My playstyle is more for shooters than melee, so there are certain armors at launch I don't really want to play...well until I at least get a lot of practice to be comfortable with them... That being said I do have a favorite for each of the three roles. From the assaults, it's really a hard pick between either Deadeye or Vigilant. Deadeye is a very simple class, and it looks decently strong on video too...but that can be suggestive considering all footage is taken on a training field, so DPS may be weaker in reality... Vigilant I may be strongly leaning towards in favor against Deadeye. While I'm not the most proficient with snipers, at least Vigilant does have a nice freezing ability to help set up shots for big damage...but it also does look like it does require extensive knowledge of finding enemy weak points to maximize damage, and in the heat of battle that can be difficult to do on your own without support from tankers... Barrage looks okay on paper, but it's damage looks to be less than desired in the video...but who really knows, things could change in online... It's probably more specialized as a crowd controller, hitting and killing multiple enemies at once, which can be a big plus against hordes which I think appears more often than fighting singular enemies/bosses. Since Krieger is the only tank class that uses guns, this would be something I would use in this class...but I will admit that Roadblock does pique my interest with it's good tanking abilities and will likely be the only melee armor I would use out of all other melee armors... Krieger's kit looks really fun with its minigun, shields, and stun missiles. While being able to hurt your enemies and heal your allies with your weapons (and some, if not all, abilities that can also do double duty) is a neat concept, I feel like it'll lose in very desperate situations when your backs are against the wall, and if the heals from shooting at your allies isn't strong enough to keep up... That being said, however, I really do like the Nimbus, if really for more of it's slick (but also funny) movements when firing it's weapons...but it does look to be a more technical class that requires good deal of practice since you have to mode switch between hurting enemies or healing your allies (Or I suppose it could be possible to focus strictly on healing while the others do the damage to make things easier) in order to be as proficient as possible and not make too many mistakes... I'm also interested in the Witchdoctor as it's simpler than the Nimbus, but it's weapon, while it is capable of stunning enemies at a reliable rate, getting up close and personal at swarms of enemies is a bad idea...especially when the swarms of dinos becomes really big... I can see good potential in Skywave, but it really doesn't tug my interests as much as the other two, sadly... However, the most important thing that we need to remember, is that during play we're not locked in using one armor throughout entire missions, and being able to change armors at any given time (Theorically) is a very good feature so that way people won't get either eventually bored or believing that they screwed up if they bumped into a part of the mission that they're having a lot of trouble in without using a certain armor. I feel like this game does have potential to be really good; I'm definitely looking forward to the reviews to see how well it goes in a few weeks.
Personally Vigilant ismy least favorite. Low rate of fire and a sniper vs melee hoardes don't work well in my experience. I thought melee would get killed quickly but melee classes are actually really fun and get me my most kills rushing in and taking out waves with multiple hits at once!
