When you see someone this enthusiastic about food in NYC, Hong Kong, etc., you don't have time to eat. Watching him eat all this food makes you full. No need to eat!
Mike, you've become ridiculously good at describing your culinary experiences. Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you! (FYI, this is the most 'New York' that you've sounded in any of your videos).
In the English holiday tradition, roast goose with chestnut stuffing was a traditional Christmas dinner (along with plum pudding and fruitcake with hard sauce). After my grandfather retired from his poultry farming business, we could not always procure goose for Christmas, so we had duck instead. YUM!! I love roast goose and roast duck and, if I EVER find a Chinese restaurant in the Inland Empire of SoCal, I hope they have both on their menu!
Six years later I’m watching this video and chuckling a bit about how fancy Mike is describing the second place all whilst wearing what seems to be a boba tea drink t-shirt. I know there’s no boba in the cup but the straw is huge so it makes me think of a boba size straw.
Awesome reviews Mike! I've been to Yat Lok and the reaction you had is pretty much what I had, though I like your 'makes you want to punch yourself in the face' description. I think I just cried, because it was like my taste buds had opened up and whispered the secret and holy mysteries of the universe to me. Hopefully Yung Kee will still be open when there next!
I've never seen a guy who has a food orgasm with every bite from every restaurant, NYC, Hong Kong, you name it. Love the way he rolls his eyes after every dish. This guy is most definitely not a vegetarian. He's a meat-oholic. Fabulous free advertising for the restaurants he goes to.
Because you are a poor planner and a food porn novice! I'm eating good over here...not goose...but my own homemade stewed pork neck bones with veggies and white rice plus plenty of snacks on deck. You DO NOT binge watch food porn with no food options at home!!!!!!!
Next time you're in the 852 and in the mood for ramen, hit me up! definitely must try BUTAO! Also we have ICHIRAN, since I remember watching your previous videos!
" wish I used that bread as a sandwich " 😂😂🙌🙌. Omg dude your so adorable to watch and your super funny! Love the video! Can't wait to get to HK and Try these food spots!! 💯👆🙌
Superb video! Chinese are such experts when it comes to fowl (and many other dishes). In Chicago on Argyle St. , the best duck on the western hemisphere is prepared on a daily basis. I'm from a German goose tradition. We do Christmas goose pretty darn well, too. But I love to see different cultures prepare their culinary treats. Two things bring the world together: food and art.
You have changed my life - what I mean by that is - you have increased my life bucket list by a 10 fold - I never been a person to care much about owning thing but owning memories and I thanks for it so much
You should try the roasted goose at Sham Tseng. That's like 45mins away by bus from central. And I recommend LUK YU TEA HOUSE Just a street down from yung kee. Their dim sum are the best.
omg your reactions in this video were HILARIOUS, not sure whether it was intentional but... I've never laughed so hard at a food video. I recently found your channel, definitely subscribed!
authentic peking duck is seriously a treat. the skin is so crispy on the outside but literally the moment your saliva touches the skin it just melts and gushes into a torrent of umami in your mouth. it's like a 5-star pork rind. people think you are exaggerating when you blacked out, but the skin is seriously that good.
that's what im looking forward every time my folks go to hong kong , sio ngo, n sio ap, by the time it got to the philippines , believed me its still warm.....
The most amazing thing about Hong Kong roasted duck (at least as made by some proficient chefs) is that it tastes like the silkiest, most perfectly seasoned that ham you've ever had!
Priceless, I love goose,my mother fixed that for our holidays. Never had the pig but will try it now. Stay safe and take care, as always your biggest fan from Arkansas
HK Roast goose & char siu with rice is the best meal of all time. Like you said the best thing to put in my mouth. It is a famous restaurant and should open all around the world.
I must've missed you. I was at Yung Kee last week. I would have loved to have treated you to the goose, it's my favourite. The family feud there is why Kam's opened and Yung Kee is closing. Too sad. I've never tried Yat Lok, thanks for pointing this one out.
Mike! Thank you for this delicious video. My brother is moving to Hong Kong. You just gave me another reason to visit. I really appreciate the quality and content of your video's. Blessings ChefMike
Man you are so cool, crispy skin roast goose and pork suckling are one of my favourite food in the world among tons of food of many countries :) thank you for covering this subject!
Hey Mike, I live in Hong Kong and I'd just like do give you a recommendation for what to eat, I recommend going to a place called Sai Kung in the new territories (It's a town about 20 mins from where I live) and if you're there, you HAVE to go to a place on the waterfront called Chun Kee seafood (there are 2 of them right next door to each other, but go to the taller one. When looking at the water, it's the one on the left.). It's a little pricey but it's AMAZING. You pick what you want and it appears on your plate. I've been there and seriously gotten on the local news because I met some movie star called Alien Huang. (Maybe because I'm a cute little white 12 year old) XD But you gotta go there. PS. Get the scallops with glass noodles, the ginnger fish and the largest prawns they have and get them steamed with garlic.
I looove this video, it makes me so hungry now, BUT can you just tell US every price of each dish you take plz for us if we want to come in these restaurants ? thks !
Good pickup Mike, Yat Lok has been famous for a while, after they got Michelin one star, it brought more westerner tourists in. Landlord then raised their rent so now it's more pricey. Guy in the white T-shirt at the beginning is the owner, used to be a Triad member in Macau gambling scene before going straight.
Awesome video! I'm a HUGE fan of roast duck as well - one of my favorite dishes - but this looks like it's on another level. Where can we get this in the US???
Ok this episode made me cry.. when you were eating at the expensive restaurant and the staff waved at you 😢 His excitement made me happy! Love from New Zealand bro 👌🏾😍😊
The best part about this show is hat I know what to eat/see when I go to these places; downside is that I get super hungary so I have to eat before these.
I got to try out Yat Lok roast goose myself cause of this video. It's the first time I almost cried due to how good the food was. Thank you so much Strictly Dumpling
Mike do you have any idea how delightfully funny you are when you're enjoying a meal? pleasure to watch. I would try goose for your enthusiasm :-) Lol good eating man
Try *Tasty box in diamond bar California if you have chance. It s one of the best Hong Kong Roast duck here and near by another Chinese BBQ. My all times favorite roast duck at *Leung Kee in Rowland Heights only few miles away. Thx.
Those ladies working at the first place, are so courious, that kept sneaking little peeks at you! Also, I love how you say "good", when it's REALLY good, you sound like a little lady from Minnesota!
omg, Yung Kee's food was so delicious that it almost brought you to tears!! I was heartbroken when you said you heard it was closing, but I can't find anything about that online (or at least, nothing in five minutes of frantic googling)... maybe it's just a rumor? Please, let it be so-- I need this restaurant to still exist once I can finally take a trip to Hong Kong!
I think I spend more time watching people eat on youtube than I do feeding myself.
That may be a good thing, at least for me it is, lol
Tell me about it 😂😂 I thought I was the only one 😭😭😭
Best diet plan ever.
When you see someone this enthusiastic about food in NYC, Hong Kong, etc., you don't have time to eat. Watching him eat all this food makes you full. No need to eat!
Brian Garon same here :) i love seeing mike eat. he gets so excited over good food.. absolutely awesome to watch !
I like how the lady moved over because she didn't want to be on camera but she's still on camera.
+Dana T I think she was trying to avoid blocking the view instead.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Wow..... he almost cried tears of joy at the second place.
Imperial_orb - And it made his nipples hard! ;-)
xnonsuchx ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Am I the only one who keeps getting distracted by the on-lookers that keep staring at the camera.
nope
I feel ya
I just noticed a person turn around, look at the camera, and move lol
+Demi_Ares *One of the servers!LOL*
every1 in that restaurant were workers lol
James, it's funny that you check someone elses' spelling, but can't be bothered to place a comma correctly.
Uneducated, illiterate jackass.
GirtheAlienGoldfish you don't have to place a comma before the but. U can if ud like knock yourself out GG WP
The comma before the but is NOT required. Sorry.
Mike, your emotions are real, you are a true connoisseur.
Yes master lee...
I feel like the rice must be really good under the roast goose
That is right 😋
You dont get a micehlin star unless everything is delicious after all
I just ate at Yat Lok roast goose. And yes the rice under the goose is amazing
I was thinking about that the whole video.
dont think it has a star just recomended
Minnesota fan!!!! :) love watching your travels Mike!
+Nina Vang Thanks :-) I used to live in MN :-)

