

    Emotiva discontinued the BASX A-300 (1 or 2 years ago), and replaced it with the BASX A2. Both of these power amps look almost identical front and rear. The difference is they downgraded the A-300 power spec. from 300 watts @ 4 ohms, to 250 watts @ 4 ohms for the A2. It's probably the same circuitry. Maybe they realized the 300 watt/4 ohm spec. was not accurate. I still want to try out an A2.

      Formaly A-300 Power Supply provides double 52V voltage, so the power output max on 4Ohms is
      (52/sqrt(2))^2 /4 giving 338W of power in each speaker w/o distorsion.
      But its transformer was less powerful to provide 2x300W for THD 0.1%, so the spec was THD 1%.
      But 2x300W and THD 1% was reachable.

I should have not done that , I should have reviewed the amp with the PT-100 which in more recent videos i have , This amp is on the cool side of netural decent bass midrange is not forward at all decent imaging for its price point still till this day i give it a 4.5 stars for 400.00 US its a kickass lil amp !

    • @cowboyflipflopped
      @cowboyflipflopped 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you're using speakers that can be bi-amped, it's worth it to get the TA-100 over the PT-100. It's the same pre-amp, but you can use the TA-100 to run the highs, and the A-300 to run the lows. It's just $100 more. So, you could get the T2+ towers, TA-100, and A-300 for $2200 all-in, and have something to blow anyone away.

    • @tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120
      @tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@cowboyflipflopped the Ta 100 is
      50 watts the A300 is 150 watts thats a big difference to use for biamping normally the rule is half the power of the larger amp 😃 You would want 'atleast" a 75 watt amp and an integrated amp used as a pre-amp adds alot of noise ! Just keeping it real !

    • @cowboyflipflopped
      @cowboyflipflopped 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 You may be right. But for some odd reason, it sounds great to me. I have tried using the TA-100 as just a preamp, and letting the A-300 handle the towers by itself. I also replaced the brass connectors between the binding posts with good 12ga wire, for that experiment. They sounded really good that way. But they definitely sound better using the TA-100's amp, too. I used to use the TA-100 with some HSU bookshelves, before upgrading with the towers and A-300. So, I'm building with what I had on hand. But, I would recommend this setup to anyone. Maybe it's not as good as it sounds, but I guess I'm not too worried about that.

      @@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 hi Tee-Jay, great review! I really love the passion and honesty of your channel, and I have some questions for you.
      Is it ok to connect a phone to the a-300 power amp directly via 3.5mm to RCA cable without using a preamp?
      Currently my phone is my only music source. I know it’s not ideal in terms of sound quality, and I don’t mind not having tone control and analog volume adjustment.
      Is it going to work? And will it cause any damage to the amp? Are there any other disadvantages? I tried to research online but couldn’t find the answer.

      @@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 I was thinking I'd buy a used UPA-1 for center channel amplification, when I can afford it and see the right deal. I do have a feeling that the line out voltage of my Integra DRX 3.1 might be below the needed input voltage to achieve full volume without clipping from both my emotiva amps. I'd like to keep my receiver and maybe buy something that will boost my preamp out voltages. When i used to mess with car stereos it was called a "line driver" i think. Or do I need some kind of pre amp that runs downstream from my receiver but upstream of the amp ? Any advice that you might care to throw my way on that would be much appreciated.
      By the way I *really* like the XPA-2 so far and can tell its going to be in my system a long time. I cant see getting rid of the a-300 either. If it weren't for the a-300's decreased dynamics ( when compared to the much more expensive xpa-2) I'd say in some ways it sounds as good or better to my ears than the XPA-2. If the a-300 ever does come out of my home theater it will either become my computer speaker amplifier or 2nd room channel system or..something, but its not leaving :).

    so a 4.7 for the Emotiva BasX A-300 and a 4.5 for the IOTAVX Stack??? Do you have a take on the IOTAVX SA 3(which I saw your review on) used as a pre-amp vs The Emotiva TA-100(used as a pre amp) or PA-100(same as TA-100, no amp... same DAC)??? with the reviews Ive read/ watched, Id say the reviewers lean towards the IOTAVX DAC(Wolfson) as the better sounding of the two... but nothing definitive... Thanks

