I just realized something. According to the evidence in this video, exams are a quite stupid way of learning. Most people stress a lot during exams, and if your stressed you are a lot less likely to remember that in the long term. This allows you to forget all of the knowledge you learned during that test for later life. In conclusion, you probably won't need any of the information that you have to know for exams and if you do, you'll forget it more easily because you were stressed during your exam. Just my thoughts, thanks for reading!
I agree. I also think tutoring is a waste of time because you obviously get way too much stress and then all you can think about is study, study, study and have no time with yr friends and family

@@Hayden_981 It's not just money though. Poor sleep increases risk of accidents, cancer, mental health problems, and obesity. Not to mention, getting good sleep may be one of the biggest factors in happiness. The concerning thing is that studies have shown that people lose their ability to feel how tired they are after chronic sleep deprivation and go around bragging about how they "only need 5 hours" when in reality they're making themselves stupid and unhealthy.
I don't know if there's any scientific evidence behind it, but I always found that recording my professor's lecture, then going home and re-WRITING my notes in a more neat manner, and including the things I may have missed from hearing the initial lecture into my rewrites, always helped me. I almost always aced my tests, sometimes with a perfect score. I'm not sure if it was the METHOD with which I studied or the fact that I had an amazing professor.
OH, I use this method too. Writing helps me remeber things better, plus this way I not only got double practise but also since my notes were so tidy I would always feel motivated to study. In college, I would make rushed notes in a doctor's handwriting and come home and write neatly, with additional important points.
during my 1st term exams I stressed so much about exams that I could not even study properly and I got 76% on those exams but then during my 2nd term exams I decided that I will not stress about exams because stress only made them more hard so I tried to stress as little as possible and i got 92% on those exams . The day before my English literature exam,I hadn’t known anything bout anything. I finished an entire novel of 400 pages from 10pm to 5:30am along with the meanings and stuff of the important quotations and stuff and then from 5:30am to almost 7am I finished all 5 poems and memorised all the poets as well as knowing what every word meant through figurative language and shit. this is a first time my online friends said im cramming on studying, and i don't even realized that i am.. it's such a blessing to have friends like her even my irl bestf doesn't even care about me
I basically just crammed for my gcses last year and I got all A*s so I must have been doing something right 😅 for me the most important things are: 1. Eat lots of good food; exams and cramming need lots of energy, no need to count calories for now, just make sure it’s not junk food because it stops you from thinking clearly. I ate loads of porridge, bananas, walnuts, dark chocolate, veggies, salmon, rice, dhal, avocado, berries etc. 2. Drink loads of water!!!! 3. Cram in the evening then sleep well, it’s 1000 times better than staying up all night revising even if you cover more stuff. At least for UK exams it’s less about memorisation and more about applying knowledge, so your brain needs to be alert and rested. Anyway, sleeping after revising helps with remembering it. 4. I read a few books on memory techniques and methods. Some knowledge like the periodic system and complex biologic systems is helpful to organize with the use of methods like the memory palace. But most knowledge is most useful if you actually understand it and can apply it.
Guys, here's little something I do I usually study an hour or two before my exam. When I have my notes, I take a bondpaper and re-write my notes there. Re-writing keeps my memory fresh so whenever I answer, I can almost usually remember which quadrant I wrote this or that, making it way easier for me. Dividing it into sub-cateogires also helps. Maybe I'm a visual person..? That may be why an after image is the best way to let me remember things.
Just had exam , the cortisol , sweat and memory problem happened for me. So i slept immediately and read after waking up. It helped me a lot. Really guys !!!!
What about relieving subconscious stress? Fun fact, before I went to University I was a chef and have the temperament under stressful situations that helped me in that field. I organize based on challenge level and do prep work well in advance. This results in me being a pretty chill dude. However, this semester things have started happening like a few strands of hair REALLY prematurely greying, or going to the doctors in pain and being told: "this looks like [insert condition] but it's non-adherence to the conditions actual symptoms means it's stress causing it." I workout three times a week, I make sure to chill out with both of my favourite stress reliefs----TH-cam and Video Games an hour and a half a night, I constantly listen to therapeutic music like dreampop because I love it, and make time to watch one movie a week. In short, I don't know why my body is screaming at me that I'm stressed.
Ironically enough my test tomorrow is about neurology and psychology (I'm studying to become a nurse) and this information not only helpful in telling me how to study more effectively but also explained me small parts of the material 😂😅 thanks!

If u dont study the whole year u suffer during exams..no shortcuts..inst gonna help you like this youtube video ..So it's better to study the whole year.
2 weeks ago I found out that there was an opportunity for a Geometry eoc, so I attempted to learn the whole content in that time. I did my exam today and doubt I passed, but here's some advice--as long as you have a few days or more to spare--:Plan out each topic you have to learn and write it down. Create a schedule to find out how many topics you need to learn a day to master this, and attempt more topics on free days to make up for any inevitably busier days you may have. If it's a really large exam, maybe spare a whole day to just going over all the topics you went through. There's also some really helpful Final Exam reviews on TH-cam which is what helped me, so I recommend that if you have no other sources. Advice right before the exam: Get into the ✨mode✨ first. I recommend just going over extremely simple equations or ideas relating to your topic to get into the mode of your subject before getting right into it. I'm not saying to study right before the test, but just review simple ideas relating to your topic an hour or less beforehand so that you're already focused when you get into it. This will save time!
I really hate that every time I study for hours a day, it doesn’t make a difference. When I wake up the next day, I forget everything and nothing even clicks. It’s as if I never even studied at all. What works for me is sleeping in the afternoon, waking up in the evening, then cramming all night and day until the exam starts. Everything that I’ve learned has been part of my everyday life, if I stop taking a subject I’m familiar with, I forget and never get any feeling of familiarity whatsoever.😢😡😢😡😢😡
Who actually never done study all nighter? It's always planned but you just fall asleep and then try to study morning with much more pressure lol

2:20 is actually going to be so helpful for my psychology exam
The dislikes are the ones who failed their exam after waching this video.
Damn i do have an exam next week i guess i need to watch this video :(

About to go build a rocking bed before my exam wish me luck.
Bacteriology exam tomorrow for my master i didnt study shit.i'll let u know my mark

Rocking to sleep. Great advice. That’s what I learned. I’m literally going to get a rocking bed :)
Repeating some terms help in remembering or it would just slip from your mind
