If their blood is as thick as it sounds, with 2 livers, it might denote that they also have a very sturdy "hide" which could lead to so resistance to fire for short periods of time.
Their resistance to fire may simply be an ambient force ability they evolved over time. They are one of the most force sensitive species in the galaxy, it stands to reason they would possess some latent force shield ability that might be instinctual in nature, a form of natural tutiminus if you will, that protects them from energy but isn't controllable. As for why they have this ability? they live on a giant tree filled planet with oxygen... forrest fires would be a HUGE and frequent threat to any species, and just like earths forrests, the species evolved way to defend against and even thrive from fire. Throw the force into the mix and using it to protect from fire makes sense.
Consumers of sulfur as or like a drug could make them impervious to fire as they crave the burn inside and out. Their thick leather like skin could be thick enough that it takes focused super high temperature to burn or really effect them at all.
I'd imagine the flame resistance is just hinting at male Devaronians having exceptionally thick, durable skin, not actual flame resistance. That would explain why the Devaronians would evolve away the fur on their males, because while fur is a better armor than human skin, it wouldn't help as much for Devaronians. And who knows, they probably had truly abominable threats to deal with if they had to evolve such drastic sexual dimorphism.
8:35 i havnt looked through the comment section so sorry if someones already said it but the reason that burg could withstand that flamethrower was because of his species. As you said before they take "sulfur" and use it like a drug. Well sulfur is technically a by product of some sort of heat so theres a connection there. :) i could nerd out more but i cbf, enjoy
A fun bit of Devaronian head cannon. Since Star Wars was a long time ago and far, far away, I like to think of some Devaronians reaching Earth thousands of years ago, meeting early Humans who they had a negative interaction that led Humans to base some ideals of devils off of them, without remembering why. The Devaronians left for more adventures elsewhere. But Man remembers. Arthur Clarke wrote "Gaurdian Angels" which was expanded into the novel "Childhoods End", on similar themes.
they should have made the devaronians evolve on a stereotypical firey or dessert world. i give points on trying to think out the box but yea it keeps stuff like them having fire resistance make no sense and other cool fire/heat based traits they could've had.
Devaronian culture seems similar to Dathomirian culture; the main difference being that Devaronian males more often than not deserved to be treated the way they were treated by the females. Dathomirian culture is like some kind of flipped version of what feminists want you to think human society is irl, except a bit worse, too. To the nightsisters, the nightbrothers were barely more than sex slaves who all lived on the other side of the planet.
This is so interesting!! Are there any devaronian Jedi that you know of?? Canon or legends. Can you continue this series and explore the other species that we saw in the Mos Eisley cantina?? ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
He's a footnote of a reference, but in the Consular storyline's first chapter of SWTOR there's a Devaronian male Jedi in the Noetikon device. Can't recall his name, but there's that.
They probably gain this resistance to fire during the primordial era where they started to evolve and evolved to survive hell but it started to cool down and life appeared
Interesting thing about Deveronians learned in the book Star Wars: Death Troopers, their blood is silver based, and thus they can become easily addicted to certain kinds of drugs which eventually cause liver damage.
I remember one I met as a mercenary on star wars old republic. Chased him all around tattooine, was fun, burned, blasted and probably more to his fake body. And got a fellow merc as well.
Fire resistance//maybe their thick blood and sulfur ingestion perhaps mixed with ancient past which might have been vulcanism mixed in with the Jungles? just a shot in the dark.
I get scared of a lot of things. But that is just because I startle easily.! But while I respect the fact The species can be dangerous, they are not the species I fear the most. The blue shadow plague is far more likely to frighten me. It attacks everything. And you cannot reason with it or truly control it. Scary. No offense but it really is far more dangerous.
It's possible that a planet like Devaron would have conditions similar to the Earth during the Carboniferous, during which forest fires were more common due to a higher oxygen content in the atmosphere.

