Evolving The Self: From Nafs Al Ammara To Mutma'inna By Hajj Hassanain Rajabali

In this lecture Hassanain Rajabali discusses the 3 stages of the soul and how one should be striving to evolve the self to the highest stage.
Nafs Al Ammar is the commanding soul, the self that revolves around materialism and desires. It is the self that can misguide us into sins. "I do not think that I am free from weakness; all human souls are susceptible to evil except for those to whom my Lord has granted mercy. My Lord is certainly All-forgiving and All-merciful." Quran 12:53
Nafs Al Lawwama is the self critical soul, the self that is constantly proactively criticizing oneself and holds one accountable for their misdeeds. "I swear by the self-accusing soul." Quran 75:2
The highest stage of the soul we should strive for is Nafs Al Mutma'inna, the reassured soul, which is the self that attains peace and assurance without inclining towards sin. "O soul that art at rest!" Quran 89:27
He speaks about the existence of God and progressively seek to the truth and submit it. Then he speaks about Bibi Khadija A.S the wife of the Holy Prophet A.S and what we can learn from her.
