My test to see if you have a job or a master:
    1. Is your job your pathway to value / validation?
    2. What would I even doooo if you didn't work?
    3. Does your job reciprocate your loyalty?
    4. Does your job control your access to healthcare? And do you have to access that healthcare BECAUSE of the stress from your job?
    5. Does your job control other ways you make money?
    6. Is your job a means to an end or an end itself?

On the phone with someone RIGHT NOW who, at the age of 58, just learned that her company's ENTIRE U.S. division (standardized exam writers) is now required to either resign immediately with a generous severance package or stay on and risk being fired sans package. She initially panicked but then calmed down. She's going to take the package. NOTE: They've been given ONE WEEK to make a decision. All I could do was quote Stephanie Perry: "These jobs ain't loyal."

I started watching your program to free myself. I took a job for insurance, but stayed after I switched to Medicare. I could have retired, but stayed even though I was doing okay. I kept asking myself, what would I do. I finally realized I was using the job as a crutch. They wanted to keep me and treated me well, I figured. But just like the nice master, it’s all an illusion. There’s no such thing as a nice master. A nice master wouldn’t take away your freedom. So I looked at the calendar and thought of Juneteenth and the souls who continued to work after slavery ended. I watched a few of your videos, and then I retired later that day.
My question: What will I do. I still don’t know the answer to that question, but I know it doesn’t involve work.
    Thanks, Stephanie.

The silence in the chat is because you are dropping truth bombs. It's a wake-up call. The more of us that heed the call, the more questions we ask and the more solutions will be found. I agree that we should start on an individual level and it will affect the collective.

After being a Science teacher, Dishwasher, Cashier, Technical Support Agent, Sales woman, Secretary, Certified NursingAssistant, Driver. I realized its our society that tries to ingrained this concept that a job can give you value. I never felt valued by my jobs because they always paid me barely enough. Exposed me to disease, death, and belittlement. All things I could have lived without before experiencing them. I went through the military, medical lab, nursing homes, education system and call centers. But I see how we attach our identites to titles/income. I felt like the person they used to compare themselves to. Thanks for this video, I have been there. As a Haitian woman my identity was found in being married/finding a man/job. But I am glad we are able to process through these mindsets.

That is so true and it’s such an American thing. I was on a tour recently, on the first day at lunch, “what do you do?”. Same trip, a few days later, I’m at an airport sitting next to a black couple, we’re chatting, then came the question “what do you do?”. What does it matter? The odds of any of us ever seeing each other in life is next to zero, so who care what work anyone does back home. As Americans it’s ingrained in us. We, individuals have to make a conscientious decision stop doing that.

100% agree tired of having a master. People really do treat you according to your work status. There is so much competition in the work place for status to feel more powerful than their colleagues and others in society. You are your own brand, not your job title.

You can get a TEFL certification on any online TEFL course. In order to start teaching online most companies want you to have at least 120hrs TEFL certification. Most courses give you 1 year to complete the course, so it's possible to work and study for your TEFL part-time.

      @gierk27 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

@@earthlycolorbrown6246 Because TEFL courses are recognised all over the world, whatever course you find in your country will be recognised. Once you get your certification you can teach anyone that wants to learn English from any country whether it's online or in person. If you are planning to move to another country to teach, its best to research their requirements. Some language schools may require minimum 120hrs TEFL certification plus 2 years experience, while some just want the certification and you get experience on the job. You don't need to know the language of the students as they would likely have some basic understanding of English and your job is to help them build vocabulary and help with grammar.

I went back to work last year, with purpose to save money to leave and travel. Revised it to pay for my 70 birthday celebration, take advantage of their paying of training (why would they want to spend funds on a retiree?) in cities around the US that I wanted to go visit. You have taught me to maximize it and extend it to the weekends and play tourist. Job is very little stress and I keep it that way. Goal: leave in 8-10 months and hit the road 😃

Even in education they fire teachers. They balance the budget on teachers backs. Esp if you’ve worked +25 yrs. It’s cheaper to higher new teachers just out of college then keep master teachers. When the economy gets tough states will layoff, for example the financial crash of 2008-2009. Major layoffs in LA, SF & SD.

I have known for awhile I have been treated like a slave and today like a criminal. But what now, I only have a couple of years left? I am so upset. I want to quit today. I have had enough. The anger and frustration has been around for awhile and I let a lot of stuff slide because of the pay. But this video brought out the true nature of what’s going on.

The reason we feel like we need the job is because we need health insurance. The only reason we need insurance is because it is so expensive. Most other places have affordable cash healthcare or universal healthcare and you don't need insurance. You can have insurance here and still go bankrupt if you need to use it. Not to mention, it's better healthcare that is human driven rather than profit driven.
Another driver of the volunteer slavery/job is that we have been indoctrinated to believe we have the best healthcare. It's not even close. According to the WHO (not that it is that credible) we are ranked 38 out if 191.

11:37 I came back to listen to what I missed and what you are saying is SO important. There is so much programming of identity and work IN ORDER to make us better, more compliant WORKERS not human beings. Linking rest with laziness, giving incremental rewards for good behavior with the pat on the back of a title or office and you go home either devastated or in elation or some shape in between because of how things were at work influencing how you enjoy your actual free time to just be a human. I love how you are sharing this information with us women. I want this freedom for black women. I live in freedom; every moment of my day is determined in the moment, no schedule, no obligation. I may have something I am responsible for but it is done when I most feel like doing it not because I made myself do it or have to do to stave off anxiety.
We can be free. Are we willing to unlearn, to take our leap?

We want out! Life abroad can be better and so many have shown Us how! So what is the first step out of a toxic relationship with punching in and out.

Hello and Belated Good Morning, Ladies 🙏🏾✨❤️🪷🌞. Hello Stephanie 👋🏾. I have more than one “No.” I don’t feel valued. I can’t grow or try other things. I feel put in a box with a title that doesn’t define me. I feel disrespected as a Genxer and overlooked, and undervalued. I get off work late and tired when I get home.
