really liked this vid. im thinking about picking up this exact model with the pocket worn gray bone. or maybe ill go with a wood version. Im leaning toward the gray bone because it has the carbon steel blade instead of the tru-sharp stainless. I prefer my blade to get a patina with use. adds some character

That is a very solid looking and practical Case knife. I would buy one used, as there is no way I would pay that price for one. At $40 or less (new or used, doesn’t matter) is well worth it.

great bargin! The Tribal Lock is a Tony Bose design. It makes a great pocket carry, I prefer a medium RR sheath.
For reference my hands are XXL.

Honestly, people need to stop expecting absolute perfection from these Case knives. The older ones were not perfect either - keep that in mind. I think the reality we are all grappling with nowadays is that you can buy Rough Riders that look very much like Case knives for half or a third of the price. Why?? Because the American worker is likely making more than the Chinese worker. The cost of living in the US is higher. A nice Rough Rider bone handled trapper is almost just as good as a bone handled Case trapper… and yes you will pay more for two reasons: 1) you are supporting the American worker and 2) you are paying for the name CASE on the blade. If you can’t deal with these economic realities, at least stop expecting the average $70+/- Case slip joint pocket knife to have the fit and finish of a $500+ custom made slip joint… At the end of the day, the modern Case product is very similar to what is being made overseas. I would still rather have a Case or a Buck made in USA knife than one made in China, but if you just need a knife to beat up and carry and budget is tight, get the cheaper knife and just move on with your life.
