My instinct is that when the doctor said to count out bleem beans the prof should have counted out 3, given the doctor the bleemth one to hide in his hand then put the 4th one on the table with the other 3. That way the bleemth one is "elsewhere" unseen, not in another dimension but represented as being so.
I thought he was going to hold it on the underside of the glass table and tell them that "if this were to be a wooden table it would be unseen. our world is the wooden table."
Of your three short films this is my favourite. It feels fully fleshed out with a satisfying conclusion. The elevator scene was great.... really ramped up the suspense! The characters were interesting and engaging. I loved the cinematography and direction. If you accomplished this on a limited budget you're a film company's dream. You seem to have the full package. I hope you get head hunted soon.
Bleem represents a rotation out of 3-space. We have "0" - a point. Then "1" - a line. Then "2" - a plane. Then "3" - a volume, the three-dimensional space in which we live. But to get to "4" - a hypervolume stretching into the fourth dimension, the time dimension - we must rotate out of 3-space into 4-space, and that act of rotation is bleem. Bleem can be assigned a "value" of pi, denoting a complete rotation out of 3-space and back in, and that's why we can't normally see it. In the penultimate scene, the bleemth jellybean had had the third jellybean superimposed upon its point of return, so it couldn't rotate back into our space until the attendant took that third jellybean and left an open space for it to reappear.
I watched this for the first time 10 years after it was put out and I would rather watch this than most movies put out today. It had my jaw on the floor by the end.
Reminds me of "A Beautiful Mind" , absolute best short I've seen to date. I loved how the story came around and the sort of quantum physics were all interconnected.
Yes!! This is again one of the rare thriller/mystery shortfilms that give me the, what I call Shutter Island-feeling. Great story, great cinematography. This style is my favorite.
It's my all time favorite short film 💕 I have watched it many times over the years and it still makes my heart pound and my mind race. Thank you kindly for allowing me into your mind and for making my own feel provoked and engaged. I feel like I am witnessing what would happen to a brain that equals the likes of Kopernikus and Da Vinci
Just watched a George Carlin ski from The Smothers Brothers where he plays a news anchor. That news anchor talks about a California math professor who found a number between 6 and 7 that he calls Bleen.
Awesome job guys creating this film i have downloaded this in 720p HD and it is amazing. and u guys r from the Savannah College of Art and Design. This Actually Looks like Hollywood Quality. Great Job Guys two thumbs up.
Okay. This short has really stuck with me. I was in the express lane at Wal-Mart today. I heard the computer announce an open checkout, and all I could think was, "Please proceed to checkout bleem." :-)
Ce cours métrage est génial !!! Bravo 👏🏼 le temps n’est qu’une illusion aussi tenace soit elle … elle n’est qu’une succession de synchronicitée… ou de rétrocausalitée …
6:13 304 the bleem is 1/P∞ ( = 0, unit the ultimate ) which is the superpositin of P∞, ... and as soon as "0" is generated by Him, He is LORD God, One the perpetual homanic oscillator, ...
Anyone notice what he helped the ant to do OR the room number prof. was put into? I didn't see a comment about it although I didn't go thru them all. Dammed awesome tale...a full length is deserved for the world!
Amazing one. Really intriguing and had me thinking for a long time after watching it. Two thumps up! I got to know the story by Igor Teper only after watching this. I think this has been a really good adaptation.
Just saw a synopsis on TikTok and figured I’d give it a go. The idea of a base 11 system of math isn’t too bad, Mayans had a 12 base if I remember correctly. Using a different base could be helpful in some calculations, but base 10 is much easier given our language and understanding. Theories of the impossible equations can sometimes lead to a different base to reach a correct answer
Very well crafted. Great eye. Short stories are challenging in that you are forced to cram so much into a limited amount of time. It is difficult to obscure connections. The scene after the accident cuts to the doctor's office, so you know the patient is very likely the accident victim. Even depth of field cannot hide the white hair. After the doctor/kid/jellybean flashback you know that the patient is the one that got hit and how the story will end. Go make more!
It wouldn't be any number we could think of that's between 3 and 4, because none of them are integers; they are simply irrational numbers, fractions, or decimals. That's why bleem is said to be secret; to understand it probably requires knowledge of the fundamental fabrics of the world, and that's what makes this film so intriguing.
He's right, if you take 3 and 5 and put them together, you get 8, which is infinity sideways. Having access to infinity sideways, the mathematician went back to a different point in infinity to tell the Doctor as a kid that his math was the real deal. The only problem was that he had to go back sideways, so he didn't see the car coming in his poorly aged peripherals. Twas hubris that killed the good mathematician.
awesome short film, its a treat to watch. Excellent research, photography and everything. No words. keep it up this good work. i wish you best of luck for your future.
Fantastic - everything. the acting, the direction, the cinematography, lighting, editing, music and whatever else. . . love to see more and longer features from you !! thanks :} 🎭
Thanks so much for your support! Very glad you enjoyed the film. :)
Damn, its sitting here below 200k views after 11 years... Unbelievable.
Hmm what about demicals
This 15 minutes are more expressive than all the 2 hours in most hollywoodfilms!
No comment hmm...

