  • Retro Review: One of the best used cars on the road? or a BORING snooze-mobile? (Hint: This is NOT your gramma's Camry!)
    I had the pleasure of driving this beautiful 2010 Camry SE for a couple weeks and well over 1000 miles, and thought I would do a “retro review” of it all these years later

    This has been my favorite Camry before the 2018 model. My only concern is that It’s rare to find one with options together like push start, moonroof, JBL sound system, leather seats. Another cool feature I love about this Camry 10/11 is it’s dual exhaust and led taillights on SE trims which Toyota disappoints me in other year models. Only from 2018 XSE trim you can find that😒😩 and it’s so pricey

      Hi! I think the 18 is the only one I like more as well! Owning the dealership(especially during these times) has actually made me less particular. Knowing the 10-11 has proved it self and that it’s less money, I think it would be my first choice

      I just got one. It's the best.
      I really love the 3 spoke steering.

    I'm looking at one of these next week. A 2010 with a manual gearbox. My only worry is with the reported oil burning issues.

    • @DrewGarage
      @DrewGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      The 2.5 was better than the 2.4 (but the 2.4 was fine 2006 back to 2002) they are still good cars just be aware of the issue :) please subscribe!

      @Drew's Garage after a bit more research, the consensus seems to be that the 2AR-fe engine is OK. The oil burning issues were with the 2AZ. The one I'm interested in should be OK as is 2AR, but before I buy will take it to a trusted mechanic friend to check over to include a compression test and a boroscope into cylinders.

      @michaelgermaine1624 nah. Went to look at it. Was obvious it had been in a front-end collision. Seller was one of those small roadside dealers who buys cars from auctions and looking for a quick buck.

    Is this at East view mall hahaha? Also, how’s it doing now? Does it burn oil?

    • @brentkiely657
      @brentkiely657 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you change your oil at 5000 miles or less it prevents the oil using issue. Have you not watched "the car care nut " youtube channel with over a million subscribers to that channel ! ? ? ? It is an awesome Toyota advice channel. The channel is hosted by a Toyota master technician !

      Not great, I’m coming from a Yaris though haha. Being serious the power is definitely worth the money most of the time… but you get to pay for it all the time.
      That being said this could be the more reliable engines and definitely the more reliable Camry engine in this vintage.

      @DrewGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Wow 290! That’s awesome on a newer one like this! How did the transmission do over the nearly 300k?
      I would imagine virtually any car burns at that mileage. They simply can’t last forever but it probly had a lot of life left. My 2008 201,500ish mile tundra does maybe 2qts in 5,000 miles. Our 2007 odyssey 198,000 seems to burn almost none (thank God we disabled the VCM when we got it at 120ish. Maybe this is a good video content)

      @@DrewGarage Transmission still runs like a champ believe it or not. (Knock on Wood). I do alot of driving and idling so burning oil is natural. It's starting to leak power steering fluid though. I just saw another 2010 camry se model w/ the 4 cylinder engine for about 7,800 dollars. I wanna purchase it for 7 thousand out the door. Wish me luck. It's got 149k on it.

      @@eds1512 wowsers that’s awesome. Hopefully you want that as a second one, not to replace yours! Would be amazing to see how far you can take it.
      I own a dealership, and I can say this: you have a chance to get that deal, but right now it’s really tough because prices have skyrocketed, and profit margins have shrunk a little at best. Plus interest (most dealers finance their inventories) have eaten away even more profit. personally, I’ve posted everything as an average of Kelley blue book, Carfax retail, and JD power. I very seldom move and price because it is so difficult to get good inventory. Tax here is 8%, and DMV fees are usually about another 200, very difficult to absorb that in these awful times, but, you should definitely ask!

      Yes I miss it! I have owned this dealership for almost 3 years, and I must say of all the demos I’ve had, this was one of my favorites. It was this, a 2006 Lexus LS 430, and a 2016 Prius. The best of all was the 2016 Prius, and then there’s been a handful of classic cars he imported from Japan that were pretty great. I haven’t seen another Camry like that at auction sense or I would’ve bought it

    Mild mannered is a very, very nice way of saying slower than a second coming of Christ on everything single thing it does besides it’s unbelievable hurry up shift in the second gear if you don’t get on it hard enough … is this that makes the car actually feel kind of gutless and it is absolutely is not.
