      Sorry to tell you Zanar, but it’s not because some dude has been lifting for years that he’s beyond reproach. Especially since these greats have been pumping themselves full of roids for years, often doing absurd training that would result in injuries for most naturals. I know Yates is some kind of god to you British, but that clouds your judgment. Same with Arnold, I pretty much watched all his training videos and read his massive bodybuilding book, lots of the advice is basically wrong if scrutinised today, but Arnold got away with it by pumping full of roids and avoiding injury that way.

    • @yqafree
      @yqafree ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Nickboy395 I'm not discounting what you're saying in ways. But I think I would defend what I think he intended to mean by his comment, if my exegesis is correct.
      It seems that Zanar has criticized the kind of people that so often criticize others who have achieved greatness, regardless of roids or no roids, to talk about all kinds of distracting fitness philosophies or they make these "scientific" pontifications that take time away from productive training and the impressive results that a human can achieve.
      For examples to what I think we're critical of Peter Katcherian (might have spelled his last name incorrectly) often speaks to this and Geoffrey Verity Schofield also did in a video called "Typical Hardgainer Bullsh*t"
      And if you think about what was said in this video and those I referred you to, I think you can respect the dialectic that we're persuaded of, even as imperfect as it is.

    I think there's one reason why people criticize Dorian's method. It's because they never really train past failure each and every workout. Instead, they do high-volume workouts to fatigue the muscle but not really creating that muscle hypertrophy.

      @julianr8086 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@oldskoolbodybuildingroutin7178
      I was saying why he is being criticised. As long as you train smart and leave everything in the gym, following with a proper diet and recovery regiment you should in theory grow regardless of HIT or high volume (probably a combination of the two would yield the best results). Muscle building is an awful lot more than just workouts method , starting from genetics, lifestyle, supplements, anabolics etc… To assume that most of the hit people are small and volume people are big, is a poor comment nonetheless.

      It’s really not that great at all 😂 I think it’s abit embarrassing tbh. My 20yr old brother no where near his size does 45’s. I’m not saying it’s light but Jesus at least be able to get 10 out

    The thing with bending your arms when shrugging is a coordination thing, people with more coordination can shrug at the same time as forcing their arms to be straight. Most the time it doesn;t matter as Dorian said BUT if you are shrugging or dead lifting a huge weight it IS important to keep your arms straight unless you want to tear your bicep.

    Yates was the smartest bodybuilder to ever grace the sport. He took gear through his entire career and monitored every aspect of it with doctors on retainer to keep track of his vitals and numbers. Once he made his mark, and his money, he got off it and went about his life. Not many of the old guard are still around.
