I do not understand music theory very well. I can’t even read music, only tabs. I only know and use about 12 guitar chords. I learned what I have through watching other guitarists play, having a deep love for music of all genres except metal or rap, and this information somehow entered into my conscious and subconscious parts of my brain, and comes out as a familiar melody or tune, which I can’t explain. In some respects, music is something that you receive in your head, and immediately know if you like it or not. About 15 years ago, I decided I wanted to play guitar, and focus on Christian music only, and write songs. I asked the Lord for help. I consecrated it all to Him, to share my faith in song. So, without understanding music theory or formal training, He made it happen for me. Remember this: James 4:6, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” We must remember that striving for fame or individual recognition is for most, failure. Do what you do, to the glory of God alone. Soli Deo Gloria.
Thank you ❤❤