Old lady in background changes seat to avoid camera, few momentd later keeps staring at the camera. Gold. Just gold.
Man, I love your enthusiastic tone and overall energetic attitude! Plus, you remind me of Jackie Chan. So, that's a plus :D
Awesome reviews Mike! I've been to Yat Lok and the reaction you had is pretty much what I had, though I like your 'makes you want to punch yourself in the face' description. "I love meat grease" haha you're the best Mike. Loving your channel. Perfect binge watch material on this lazy Sunday.
Urban VIII He eats meat so there's no way he could be a vegetarian...
Sloppy typing. I meant to insert the word not. No proofreading.
Urban VIII bro, you prob haven't heard about Mike Wiens. Now this is who get multiple orgasms at every nbite
He goes to restaurants that are famous already,
His reactions=pricelesss😂😂❤️👌🏻
Why am I watching this at mid night with no food to eat....
+Johnny Wong ...it gets even better. Just wait until you start cooking in the mid of night like I did. :P
Food machismo-ism? 😂
The agony and the ecstasy.
Because you are a poor planner and a food porn novice! I'm eating good over here...not goose...but my own homemade stewed pork neck bones with veggies and white rice plus plenty of snacks on deck. You DO NOT binge watch food porn with no food options at home!!!!!!!
I love your passion for food, its adorable.
+FEI M Thanks :-)
Next time you're in the 852 and in the mood for ramen, hit me up! definitely must try BUTAO! Also we have ICHIRAN, since I remember watching your previous videos!
Geese attacked me. Lol then I ate some in Hong Kong. I'm like. Look who's laughing now 😏
😂😂😂😂
Geese*
+Alvin Shen Yes, they are fierce when not roast.
omg
+Alvin Shen geese have the attitude don't they? also turkey, I wouldn't provoke a turkey.
I like how the old lady saw you filming and moved away, she was like WTF!!! And moved to the other table.
" wish I used that bread as a sandwich "
😂😂🙌🙌. Omg dude your so adorable to watch and your super funny! Love the video! Can't wait to get to HK and Try these food spots!!

