    The figures you give, are they in USD or CAD? might be a dumb question sorry, doing my homework and planning to move my family from Florida to Canada and looking at the Orleans Ottawa area.

      Not a dumb question at all ! All the figures are in CAD. What brings you in Ottawa ?

      @@HenrickMathieu looking for a better quality of life for my family and better school system. Too many school shootings here in the US and bad gun control among other factors. My money will go alot further in Canada. I Airbnb properties for a living and so I can work from anywhere, my wife has her own online shop on Etsy and is quite successful. I have read many great things about Ottawa and have done some research and it has the best quality of alot other places I've researched. Looking to shed some debt in the next year or two before making a move. Also looking to visit later this year or next just to get a feel of the place.

    May I ask you where are you from originally? I'm thinking about moving to Canada from South Africa. I'm an estate agent and wondering if I'd be able to work there. Does my qualification transfer? If you are from another country how did the move for work go for you?

    • @HenrickMathieu
      @HenrickMathieu  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      First, thank you for watching! And I'm from the french part of Canada. I took my license directly in Ontario so Im not aware of the requirements to transfer form anither country but I would assume you would have to do the course here since the rules and laws are probably very different.
      The course can be done remotely in 5-6 months if you give it a good go. Maybe a year at a slower pace.
      Hope this helps!

    And for a single is it worthy to settle in Ottawa?

    • @HenrickMathieu
      @HenrickMathieu  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mise a part le prix du loyez, Ottawa est une ville formidable et le cout de la vie est standard. Beaucoup d'emploi dans le domaine du IT , gouvernement et construction. Salaire moyen à Ottawa est au dessus de la moyenne national et provincial.
      Pensez vous déménagez dans notre coin de pays ?

      @@HenrickMathieu en fait je suis en procédure pour la résidence permanente. Du coup comme je suis seul, "single young professional" bilingual too. Donc je sais pas si Ottawa vraiment ça vaut le coup

      @@Music_Charts9 sa vaut le coup tout dépendant de ce tu recherche. Si tu compte sortir tout les soirs et faire le party, je re conseillerais peut etre plus Toronto ou Montreal. Sinon Ottawa est une magnifique ville et dequoi s'occuper !

      @@HenrickMathieu alors là, pour un jeune, je suis très casanier et l'acool me donnes des reflux gastrique hahaha. Mais dis moi, pour quelqu'un qui veut se plonger dans l'immersion totale et avoir une culture plus anglophone, quel est le quartier conseillé à Ottawa pour s'y établir ?

    • @HenrickMathieu

      Not that bad compared to ither big cities. Real estate is realistically the biggest chunk of your budget here unfortunately
