Woodturning - Did I make the right resin colour choice for this vase?

- Woodturning a stunning hybrid vase out mallee burl wood and epoxy resin. I went with a rather extreme colours (at least for me) and tried a new colour with some great pink metallic effects. Once it was shaped on my woodturning lathe some textured was made on the outside then hours of sanding could begin and eventually sprayed it with several layers of clear gloss lacquer.

The color is fine. However personal preference would be something more translucent/transparent. The mallee burl has so much texture it seems a shame to hide it.

Great vase. I like the color. Purple seems to be a great color in resin as long as it's a bit on the subtle side. I'm one who likes faded more subtle shades of different colors.

I like the color; it's very subtle. I can actually see this in my home. As much as I appreciate the bolder colors used in many of the woodworking/resin channels, I rarely envision the pieces working with my decor.

That is a good color choice. It works well with the burl which darkened slightly with the spray lacquer.

Amazing. Just surprised you didnt use the live edge as the outside.
Color is fine. If you were to have added Hypershift to the resin it would have improved the color.
I think turquoise might’ve had a better contrast/pop for the burl

A gorgeous piece but not with all those grooves, perhaps 2 around the neck with a space in between....
Colour choice like music is highly personal, it can severely limit the participating audience. Example: Caroline van der Leeuw used to perform as Caro Emerald in the tradition of Swing to much acclaim; she is now performing as "The Jordan" with a more melancholic modern style, the affects of which is reduced recognition and sales. The colour you have chosen is quite mute, it is probably less likely to offend the majority, but for a few their preference is for something bolder, and eye-catching; I've always been drawn to fire colours (white heat, through yellows, oranges, and through to Crimson reds) whilst there is an attraction towards iridescent greens and blues when telling physical stories of Orb shaped landscapes.
I like the color but not so much the design. I don’t think all the ridges compliment the wood or the epoxy. A smooth finish would highlight them more. Maybe a few ridges at the base and one on the top so there was more smoothness on the body to see the beautiful wood and the hypershift color.

Secret answer to your question in the title: If you think it's the right color, then it IS the right color!
The shape and color are too grandma for my taste, but the workmanship is amazing.
Never lied to you before and not gonna start now. Nope, not a fan of that colour at all. But, this is a rarity so there is that.
