Hi Dan, always wanted go to Bali (think it would have perfect for me 20 years ago) but before covid I always thought way to commercial and touristy for me although I can and know why, everyone know how wonderful it can be and the culture and people are likeminded. All I can think is that the Earth has become too populated, I really cannot be comfortable in crowds. It must be very slow in Bali like most places...covid can have an up side, not that I'm happy about it but it is what it is and it seems to be getting worse...Bali would be wonderful space to be stranded, I'm most tempted...i think your friend here has good karma!
Thank you, all you say is true and Bali may have been wonderful 20 years ago but so was Las Vegas. Its all relative. Truth is we are alive now. Live the best way you can as now is all we have.
Hi, Dan enjoyed your video. I was shocked at the rent price being so cheap. I would be interested in seeing a cost of living comparison between Bali and Thailand. Given the Bali numbers, I think I know who will win. Take care Say Hi to the Mrs :) GOD Bless you and yours. M
Everything is possible. Make dure you look onto the visa requirements first, flight, covid shots/ quarantine and so forth. Before you consider a place to stay. Lodging is easy
Depends upon your home country and where you decide to relocate ... and whether you establish residency or are a slow traveler like me. It also depends on the treaty, if any, your home country has with where you relocate. That is why I don't give tax advice. lol. This is an interesting read if you are an American: www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/013015/how-can-i-avoid-paying-taxes-my-social-security-income.asp
It feels pretty much the same. You just follow the local rules and you'll be fine. If you try to make your own rules it could be uncomfortable. In most of the world people respect the advice they get from doctors, so they wear their mask, social distance, and get the vaccine as soon as it is available. Its not really a political thing in most countries.
I don't know. I have never stayed long enough to find out. :-) Better contact an accountant if you are retiring there. Or ask in one of the Facebook expat groups for indonesia.

Neville Goddard never charged money for his coaching. He walked his talk and manifested his abundant life. I'm not being negative, just speaking the truth.
Yes, the subjective views expressed by your guest are valid but much of what he said, and pics shown during his explanation of Ubud, were simply misleading. This does not take anything away from how beautiful and affordable much of Bali can be but please DO NOT think that what you have seen in this interview is accurate. Go to Bali, when you can, and stay and travel for, at the absolute minimum, 2 weeks before starting to form an opinion of this beautiful island and its people. Thanks for your efforts in educating us on retiring cheap and enjoying life.
What are you saying Mac? Can you be more specific in your criticism? Are you saying most people won't be willing or able to find $83 months apartments? That I would agree with in general. Most people watching this will live in the tourists areas and pay tourist prices. That doesn't mean people willing to live more like a local can't find cheaper places. Thanks for commenting. Dan
I too was curious about which part was miskeading? While I Ubud in a very nice villa with a pool it was $300 a month for 3 months I averaged spending about $1800.00 a month. Now where I live up north I found long term for $1000.00 for 12 months. The places I visited in the pictures are easy to get to and affordable. Yes, I agree every one should stay for at least a month because the expenses of the flight, quarantine and tests, make it less attractive as a 1, 2 week vacation. Otherwise I am curious which part was deceptive?
@@yangzhengqing8024 I did not find anything misleading here. As a short-term visitor to Ubud a couple of years ago, I spent $11/night to stay in a perfectly comfortable, air-conditioned hotel room in Ubud with breakfast included. (It was called Rumah Ary). It wasn't luxurious and the room wasn't big, but it was clean and it was comfortable and even had its own balcony. Eating local the rest of the day cost perhaps $6/day, which left me another $23/day in my budget before I hit $1,200/month. It would be hard to travel on $23/day in Los Angeles or London. But in Ubud? No problem. The only thing I found in Bali that was expensive and didn't have a reasonably-priced local alternative was alcohol. It's just expensive. No way around it. And that's true throughout the country. So if drinking alcohol daily is a requirement for someone, then they should try a different country.
@@VagabondAwake Depends which beach you go to, having lived in Bali for 12 years, even getting from Semiyak to Canggu can take 45 minutes . Sure Ubud is nice, but some people don't know the geography or time it takes to get around if they haven't been there before. Enjoy your videos 👍

I have a couple of questions. I am a type two diabetic and I take different medication, I’m also on TRT where would I get my medications ? I am retired and I want to be an expert preferably in Southeast Asia. Thank you and God bless.
Medications are easily available at pharmacies in Bali and other SE Asia Countries. I recommend going on the Expat FB page for the city/country that you're considering and ask your specific question there. I can answer the TRT question; I have a friend in Bali who is on TRT and he had no problem getting his there. It was actually a stronger version than he had been taking so his doctor in another country lowered the amount. Thailand is open with a quarantine, or through Phukets "Sandbox". There are also visa options to get into Bali. You can contact a visa agent and ask about the retirment visa if you're old enough for it.

