Ahh beautiful. Thinking of buying these for my move from hand grinder and manual machine. In my mind is like super nice espresso machine that will not disappoint for years + good enough grinder (cause my upgrade itch will probably make me have 3 grinders over a year 😂)
Good choice! Both (the machine and the grinder) are great value for money! The machine is ready to use after 2 minute (after running 1-2 blank shots, the portafilter is hot as well) and the espresso it makes is great! I totally feel you - I would love to try out every grinder and machine out there 😂
I appreciate you sharing your thoughts! The Steel Duo is a fantastic addition, and I’m sure it’ll elevate your coffee game even more. Enjoy those cappuccinos!
Hi, yes - it's supposed to sound like that! It's the pump preparing the water to heat up and produce steam. But it's not a big deal (for me) as the job is done in around one minute :)
@@LukeMakesCoffee Thanks for your reviews of this machine. Been looking to upgrade to a dual boiler-type set up and this machine sure checks a lot of boxes but I have to say that thumping noise during steaming seems really loud. I'll have to hear it in person to see if it'll make me crazy but, meanwhile, thanks again for the outstanding review.
@brwi9678 thanks for the kind words! :) It's not the most quiet machine, but it's also not THAT loud - maybe you have a shop near your location where you can hear it in person! :-)
HI, what are you think about preinfusion and extraction time? Should preinfusion time (5s) be added to the whole extraction time? So the "perfect shot" 18g -> 36g in 35s (30s + 5s preinfusion) or 30s in total?
@@LukeMakesCoffee ok I will try. I have same machine, but it is hard for me make good taste coffee. Its goto fast even the grind size is near to zero. 🙌🙌
What grinder do you use? And also, what coffee beans do you use? Supermarket coffee is too old most of the times - you really have to buy fresh coffee of a local roaster to achieve perfect espresso shots :)
Ok if you are already grinding really fine and it's still running too fast, you have to put more coffee in it! I have a 15grams basket, but I have to put 17grams in it otherwise it is running to fast. Try to put in 1 gram of coffee more.
I have almost identical set up but I have the plus version of the ascaso and I have the 54 not the 64. I also have all the same tools 😂 although I got the one with the integrated knock box because my bin is miles away. Was the 18g in? And what setting is your grinder on? Cheers
Hi, ohhh nice, the Steel Duo PID Plus is amazing! At the moment I am using 17 grams in (I use a 15g precision basket of MHW3-Bomber and it fits 17 grams perfectly). My grinder is set at 10 at the moment. Cheers :)
Do you get worried that you cant go finer than what the DF64 can go? I see you're on around 10 for this grind which sounds and looks pretty low the bottom.
I am not worried about that! Yes, at the moment I am grinding on size 10, but I grind really fine and the coffee is a little bit older than I usually drink them. So it should be absolutely no problem ever! ☺️
I have the same setup now and i really like it
Clean and simple. I love easy setups like that
Thanks mate! Me too ;)
This looks amazing!! Love coffee ☕️♥️
I could watch you make coffee all day long haha 👍🏼
Love that - thanks! :)
Love it - simple and nice setup ❤
Thanks a lot ☺️
So beautiful 😍
Thank you! 😊
lovely, i am also thinking of buying the same setup
Go for it - it‘s amazing!
Beutiful tasty looking flat white
Thank you! :)

Cool! I have the Steel Uno & also the DF64. Thinking of buyin the steel duo, as I really like cappuccino and it would be a lot quicker I guess

Is it supposed to make that loud noise when the steam wand is on? I’m looking at purchasing but that sound concerns me

I saw a few pucks in there already. how long have they been in there? Mine mold if I leave them in a knock box for more than a day.
Mine mold after around 4-5 days and then I give the drawer a good clean! I think thats normal (but I hate it as well..)

Hi, I count after pre-infusion - so I aim for 18 grams in 36 grams out in 35 seconds (5 + 30 seconds). But let your taste decide! 😁

I use Eureka Mignon Specialita grider and fresh coffee (05.11.2024) from a local roaster.

I love your tamping station! Where did you buy it?
Thanks! I ordered it on Aliexpress :)
Do you like the grinder?
Yes - it‘s great for espresso, moka pot, filter coffee etc. - an allrounder grinder for under 400 € ✌🏼
It is awesome! Its just a little loud imo
