Harley 4 Speed Transmission | Kicker Box Rebuild
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 11 ก.ย. 2024
- This kicker box was in serious need of a rebuild! I am just hoping that the condition of these kick start parts isn't an implication of the condition of things in the rest of the transmission 😲 🤞 But, this is why it is a project and not a rider... yet. We are getting it there one step at a time!
I hope you all like this video. Thanks for watching!

1080p x 1080p is the MINIMUM we can work with, so please do your best at making sure your photos are large and not blurry 🙂 And send more than one if you can as well!
Only motorcycle related emails please - sorry, but I just don't have the time to engage in personal conversations.
Thank you for your understanding.

Angel, you've got me wrapped around your little finger. My shovel has electric start....and I'm still watching your progress! 😂
😂😂😂 Thank you for the support 🤗
Love working on my Harley and my triumph. Don't mess with the dealerships anymore. Just do everything myself.
she cracks me up
Lol that's good... I think 🤔 😆
@@RedRiderCanadaBC that’s a good thing 👍🏍️
Angel ,you are my favorite part of the day. I always enjoy what you do with your videos. YOU ROCK MY WORLD, GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!❤
Thank you!!
Your knowledge of the workings of that kicker box is pretty doggone great! I could never do any of that. As I've said before, my brain is not wired for jobs like that. I reckon I would be called a tinkerer, if that is even a word lol. But I always enjoy watching and marveling at your knowledge and workmanship when you tear down the inner workings of y'alls bikes. Keep up the good work! Great video! Stay warm and safe up in your beautiful B.C.! ✌
Show some Love! Hit the Thumb Up.. 👍
😃😃😃
Another great video hun ; can’t wait for next episode 👍👍👍
loved this video! everytime i watch your videos, i get an education😊 , please keep them coming
Thank you!
I've been enjoying your mechanical videos a whole lot. As a 71 year old rider, I've never owned or ridden a Harley. I'm kind of thinking I need to own one at least once. Living 70 miles from Milwaukee, there's just been some sort of mental block or different drummer attitude when it comes to Harley's for me in the past. It's always nice to see a woman that's comfortable around tools. My wife was a very good custom spray painter.
You would probably enjoy a Harley. It's always worth going to take one for a test ride! They are a nice sounding bike and thats a huge thing that has made them so popular over time.
Great video... These are the type that go viral!!! Fantastic stuff!!!
Thank you!! Man if this is the video to go viral I would be shocked haha. One day though 😊
You are Amazing! Funny how you watch someone doing a job and they do it exactly how you do it yourself.
Haha 😆 Thanks 😁
0:07 It is for the sake of such moments that I watch your videos ❤. Honestly, I am a fierce spender of various cleaning products. I can spend one full cylinder of "Carburetor Cleaner" on just one carburetor, well, or a maximum of two. Recently, after a downpour, I cleaned the valve covers with a special tool for quickly starting the engine and the whole balloon went to clean only two covers😂😂.
Killer job always great to watch you get your bikes ready to ride. The winter is the best time to get the big projects done so riding weather your out fast and having a blast much love from Florida! 🤘😎🔥🌴🌊☀
Totally! Thanks 🙂
@@RedRiderCanadaBC You're very welcome 😎
dont ya just love how easy Harleys are to work on... l did same job on both of my 84 softail...... job well done Red good seeing you getting into ya bike.... cheers & Knee's in Da Breeeeeeezzzzzzeeeeeee....
So easy! Thanks 👍 🍻
Angel sometime we have to do what we have to do. And as long as the outcome is the same we’re all good. Way to solve the problem with the bushings. Hey we all can’t be lucky enough to have a fully stocked tool box or machine shop right. You keep doing what you’re doing great job. You take care and stay safe. Tell Pops I said hello.
Thank you John. I realize I am extremely fortunate to have a shop set up like this!
I am green with envy looking at all the cool tools in your garage. And your knowledge. I'm older than you and you know way more than I do. I'm saving this video for when my kicker craps out down the road. Thanks for your expertise!
I also didn't know about the ad revenue thing. From now on I'll let the ads play all the way through, but on mute.
@@chipmartin7608 that occurred to me as well, I let them play now, I’m sure there’s a metric in the ai that keeps track, 😎👍🏻
Thank you guys! Yep, watching the adds definitely makes a difference for your fave youtube peeps! 😁 And that's great Chip, I hope my video comes in handy to you and hopefully not too soon haha
Very good instructions, Red !!! I'm impressed. Your Dad has taught you well.
Thank you!
That was a great job rebuilding your kicker box but as usual I knew you would get it done the more I watch you work on your bikes I can feel how proud your dad is about you he taught you very well and you also took his wisdom and made it your own you are a very exceptional young woman keep on doing your thing it's better all the time thanks for sharing we love it
Thank you 😊 😊
Don't have any kick only bikes anymore. Must admit, I miss it.
Nice job, Angel
Wow!! That's really impressive Great job on the kicker box
Thanks!
😊
From here that first cover looked like a Taiwan teddy type cover. The second one looked like a oem cover. You got a good one there. Original parts are gettimg harder to come by amd the aftermarket stuff just don't measure up
That is true!
Antique Harley bobber/chopper is pretty high on my bucket list.
Dooo it!!
Please more of videos like this.

