    Queen Elizabeth was present at this service and apparently, she did sing America's National Anthem, but unfortunately, she is not seen singing in this footage. This was considered an unprecedented gesture of sentiment.

      @@sussex33 It's because here in America, the UK is commonly associated with English traditions and accents, even though it is more than just England. Quite a bit of people over here have not looked at a map of the UK and seen the other kingdoms (which are Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland (I think that's a kingdom of its own) for those who didn't know).

    • @whuforever8088
      @whuforever8088 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@thecornerdude2361 Actually Wales is a principality and Northern Ireland is a constituent country - the terminology is controversial, as it is also variously described as a province or region. Only England and Scotland are historical kingdoms. In the past, when the whole of Ireland was part of the UK, Ireland was also a kingdom. Even classifying things as such is not quite right though as there is no real English or Scottish kingdom ever since the Acts of Union 1707, because they are under one United Kingdom.

      I am actually nauseated by this. I used to have pride in this country, now I'm physically ill from it. I just put myself in the position of innocent families and children all over the world, especially the middle east; whose homes have been torn apart by this ghastly bloodthirsty savages that we are supposed to call a military. This isn't even coming from me. Military veterans themselves have admitted the unforgivable atrocities they committed to innocent people overseas. And I am obligated to bow down and respect them. And what's more amazing, is that innocent middle eastern civilians, the Mai Lai, Haditha, Nisour, victims sure did not receive that "unconditional right to life" that the right-wing circus spews on about.
      So the next time you get teary-eyed hearing this anthem, millions of innocent people all over the world from different points in time were slaughtered for nothing more than profit and control.
      This post 9-11 memorial from England seems so heartwarming but right after that: countless thousands of innocent men, women, and children were murdered, raped, tortured, and bombed by us. Multiple thousands more were killed than the 6,700 bloodthirsty savages that died in Afghanistan and Iraq.

      I was 7 when it happened, and I remember my mom crying as I watched the news footage of the building being demolished, (that is what I thought was happening) I thought she was just sad because she liked the building, because she had studied architecture, it wasn't until the following day at school I understood people were in the buildings as they came down. Even at seven years old it made me want to join the military and help fight the people responsible, sadly as I grew up I learned the wars we fought after that tragedty didn't have much to do with that, I saw the country change in many ways not for the better, and my sister born that year, lived her whole life with our country at war in one place or another. it made me sad she couldn't see the country as it was at peace, befor this happend. but as with all things time moves on.