    • @tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120
      @tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes the IOTAVX SA3 and complete STACK is atleast 2 levels above the Emotiva combination with The TA-100 integrated amp and the PT-100 Preamp with the emotiva BasX-A300 , I knew adventually this question was coming and i have to be honest, i was so upset that The Emotiva basX PT/TA 100 was not all that good compared to the actually a300 amp so much so i didnt review either TA/PT because i couldn't reccomend them at all, very thin sounding not enough meat on the bone the interface and remote was awful ! So yes the IOTAVX-STACK is much better ! Now i took the IOTAVX SA3 and used it as a dedicated Pre-Amp connected to the Emotiva BASX-A300 and i about fail over !! Still not as good as the complete STACK but maybe just a level or a half level behind the complete STACK .So the IOTAVX-SA3 will be a good upgrade for someone who has the TA-100 or PT-100 hooked up to the BasX A-300 😆 at work hope this was understandable

      Emotiva with their BasX line the amp is great I was not impressed with the analog devices 1955 built in DAC the IOTAVX-SA3 Has a much much better built in wolfson Dac. But thats my opion maybe someone else likes the Sound of the PT-100 or TA-100 but the remote and interface problems also kepted me from reviewing them and u know i would have gained more views and subscribers but i have to keep a honest foundation

    TJ, can this amp handle 2 pairs of 8 ohm bookshelf speakers. 1 pair of Elac Debut Reference speakers and 1 pair of Fluance Signature Series Surround HiFi Bookshelf speakers? I i tend to parallel connect these speakers which I do currently with my Denon DRA-800H Receiver. I just purchased a A300. I intend to play with a IOTAVX SA3 preamp. I like it that it is made in the USA. I am toying with ordering a IOTAVX PA3 Amp to see which may be better. For the record, the Emotiva is more powerful, includes free shipping, but does charge sales taxes. The IOTA does not impose taxes But does charge for shipping at British pound rates (IOTA is a British company). Said and done, the Emotiva has slight edge in total costs , about $70 or so. I'm looking forward to the use in my stereo setup.

      @@christhomson9170 the 6007 is about a 25pounder and driving all chanels you get a real maybe 55watts but Marantz is pretty solid now if you had a Nr1607 slim Marantz i would say yeah go for it ,
      I mean yes you would have a lil more power and relieve stress off the marantz 6007 but whats really important is finding out what the preout for front left/right speaker is from the Marantz it self i have seen the preout voltage basically be to weak to drive a bigger amp properly Audioholics Gene breaksxthis down in one of his videos , And the thing is the Emotiva does not have a gain controller on their basx A-300 so you can't match the voltage output ! You really need a 2volts output from the preout of the marantz and alot of times you'll get like 1.5-1.8 and this will not drive the Emotiva amp properly and when this happens to pep their like this amp sucks when in reality the voltage gain output isn't enough if you can go for the Marantz 7025 that one should match your amp maybe you can find one on sale their about 799.00 new i know twice that of the Emotiva but i keep it real dont want you to spend money and then be disappointed !

      Honestly the amp sounds best warmed up , but its a doubled edge sword , the life of an amp depends on how hot its ran in its lifetime , espically the output stage transitors go bad over time due to heat thats why thier mounted on a heat sink ,let your amp warm up about 20 to 30 min before playing thats what i try to do , But yeah after running my Integra amp for about 30min it sounds much better but always leaving it on might not be a good idea, but i bet it sounds dang amamizing warmed up lol

    Hi, can I use audio jack onboard motherboard outputs to connect them to a "EMOTIVA BasX A-500" power amplifier? =>emotiva.com/products/a-500
    Motherboard is B450 AORUS PRO=> www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B450-AORUS-PRO-rev-10#kf
    Now I have an entry level AVR connected from GPU HDMI to AVR works fine but I want to upgrade to a bigger amp and not AVR., but my AVR don't have pre-outputs also I don't need all those bells and whistles it haves. PC software/hardware audio seems very improved noways compared with the past.
    Connection wise seems attainable for 5.0 setup, by connecting "3.5mm to 2-Male RCA Adapter Audio Stereo Cables".
    -3.5mm Male connector on one end (left and right output) and two Male RCA connectors on the other end.
    -3.5mm Male connector on one end (Surround right and left output) and two Male RCA connectors on the other end.
    -3.5mm Male connector on one end (Center and Sub output) and one Male RCA connector on the power amp(Center) and second RCA to active subwoofer if I will add in the future.
    If motherboard audio outputs working like "Pre-outputs" should work, have you tested any configuration like this before?
