Hey Casmo, one thing I noticed about your videos is HOW INCREDIBLY smooth your trackIR is. You snap your head a LOT but you are extremely accurate and you are able to keep your head still very easily. Wondering if this is trackIR because it is incredible how good you got your profile to be
I believe spudknocker posted a profile on TH-cam. It works great. Even gs commented on the video saying he liked it. I used it and don’t have to turn my head nearly as much with the default profile.
Other than not having stealth or dogfighting capabilities, the F-15e is damn near the perfect aircraft. Powerful radar for both the air to air and air to ground, large array of air and ground munitions, great speed capabilities, and can't think of anything else.
Not feeling it's situational awareness though. I'm constantly getting lost not knowing exactly where I am and the IFF doesn't look all that different form friend or foe

You can also just make the TPOD/TGP the SOI with long press (right/left) and then simply use long press Auto AQ AFT to snow plow the pod to the nose without taking command of the HUD. Even less steps considering that you still need to change to the TPOD. Might as well just go straight to it and ignore the need for hud command.
Quick tip that may be handy for when you have a designate point and want to HUD Designate again. Instead of boat aft you can do TDC PRESS and it will update the point. Maybe helpful ;)
Nice little hints and tips. I knew about the switching from auto to cdip via the hud, incredibly useful and intuitive, that is. Now, if I could just AAR in it.........
I love the mudhen so far, it’s been really fun being in a new cockpit trying to learn all the different things again. But I feel my situational awareness is much better in the f-16 and I feel like my face is always buried in the screens and what not of the 15 lol
Yeah that’s the snow plow mode. For some reason the technique I showed is the one that Notso (former F-15 WSO) recommended. Think it has to do with the fact that in reality the back seater would have the pod and this is a quick way the pilot can take it and quickly help the WSO get on the right spot.

For real, I just went on a long circuit of the Caucasus the other day binding and testing all my controls for the back seat and just kinda figuring it out on my own. I mean it's only fair any of us trying to learn the Eagle are ready to take our turn back there sometimes, right?
@@FilmDegenerate They're for the two little sticks on the side consoles, different from the main HOTAS-The left one controls the left 2 screens and the right one controls the right 2 screens. For some ungodly reason in the back you have to use the _coolie switch_ and not the _castle switch_ on them to take command of the screens; that really tripped me up at first and I was also thinking it was bugged or something. Once I realized it's on the coolie switch now, I was able to work them. Dunno what they were thinking but apparently that's the way it works.

Being able to quickly drive the Tpod to a new area is VERY nice...can't wait for JHMCS to pull this off nicely, but quickly switching target for a loft is very very cool.

Yo Casmo, have you tried doing a loft delivery with slick Mk-82’s from low level yet? There was a book about the Mud Hen in Desert Storm that talked a lot about them doing a bunch of those type of deliveries at the start of the war. They said it kept them out of the worst of the AAA around the airfields. It said about 20 miles out they would pop up, get a .67 patch map and designate what they wanted to hit, then back into low level, run in and do a loft release then right back down into low level and egress. It sounds SPORTY at night at 200 ft over the desert while getting shot at!!
It bears mentioning you have to use boat switch aft to undesignate any target point you may have in order for these tricks to work. I was practicing bombing in a little shooting gallery mission and was like "...OK now let's try that stuff from the Casmo video" and was really frustrated that they weren't working until it occurred to me my earlier designated target point might have been locking the TPod where it was (which _is_ ultimately a great feature to have so you don't accidentally lose your place).
Yeah this is driving me crazy, I’m not sure why but once I set my first target, I can no longer reset the target pod back to center even with the castle press and castle up trick or auto acq aft, both stop working after I designate my first target
@@blanchbacker Yeah like unless it's a bug that it works this way, it's designed so you don't accidentally lose your place by being butterfingered with the castle or coolie switches. If you wanna reset the system, it's boat switch aft, just like undesignating a target in TWS.
My notes from the video: -toggle CDIP: castle depress + castle fwd. Then AutoAcq aft. To toggle off CDIP, AutoAcq aft again while HUD is IN CMD. -slave TPOD reticle to FPM: castle depress + castle fwd (2x) - in this configuration press pickle to designate, and to undes press boat switch aft. - loft bombs by holding pickle down in a dive and pull up when in range, maneuver to defend and keep tpod view of tgt unmasked, like maybe a wing-over