That way the bleemth one is "elsewhere" unseen, not in another dimension but represented as being so.
Between the 3th and 4th as in a dimension where time is linear?
I thought he was going to hold it on the underside of the glass table and tell them that "if this were to be a wooden table it would be unseen. our world is the wooden table."

You mean bleem films? You didn't see his other work?
I really feel like this could be a great movie
I feel like a proud mother. I am so happy I supported your kickstarter.

What about a 4 spatial dimension?
@@etk128 What I'm describing IS a fourth spatial dimension.
I asked my buddy to punch me bleem times and he kept skipping it and going straight to four.
My face hurts.
I watched this for the first time 10 years after it was put out and I would rather watch this than most movies put out today. It had my jaw on the floor by the end.

11:53 , Holy shit look at all the writing he got out of one marker, what brand is that?
He figured out bleep first before escaping in other dimension.
He figured out the bleem first, then he finally figured out how to escape in another dimension.
Bleeper
I read the shortstory a few times in the past few years. One of my favourites. Hadn't known it was made into a film until now. Nicely done!
I believe it actually started as a George Carlin joke on the show Smothers Brothers.
I've seen a lot of short films, non of them even close to this masterpiece!
Colin, this is incredible. Seriously, a job well done! You have a long career ahead of you. Bravo, sir!
great film, i watched it over bleem times!
Loved the movie so much that I repeat it everytime I am in need of curiosity , ingenuity, inquisitive or need to wind down . Great masterpiece Colin.
@12:35 “Don’t touch those!” The orderly ate the jelly bean that the professor had in his mouth @5:55 LOL! 😂 🤣
I just love how it diverts from the original story and gives a perfect explanation to everything. just love
Still better than most of the hollywood movies.
Yeah, I definitely wonder sometimes if I should've just stuck with the original "3 jellybean" ending - without the fluff.
so the professor time travelled to the past and got killed by doctor's mum ??
Been can prove time travel
Yep, that's what happened.
It is truly a crime that this doesn't have more views!
You are making films of this caliber at your age, please don't stop.
wait really?!
Beautiful!!
That's all I can say. Jan Morgenstern's music is classic too (he's one of my faves)
It's my all time favorite short film 💕 I have watched it many times over the years and it still makes my heart pound and my mind race. Thank you kindly for allowing me into your mind and for making my own feel provoked and engaged.

What a review! I'm so glad the short resonates with you!
Also my favorite plus this one: th-cam.com/video/KeJ4cp9nsA8/w-d-xo.html
ALso thought the Professor's room number was a nice touch.
Congratulations, Colin, on what's to be a long, renowned career in moviemaking! I can say, "I knew him when!"