Yung Kee restaurant is sooo good! When I go back to Hong Kong, I'll definitely go back there! Should try Pot Rice! I miss it.
Superb video!

Also meant to add...The Cantonese are some of the best chefs in the world. They can compete with the French school mano a mano.
mysterytrain3 Whats the name of the restaurant. I can't go to Asia but I would love to try a new restaurant.
Food is art
Chicago love ❤️
You have changed my life - what I mean by that is - you have increased my life bucket list by a 10 fold - I never been a person to care much about owning thing but owning memories and I thanks for it so much

Mouth is watering..... Ughhh. Yummy!!!!!! Duck/ Goose is a delicacy. I am so envious!
Houa Moua is goose better than duck?
Chef Rafi's Awesome World Yup more tender than duck and chicken serve with stream rice or noodles (dry or soup)
Wrong address in the description. You went to Yat Lok Restaurant in Central not Yat Lok Barbeque Restaurant in Tai Po.
Thank you I will visit Hong Kong this July I wanted to know where he was and how much the meal was.
I love watching your reaction to food, it's so cute & funny!
I love your reaction when the food is good Mike!
authentic peking duck is seriously a treat. the skin is so crispy on the outside but literally the moment your saliva touches the skin it just melts and gushes into a torrent of umami in your mouth. it's like a 5-star pork rind. people think you are exaggerating when you blacked out, but the skin is seriously that good.
Omg you crack me up! I thought that you were going to cry for a minute.Thank you again for the info and entertainment!

Yong Kee's goose-char siu duo looks amazing.
Do you know why they always hang shallots together with the BBQ meats? I see it all the time...I assume its a nature fly deterrent or something
Mike do you have any idea how delightfully funny you are when you're enjoying a meal? pleasure to watch. I would try goose for your enthusiasm :-) Lol good eating man
I do enjoy watching you eating all these wonderful food here.Btw, I live in Hong Kong !
Lol! 🤤😂😂😂You so crazy!!!.... Bread for a sandwich!😂😂😵😵I can't.....Very nice!