Glad you think so!
How did you find this accimmodation? Tell us more about it
Hi Dan, always wanted go to Bali (think it would have perfect for me 20 years ago) but before covid I always thought way to commercial and touristy for me although I can and know why, everyone know how wonderful it can be and the culture and people are likeminded.
Great thoughts Robert.
Fantastic living, enjoy your life who knows where it will take you. Very good Dan and bobby. Ty.
Great words of wisdom....
Thank you Charles.
Hi, Dan enjoyed your video. I was shocked at the rent price being so cheap. I would be interested in seeing a cost of living comparison between Bali and Thailand. Given the Bali numbers, I think I know who will win.
Take care Say Hi to the Mrs :)
GOD Bless you and yours. M
Both are artificailly low right now because of the health crisis is reducing travel.
Very good Dan and Bob. Makes me want to go back to Bali. I've only been there once before. Bob, can you help me find a good rental deal like yours?
Everything is possible. Make dure you look onto the visa requirements first, flight, covid shots/ quarantine and so forth. Before you consider a place to stay. Lodging is easy

Me too. Bobby is great!
How would the job and taxes work for an IT remote job?
Depends upon your home country and where you decide to relocate ... and whether you establish residency or are a slow traveler like me. It also depends on the treaty, if any, your home country has with where you relocate. That is why I don't give tax advice. lol. This is an interesting read if you are an American: www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/013015/how-can-i-avoid-paying-taxes-my-social-security-income.asp
How is traveling everywhere with COVID
It feels pretty much the same. You just follow the local rules and you'll be fine. If you try to make your own rules it could be uncomfortable. In most of the world people respect the advice they get from doctors, so they wear their mask, social distance, and get the vaccine as soon as it is available. Its not really a political thing in most countries.
you need to have a vaccine in Indonesia?
Here is my resource for those kinds of questions. www.kayak.com/travel-restrictions/indonesia
I don't like Ubud because of the taxi mafia. Getting an uber is difficult there
Thanks for your thoughts Paul. I usually just rent a scooter when I am on Bali. :-)
Warungs are the best places eat.. I am curios about how much is the tax for retired bules?
I don't know. I have never stayed long enough to find out. :-) Better contact an accountant if you are retiring there. Or ask in one of the Facebook expat groups for indonesia.
is the visa and stay permit annual? someone told me they thought it was only 30 day visa stay?? i would love to retire there.... are there any jobs for retired english teachers?

My heart just broke...Bobby has a girl friend🤣🤣😭😭😭
I think he is single now.
Why was the visa hard to get?
Not once he got the right agent. See the link in the notes below the video.
Hey Dan, not Bali, what city did he say he was living in?
Bali is an island. I have not been to where he lives on Bali. I will email him and find out.
Dan do you know if gay couples safe in Bali if they aren't open about it? Thx!
I didn't really know. But Qiang says yes. If you are not open about it, you are fine.
i have been in china 6 years i would like to visit is there a visa required for just a week trip? thanks for your help
I explained that here: vagabondbuddha.com/the-new-bali-entry-requirements-is-it-worth-it/
Just double check since this is about 40 days ago.
Just letting anyone watching who hasn't been to Ubud before,it's nowhere near the sea.
Yes, it is 31 minutes by scooter from the beach, but that is because it is in the mountains where it is cooler. So many prefer to live there. :-)
What is the city name he moved to?
Singaraja. It's part of the area called Buleleng Bali
Thanks for helping with the spelling here Bobby.
Interesting & useful.

I would like to check out living in Bali, but I believe they are not taking tourists

83 bucks for a place, hmmmmmm, hard to believe that!!!
15,000 idr for 12 months $1,038.80
Very low indeed. I wonder if it was in part to just get someone paying rent during the current health crisis? I forgot to ask Bobby that.
Happy to find your channel, and experienced travel expert is what I need... My situation is highly unique, I have a show called bucket list due to a terminal illness.still healthy and have lived in Asia last year oh, and the question I have is this....
I love culture and motorcycle touring, my bike still in Cambodia. Where would you go 4 that sort of richness and beautiful young women that are going to accompany me and potentially take good care of me. All this on Social Security. Look at Uruguay and would like to finish my tour in Asia what are your thoughts thank you kindly in advance..
The Philippines is by far the best for beautiful women willing to date older men but it is not open yet. Maybe tour up through Lao and then down through Vietnam? Head to the Philippines as soon as it opens.
$83 a month?!? Wtf
BALLY Indonesia. Love his pronunciation lol
15 000,000irp per year. Irs a 3 bedroom. You can get a two bedroom for less
Yes, he is living a local life. Plus it is covid prices right now.
I have a couple of questions. I am a type two diabetic and I take different medication, I’m also on TRT where would I get my medications ? I am retired and I want to be an expert preferably in Southeast Asia. Thank you and God bless.
@@cosmo1eleven855 I appreciate the information, thank you and God bless you my friend.
@@Optimusbellumdomitor thank you so much, I was very worried about getting my medication’s . I truly appreciate it my all the information I can get. God bless 🙏🏻
