Magnets, Marbles, and Ping Pong Balls!

  • A giant marble run with some chaotic tricks mixed in.
    Watching this is so relaxing to me. The sounds and adventure give an almost ASMR like experience.
    Everything that can go wrong while building these will go wrong, but I still love the process. The most difficult section for me to time was at 0:45. There's a quote that says the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. I suppose with how many attempts it took me to do this I am insane.
    I drew in landscapes to give it a bit more personality. I'm no artist but you have to admit that was a good tree XD. Let me know if you'd like to see more videos like this. I have tons more ideas!

    Some of these were even cooler than the original video! I especially loved the timing trick where the marbles weigh down the pulley, and the ball bounces off the side of the log that falls into place. I also loved the little circular magnets near the beginning that would stick to the side and roll around. The trick where the magnets spun around and got stuck into place was also very impressive, but my favorite clip of all was the one where the ping pong ball rolls into the gap, and the magnets on the sides fly in and hold it in place for the ball to roll over the top of it. I also over the idea to draw in arrows and pictures and stuff. I could really tell that your style of building showed through in this as well. Amazing job!

    I am very curious at what angle this whiteboard is to allow the marbles to roll from top to bottom, but also have ping pong balls roll from bottom to top on a wedge...

      Imagine a whiteboard parallel to the floor then tilt it about 40 degrees. This allows gravity to carry the balls down ramps while not being so strong that they just flat out fall straight down.

    • @IAmAriontor
      @IAmAriontor 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Given the fairly narrow angle of the ramps to the table, I’d say the angle of the whiteboard can’t be more than about 5 degrees.

    • @GageMason
      @GageMason 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@IAmAriontor Check out his self assembling pixel art video. It shows the angle that the board is set. Looks to be about 35-40 degrees to me, not 5.

  • @sivad1025
    @sivad1025 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I love the lack of direction. It's so mesmerizing to watch things fall when you don't know how gravity is affecting it.

    The landscape is beautiful! Shading may or may not be necessary but it still gave a "the adventures of metal ball" kind of feel.

  • @cwdreactions
    @cwdreactions 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    YES! YES YES YES! This was insane! I absolutely loved the one where the magnet chain formed a bridge to block a ping pong ball, the one where it caught the ping pong ball and used it as a gap filler, and also the cylinder block one. The circular magnet launcher was also really cool! I also thought that the drawing element of each clip is really creative too!

    Hey, I love the videos. I have a question though, what is the perspective of the camera vs the table? It's bugging me that I can't figure it out, especially since the balls don't move in the way I'm expecting them to, if that makes sense.