Hello! Black Forest cake is my moms favourite cake. 😋
Very well done video easy to follow 😁🇬🇸👍
ANGEL YOU DO EXCELLENT WORK. NEED TO HAVE HELP ME WORK ON MY TRUCK. GOOD VIDEO AND WORK.👍👍
Haha 👍
Yep .... well done.
Thanks 🙂
Lookin' good, Red! You could help out your"4th time's the charm" brake cleaner by straining it through a bandanna or something similar and keep using it til doomsday! :)
Great idea! Haha
Awesome video, you are so amazing. Great job
Angel your such a Smarty !
😁
Thanks for another awesome video, Have a great day.
Thanks, you too!
Once again, Righteous & beautiful & instructive. Thank you!
You are welcome 😁 And thanks!
Thanks for the lessons, you got my attention!😊
My pleasure! 😁
Good stuff Red!!! Keep em coming!
Thanks! Will do!
Amazing explanation, you really know your stuff.
I appreciate that! 😁
I like you. I like your channel. I like your bikes. I found that helpful, informative and graciously entertaining. Ty.
Thank you 😊
Thanks Angel.
🙂
You should pull the bushings through a tube just bigger than the bushing OD. Less chance of cracking the case. Keep up the good work.
👍👍
Good work.
Great job Miss Angel,
When folks see "TV" motorcycle mechanics they only see them with whole parts and never the true guts of a motorcycle. I like and appreciate your Dad's and your own jigs and ways around "darley" only tools. I've never been brand specific nor do I believe any manufacturer is the end all to any products. Now if you and your Dad were to spec out a bike for my kind of riding- long distance touring, I'd be in line to buy. What thickness aluminum and steel plate are used in your jigs Please? Well, YES with that knowledge I will be making my own Thank You very much. I have a drawer full of jigs for my 47 Indian and 65 Panhead but there is always room for improvements.
Thank You for sharing and Thank You to your Dad for passing on his gained knowledge.
You are both in my prayers
Hoka Hey
Why thank you Van 🙂 I believe the plate we have in our vice is cut from 1/8 inch aluminum plate. We also use some thin copper jaws for when we need to heat and bend steel. And if I hear of any deals for a good touring bike then I will definitely let you know!
Great video Angel, myself I want nothing to do with kicking a bike I’m too old for that. I will take electric starter every day and twice on Sunday😎Dave H
Thanks Dave! Lol I’ll keep kicking till I can’t no more!!
I hate working with aftermarket parts. I’m a marine mechanic by trade, and were relegated to utilizing aftermarket crap on some things as some original parts suffer from the dreaded three letters “NLA” (no longer available). It’s good to keep good useable parts around in case you run across those dreaded three letters. I could tell you stories about aftermarket stuff failing after not much use. So I definitely feel for you when you ran across the kicker spring that hung up on itself. As always, great video Angel!
I always go for OEM when I can!
Awesome Video Angel !!!!!
😃😃😃
@@RedRiderCanadaBC 👍🎸!!!!
Sorry. I commented before the bushing reaming. I comment as I watch. My bad😮
All good haha
Super cool video! You're pretty smart, for a girl! Lol. Smarter than me actually!
Haha 😆
entertaining and informative,. love to see work on those old bikes, you must have world of knowledge, i'm just wondering if you can heat up the spring and correct its overlapping problem
Don't need to heat it, just reshape and work it a bit at a time from one end to the other
Great informational how too
😁
Long time viewer , subscrber #36 , still a pleasuer to watch your work !
Thank you 😊 😊 Cool that you know your sub number!
Very informative thanks Red 👍🇬🇧
No problem 👍
Great video and useful info, thanks for posting.
Glad it was helpful!
Good show. 👍
Thanks 👍
I have a great old tank wall hanger would look great in your shop
😮😮😮
You are awesome girl.
Ah, thank you motorcycle gods for electric starting! I am definitely impressed with your knowledge, however!
Thanks 😁
@@RedRiderCanadaBC actually, it's not merely your knowledge, but also the clarity with which you explain it.
Great video
Thanks for watching. Glad you liked it!
Skills!
Drum brake cylinder hone is cheap and works.
Good to know 👍
Nice work!
I have a question about all the ads, do they add to your revenue if we let them play all the way through or can we just hit the 'skip ad' at 5 seconds without affecting your income?
They affect my revenue and the more the adds are watched the more it helps me out 😊 Thanks for asking!
Go to know I will try to suffer watching the ads😎Dave H

@@chriscadman6379 Hello 👋
I approve this message…
🙏
Might suggest MMI but why. You probably know more than most of us.
I have found that all rebuild part kits have something wrong, missing or unusable.
So I'm assuming the starter shaft is the same O.D. as it was new?
Yep, it was all the same. The old ones didn't fit the bushings either.
✌️🤎🏍️🤎✌️
You ever find that tail light you were looking for?
Yes! My last "Mail Day" vid I show a couple that my viewers sent to me.
❤x
Oh, nevermind. A new one.
Thank you, your video was most helpful!!!
A wheel cylinder hone will work for something this.
Cool thanks 👍