No they’re different species it will be a mutated fuck

Their resistance to fire may simply be an ambient force ability they evolved over time. They are one of the most force sensitive species in the galaxy, it stands to reason they would possess some latent force shield ability that might be instinctual in nature, a form of natural tutiminus if you will, that protects them from energy but isn't controllable. As for why they have this ability? they live on a giant tree filled planet with oxygen... forrest fires would be a HUGE and frequent threat to any species, and just like earths forrests, the species evolved way to defend against and even thrive from fire. Throw the force into the mix and using it to protect from fire makes sense.
all that because Lucas wanted more aliens in the cantina and a guy in the back told him, he had a spare devil mask
Always brought me joy killing the bartender in the jekk jekk tar
I think the Devaronians are an interesting species to say the least!!! And I’d love to dive deeper into their culture!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
3:48 devaronian taking in a big wiff of rotten eggs: aw yeah! That's tje good shit!
'he loved music but not as much as murder' oh my god the delivery made me chuckle
When you talked about where the devaronians were from I was getting serious dougsdale dimmidome vibes
Hellboy's FAMM
Hell yea! Devaronians are a badass species! Kinda bummed that Villie isn’t canon anymore.
next please do a vid on zabraks
Prince Oberyn..
Nice nod. The Viper was one of my favorites
8:27 didn't you also say they use sulfur as a drug?
that was a criminal misrepresentation of Malloc's story.
Purge them in HOLY FIRE
They probably gain this resistance to fire during the primordial era where they started to evolve and evolved to survive hell but it started to cool down and life appeared
Love how the newest addition to this species is the voice of mr crabs clancy browns the fucking man
Can you do one of these on the werewolf species?
That devaronian just might have had a high pain tolerance, he did seem to be a walking tank.
9:05 AAAH HA HA HA HA HA!!! I DIDN'T SEE IT BEFORE. YEAH, THAT, THAT'S GONNA HURT TOMORROW, NO MATTER WHAT. SULFUR, MAN, GOOD STUFF!
Geetsly how much Dungeons and Dragons have you played?
Nice video
Interesting thing about Deveronians learned in the book Star Wars: Death Troopers, their blood is silver based, and thus they can become easily addicted to certain kinds of drugs which eventually cause liver damage.
still waiting for SWTOR to release Devaronians as a playable race.
I would would also be in fear if the devil just casually walked into my local cantina.
"The ins and outs of the procreation process of the devaronians" HA
I remember one I met as a mercenary on star wars old republic.
Chased him all around tattooine, was fun, burned, blasted and probably more to his fake body.
And got a fellow merc as well.
They just never met Gault
I wouldn't call them SW's "answer" to Hellboy and D&D's Tieflings, as they predate both of them by well over a decade.
Cool race thank you for making the video
Thanks ! I've wondered about that since I saw one in the First Star wars at the Bar !
Perhaps forest fires on Deviron were common enough that in order to survive they had to evolve fire resistant skin...?
Sounds fare.
Hi i love ur battle front vids
So basically,if you aren't an extremely powerful person,or haven't pissed one off recently, they're safe to make friends with
Star wars: imma just steal this real quick. From various other things everywhere
What if Maul was as tall as Savage Opress and had horns like these? Or what if Marka Ragnos was half Deveronion, not half human?
These guys would make great Jedi
I hope one of Mando's next opponents in season 3 is an Anzati. Those mothers are genuinely scary.
If it looks like a demon, smells like a demon, bleeds like a demon.....its a demon
FOR THE EMPEROR!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't believe it took me almost 3 min to remember that's Darth Maladi's species
If they can use large amounts of sulphur as a drug and not die, eating flamethrowers should be a walk in the park.
It's possible that a planet like Devaron would have conditions similar to the Earth during the Carboniferous, during which forest fires were more common due to a higher oxygen content in the atmosphere.
Perhaps it would be worthwhile for a crimelord to have a contingent of Devaronian bodyguards armed with Vibro swords.