720p why not 4k?
This is brilliant. Somebody reading this must have enough money to help them make a feature length sequel, I'd take everyone I know to see it
Dude...
IT WAS THE BEST SHORT MOVIE THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN
Good work budy...
Im working in a short movie too but...
You made a masterpiece
Good work
This is excellent! This is so good on so many levels I don’t know where to start!
What a great movie.........such great works don't get much appreciated by the mass media.......
Extremely well done! I hope this movie gets lots of views and likes :) Keep up the work Colin Levy :D
This is honestly awesome. Good work!
Wow, what a great film! thoroughly enjoyed!!

Very good movie much more better than what hollywood producing right now and now i need to watch the full movie
Loved it!
That was an excellently made short film, you guys deff put the work into it and I am glad I found this, thanks for uploading it :D
I just can't believe that this has 150k+ views and only 4k likes!
Excellent short! Congrats to all the crew!
The original short story (which can be read for free somewhere in the net) is pretty nice too!
strangehorizons.com/fiction/the-secret-number/
This masterpiece was created 11 years ago. Fk man why no one recommended me this one!!
How come this isn't bigger yet?!? Amazing work!
I wanna ask him why 6 is afraid of 7
Might be an idea for the future. For now, it's following a 2000-word short story. Fluff was already added to make it 15 minutes long.
Who's also here after tiktok? Great short film.
That was actually pretty cool, had no idea what to expect when I clicked the video, but I liked it.
This was great by itself, but damn! I want more!
Utterly incredible! A master piece
As much as I saw that ending coming, it was still very well done.
I will remember. Please make more.
Just seeing this for the first time. An awesome achievement.
amazing
What a awesome short movie
RED One MX!
I could have watched this all day 15 minutes was such a tease
This should have been a full length
Rumours say that there's a sequel in production, about the discovery of the negative bleem (or anti-bleem).
would negative bleem transport you into the future?
Hi Colin, I'm a filmmaker also. May I know how much is the budget for this film? It was done with such talent!
100k

What?
Excellent. You can tell you all took time and paid attention to detail.
Good film that raises the questions. Are we really missing numbers or even letters? Thst could help us unlock something
I give the film bleam thumbs up!
Very interesting way of portraying the number at the end.
thank you!! better than today's Hollywood cartoons.
Anyone notice what he helped the ant to do OR the room number prof. was put into? I didn't see a comment about it although I didn't go thru them all. Dammed awesome tale...a full length is deserved for the world!
Very excellent little movie!
absolutely amazing!
Amazing one. Really intriguing and had me thinking for a long time after watching it. Two thumps up! I got to know the story by Igor Teper only after watching this. I think this has been a really good adaptation.
Very intelligent script, very well executed. My compliments to all involved.
A masterpiece... Truly
This was super cool! Really enjoyed it. Nicely shot, great acting, perfectly written. Nice!

I enjoyed watching it! The theme is so interesting and exciting.
But I just didn’t understand what happened to the professor in the end…
he found the bleem and went to past
The voice drop on the understanding part is perfect :D
Great job
This was stunning.
This most definitely for the thinkers 💯🔥
so great

So underrated. Good story. Failed to reach audiences
What the BLEEM do we know...LOL! Great film all around. 🙏🏾

Excellent! More Please.
Awesome work Colin!
I feel like a lot of money was spent on this movie so I hope that it can get the amount of views it deserves!!!
I believe they're looking for 3.5.
Nope, 3.5 is not an integer.
Bon Bon Haha I saw ur comment in the new blackpenredpen video and just came here

Amazing. I'll have to watch it about 15 times to get it, like I did with Tears of Steel
Love your shorts
That marker sure had a lot of ink in it.
This was so good, the first thing I instinctively did was try finding the torrent it.. for the "FULL" version.
Man this is soooo amazing 🔥 🔥
I wish i can work with u
thank you for sharing
Holly s*** what a good short 2022 and i love it .Please do a movie but no Disney o any of his associates!