What's the furthest you think an f15 can throw a jdam from the deck? That actually sounds like a fun competition! who can throw a jdam the furthest starting on the deck we could even have a line where pilots can't gain alt tell they pass it and a line where they have to have released it by to keep things fair.
If it helps you, here is what you need to do: -Go into the steerpoint page on the UFC (top left button) -Type a number on the UFC that is higher than the ammount of steerpoints you have (say you only have 1, then you press 2) and then click the steerpoint button again. -After that you will create a new waypoint and North and East coordinates should be all 0s. To fill this just press shift + either 2 for north or 6 for east, this will then give you the coordinates format in the scracth pad. -Fill it with the relevant coordiantes and once you are done simply click the push button on the UFC corresponding to either N or E. Once you have both you will see the steerpoint come up on the TSD and HSI.

@@CasmoTV dynamic DCS. It is a multiplayer server using combined arms and a really fantastic "dynamic" aspect of capturing territory. There is no feeling in DCS quite like thinking you had an AO cleared up, and then a human controlled TOR turns it's radar on directly below you. My CPG and I had an hour long palm sweating encounter with a human controlled Tunguska once, hunting eachother through a city. He finally drove a little too far out on a street and we got him with canon. In my ten years of playing DCS, nothing comes close to the experience on DDCS. There is a discord with FAQs and the player base is always happy to explain things to newcomers. Also, the creator has managed to offload a lot of the processes so that it runs incredibly well for how complex it is. Every module has it's place and use, including slingloading defenses and convoys, and flying WWII planes like bush aircraft to re-supply places. Sorry for the rant, but it is just so damn good. -Migdriver

I keep trying to get the TPOD to slave to my flight vector but most of the time it doesn't work. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Does it require A2G MM? do I have to have munitions selected?
Set up like I show in the video. If you deviate I can’t account for what might or might not be happening. Believe you have to have AG Mode set but I’m not at my rig to double check.
There is no "tap". The assertion of every switch or button has a parameter of short or long. For control buttons and momentary switches you have asserted modes of < 0.8, and > 0.8 seconds; the first is short press, and latter long press.
@@CasmoTV I just looked it up in the RAZBAM manual. They differentiate short and long press at the 1.0 second mark and they specifically state short press or long press throughout the manual. Whether that is according to NATOPS--and I've read a few of those--which from my experience always use the 0.8 second mark to differentiate short and long press--I'd have to look up. It's not that difficult to use the correct terminology and be unambiguous. How long is a tap? 0.2 seconds? 0.5? Or do you actually mean short press? Boy, everyone says they are open to constructive criticism, and when you try to give any and help them out you get sarcastic feigned interest.

I am very disappointed in the quality of the graphics, especially the cockpit, after all of the hype by RAZBAM and their videos. Then I had to load the Open Beta version of DCS just to be able to load the F15E Module. My system has locked up so many times since then, and I had to use the task manager to exit DCS. In contrast to the F16 Viper Module, the F15E Module leaves much to be desired. I was one of the first A-Shop Avionics specialists trained on the F15E at Luke AFB. I was looking forward to this Module, only to be disappointed.
Not a very good avionics guy if you're saying just loading the beta is causing your lockups. Coming from another avionics guy to another for 18 years. Cmon bud.

When in control of the TPOD, you can also hold down the Auto Aquisition Switch Up, and it will slew to the nose of the aircraft

Helmet Mounted Displays were not integrated in this version of the F-15E. It's from around the year 2000

I think you can just TDC press with the HUD as SOI and it will designate and slew the pod to that as well? You don't have to swap to the TPOD

there is still a lot to be implemented, the JDAMS; the Mavericks, The glide bombs, etc

In contrast to the F16 Viper Module, the F15E Module leaves much to be desired. I was one of the first A-Shop Avionics specialists trained on the F15E at Luke AFB. I was looking forward to this Module, only to be disappointed.
Well I don’t know what to tell you, darling. I think it’s pretty impressive. Try not to let your prior experience color your enjoyment.
Not a very good avionics guy if you're saying just loading the beta is causing your lockups. Coming from another avionics guy to another for 18 years. Cmon bud.
You will have a much smoother time running this aircraft with the multithreading exe in the open beta folder

@@CasmoTV you can do whatevery you want that's sure ,it just a suggection,but can I ask why? you still can update any aspect ratio you need, pre-baked black bars won't do much to normal user , but make ultrawide screen user watch your video with black letter box
