I did get some gems! Was very lucky
The 'new' hdt yes i repect, but man the proper 80s hdts were raw and of a different breed. My brother had an 83 vh hdt. Yeah he wrote it off, but it was raw. All driver aids were the driver themselves.

Man, in a proper 80s hdt, your review will say nothing about interior comforts, handling or anything. They're just raw. The only sort of oddity in the vh atleast, the internal button to pop the boot is in the glovebox.
@greg my first car was a VK and it had the yellow button in the glovebox, was too scared to press it for a month or so…then I did and the boot opened 😂 I was hoping for ejector seats!!
A suspended driver who used to have 2 of those Ute’s has been in a car built the same year as ZacBaldy’s old XR6 Turbo
Damn that VZ HDT is so bloody loud with full exhaust system at the back of the car man and the inside of the car looks awesome oh yeah mate 😱😱😯😯😯😘😍🥰😎🤑

Vz's are so good looking that you can't blame somebody for choosing one over even the gorgeous Vf.
Vz and vf are easily the best looking commodore models. I mean, even HDT upgrade can't save the VE, but doing it to a vz makes it extra booootifuullll.

Yeah VZ looks the best to me too, from a Ford perspective too.
I'm the opposite always thought the vy and vz looked a bit plain tail lights especially everyone to their own I guess.

Vz on top. I’m my opinion, they have a better interior than ve the. The ve auto shifter and handbrake look yuck, and they have so many blind spots
i will always pick a VZ
Ve is a much better chassis. Handles so much better than the vx-ve. Rear end has struts rather than separate shocks not sure what to call it but it functions like a double wishbone of sorts.

That 60e is shifting anything but quick…if you want faster sharper shifts you really need the 80e or th400. I wish some would make a controller for the 6l80 trans.
It’s better than from standard I feel like with the shift kit but still of course not as good as a proper t400

Was this a custom hardlid? Or just a Hdt Vl/Vk spoiler on a hardlid?

Is that a walkinshaw spoiler on the back?
No it's a VK Grp A rear spoiler that was customized to fit the Holden hardlid, Sides were shaved and fibreglass added to the front of it, also because the spoiler covers the key locks on the hardlid it is opened and closed by actuators. It is not a cheap thing to do at all. Hope this helps you out 👍🏽

Vz Ute's look phat as fuck. But to say that thing compares to the white ve you said was covered in add ons.. the ve wild leave it for dead. My ve ss wagon with uprated tuned would eat it.. buts a beautiful car for sure.. just be careful how you rate v8 power lol your a turbo guy so you don't get it. Reviewers are cute if something is shiny. The vz is a beast though.. shame it's an ls1

Its tuned to 500hp at the crank, so yes it would smoke a VE SS. Wdym
@@kers225abk2 The ute even got a better time in the wet than the VE got in the dry and he had to feather it. So imagine the time it would have got in the dry.
Yeah, you're on crack if you think a 6L VE with a tune is gonna keep up with a VZ ls1 with cam/heads/intake. He would leave you for dead. It's people like you who act like their ve with cat back and a tune is a 10 sec car who give VE owners a bad name lmao
Engine bay is nice, sounds wicked, interior looks great except diamond stiching which is way out of date and i have no idea why it's still done. But the exterior looks like a parts bin special unfortunately. Still a nice car though

Was a good launch, but pity it didn't shift any higher then 5000rpm on the 1 - 2.

@@gonebush843 most were when they were built before someone bought it not years after they were sold,like the ve retros had a certain genuine number built,does that mean everytime someone chucks hdt parts on one the build numbers go up?and so if I chuck hdt parts on a vs statesman and get hdt to put it in the computer I have a build 1 of 1 genuine hdt?🙄

What difference does a b&m quick shift make? My car is cammed, hi stall, otr, difillippo exhaust. I can change my gears manually. Sounds like bullshit.

It is at the crank it's not at the rear wheels. 500hp at the crank = 373 kw, 406hp at the wheels = 303rwkw. There are plenty of LS1's out there with this power. I think you got confused between the crank and the rear wheels.

pretty funny thats not a HDT its an improved which you buy some parts purchased from HDT and pay them $300 they will send you an improved badge apart from that HDT havent been anywhere near the car HDT DO NOT DO UTES so stop the wankery and learn what your talking about the improved so call HDT are a dime a dozen find a 6lt VZ ute then you've got a rare beast and a collectable car

Just if you knew what you were talking about with the HDT Ute's they have built, did you forget about the HDT Magnum Ute that was built by HDT. Yes this vehicle is a HDT Improved ute but it is not as simple as what you make it out to be, VE's are so much easier to make improved than the VZ, HDT don't make many parts for the VZ so a lot on this ute has been customised with HDT parts, also HDT have built a crewman as well but you probably didn't know about this and the crewman is not an Improved Version either. It is a Champion Edition. Either way this vehicle is a beautiful car and is on the HDT registry.
