Another Reason why I love don! I feel seriously bad for beating him after he already got the world belt for Title Defense, especially since he is back to his original happy state
Looking back at his Title Defense behavior, I realize now that Don used to care in Contender Mode. He used to respect his opponents, despite their failures to defeat him. Plus, look closely at Contender King Hippo, and you'll notice the Starmen from the Mario franchise are on his undershorts.
I like how the scene can be viewed differently. In Contender you can see the full exagerrated pathetic German sterotype with old Wolfenstein vibes. Then in Title Defense you can see he cuts the shit but stays in his routine, but even in his victory of using this military style you can see he starts to take himself less seriously with a last hearty laugh after his Goose-step routine.
I love how even the referee has some fun animations showing his personality in these. It's not much but little stuff like him trying so hard to lift TD Sandman's arm is just fun to see.
Don Flamenco is probably the most respectful (Pre-title defense) as he lays a rose on Mac's chest and just says "good-bye", instead of taunting him (to his face at least)
The fact that some of the opponents prepared Dances 2:11, Tricks 2:29, And...whatever Aran's doing 2:23... For their Title bout victory shows just how much incredible charm and personality they all have!
Glass Joe winning in Title Defense makes me genuinely feel happy for the guy. He won after 100 losses and him needing a head guard just so he could box via recommendation of his doctor.
I love both of Glass Joe's victory animations, the first one he does his wimpy little flexes with the goofy laughs and it's like "Lol you sux" And his Title Defense animation shows him as the happiest man on Earth after not only beating you, but gaining the world champion title.
If you lose to Glass Joe, maybe find a different game to play. Granted, Title Defense Joe is slightly harder but you had to have already beaten Sandman to get to him. :P

Also after all these years I noticed something interesting about the victory themes of each opponent- it's literally the same theme just done with different themes and instrumentals to compliment the opponent's origin and personalities- like Von Kaiser having that military ring to it or Piston Honda's japanese undertones or even Sandman's heavy rock musicals.
