    I loved the power switching episode, where Reed got the Thing's powers, and Ben was "cured." Throughout the whole episode, Reed is completely willing to stay like that so that Ben's wish to be normal would come true. The selflessness Reed showed in that episode was amazing. Thats why, even though he may have been a bit sterotypical as you said, he was my favorite character in this show. I think it also might have helped if the show got more seasons, more characters could have gotten arcs like Ben. And perhaps even had Reed and Sue's relationship explored more. Too bad it got cancelled, so much potential there.

    I enjoyed the comedic angle this show took, but I thought it lacked depth regarding some characters and stories. I also felt they made Johnny too annoying, it was to the point where he became unlikable sometimes. The storylines were wonderfully imaginative and the show was always fun to watch. I think season two of the 90's show (after the show had a revamp due to season one being deemed poor in quality) is the best onscreen version of the Fantastic Four - The character depth, character chemistry, drama, and whimsical science are all done well. There's cheesy elements to it, but it just contributes to capturing the essence of the stories and fits right in. Some of the stories feeling a bit too fast-paced is the season's flaw.

The reason why people think it's overlooked is because there aren't many ff and iron man cartoons aside from the 90s ones to which they're second seasons are much better than the shows mentioned and because people either grew up with it and/or learned a lot of the lore and villains from those shows. Oh and not to mention Sue felt like some teen girl who can be kinda vain like when Johnny and Reed were getting attacked and she didn't want to mess up her dress and yeah Johnny's was pretty much a fucking moron in this show and his voice is annoying.

    This was a good overview and as a diehard F4 fan I approve. I'll admit; I enjoy this series but I doubt it will ever capture the spirit/ core of the Four as did Lee/ Kriby's stuff or even Hickman's run. Though, John Bryne's run is still my favorite, with Hickman's a close second and Lee/ Kriby a close third. Fantastic Four as an animated series needs to be more like an adventure scifi cartoon in the vein of Lost in Space meets Stargate/ Doctor Who with superheroes. They are explorers who seek to understand the world around them. Sure, they can save people, but ultimately that's what made them so cool. Also, they are a family. Dysfunctional at times, yes; but they always stick up for one another.

    I enjoyed this series like I did the Tim Story movies, it's enjoyable, pure fun, it's entertaining and the aspects of the characters that was done right is enough, sure it has faults but at least there's something true enough to the characters and stories, I felt we missed out on their scientific, exploratory adventures in favour for villain of the week, but the title near enough says what this show is going to be. And at the end of the day you have to remember they make these shows for kids to enjoy and be introduced to these characters and I think if they enjoy this they'd love the comics.

    I just would’ve loved if the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes team made a Fantastic Four dedicated show. Not that it would’ve entirely worked with the world they wanted to build it’s just they get every character right because they under what makes the character special. Wasp, Black Panther, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, the FF, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, I’d wager to say their best adaptations ever. It would’ve been interesting to see them focus on a different group of heroes, which is why I love the ‘New Avengers’ episode of that show. I miss Avengers EMH, I really really really hope Disney lets it come back.

I appreciated the animation and artistic design, but I feel like it was riding off of the success of the movies at the time, rather than drawing inspiration from the comics. I haven't watch this show in years, and I can admit it was a good series but it does have its pros and cons. The problem being it relied too much on the first two movies. Now the 90's series was great due to it adapting some of the FF's well known story arcs (like the Galactus Saga) but FF: WGH just didn't have that spark and I think that is why it wasn't renewed for a second season.

    I don't I ever saw even half of an episode of this more recent show, so thanks for the insight. I use to dislike how different each show & movie's interpretation was from the comics of my childhood, but now I actually like that if put next to each other you can spot who's from which version, and if ever they were to interact with their double's in time the personality differences would show to. Which is why I'd love to see them all meet up. Maybe in a tale where a FF is composed of each member being from one of the shows. The villain battle would need to be a good one naturally, but I'd really be all about the interpersonal dynamics.

I loved Johnny, Grimm was amazing, Reed was bloody relatable, and sue... Well I was like 7 and I didn't have a great relationship with my mom so I latched on. Its just... Yeah it's not a deep show, but the way it handled stuff always felt very natural to me and the villains, even doom after the 50th defeat, felt so utterly terrifying I couldn't help but be absorbed. It was the kind of show that dealt with parental abuse in a way a 7yo could understand, the kind of show that made that same 7yo face existentialism through a green man in a purple onesie, and the kind of show that you didn't have to know much about to understand. Awesome. I loved this show and never caught the Peter Parker moment. It was fun, a little cooler than the 90's one, though I'll have to look for reviews on that from your character breakdown angle. I think the Johnny Storm stuff was to have it be still fun for kids getting into it. Favorite moment: Ben Grim talking about Bruce Banner's Mom to get him to turn and then him transforming into the Hulk saying "Rock man makes fun of Hulk's Mama". It was just hilarious in the moment. I agree Ben is the soul of the show.

    The Animated Series you need to watch is Hulk: Agents of Smash and you would definitely see a Fantastic Four on a couple episodes which they are portraying exactly like they comic counterpart!

    • @marvelboi3416
      @marvelboi3416 ปีที่แล้ว

      @EdittZz It was more than a minute they had a whole episode dedicated to them and also came back for the series finale. But mainly The Thing was pretty-much part of the series.

    • @marvelboi3416
      @marvelboi3416 ปีที่แล้ว

      @EdittZz No it was the whole team as well. The thing was mainly on episodes 1.4, 1.12 and cameos on others while the whole was on 1. 24 and 2.26 bro look it up or rewatched it. This series is still fresh in my mind because I recently watch it last year.

    Serious question are the fantastic 4 just hard to adapt? Are they out of date or something? With only a couple exceptions it's like there's some sort of curse that prevents them from being as good as say spiderman or the x Men ect...
    I've yet to read the comics because I was never an avid reader till now, but something tells me I'm going to be furious after I do knowing how their movies turned out, I just want them to be done right.

      Reed said that he was currently working on a cure for it which I think he shouldn't really do because he wouldn't be as smart as he is now if he didn't have autism mind you throughout high school I wanted nothing more than to have a cure for my autism but as I got older I started to realise the positives of having it

  • @shayscruggs7829

    From watching this video that's probably why I've found it hard to get into the fantastic four mainly reed, don't get me wrong i like the other three mainly ben Grim but as for Reed he always came off as so cold like a robot. It also didn't help around this time when him and ironman started the whole civil war. They put some of their closest superhero friends in jail, create a clone of thor without him knowing,sending the hulk into space someone who he knew for years and votes to send him away like not our problem, making a supervillains in the thunderbolts to hunt down their friends who said no and heck during that time he'd doesn't even visit the human torch who is in a hospital after being attacked. You will think at least he can do that but nope he rather be facist along with tony. But you get the points reed is a very hard character for me to get into and he puts me off the title for how inhuman he is

      I actually think it would've been great if the show continued and gave the characters more dept and development in next seasons. Johnny could be annoying in the first season and could slowly develop into a little more mature personality and may even get rid of the feeling like it was relying on the movies and to slowly develop it's own universe.

  • @idongesitusen5764

    There was definite potential for good arcs if the show had one more season. The Inhumans saga might’ve moved Johnny into a slightly serious direction via his relationship with Crystal.

      1967 version: "I was hurt, humiliated, disillusioned..." - Lady Dorma of Pacifica
      Sue Storm: "So Prince Triton rejected your love..."
      Reed Richards: "I must say your timing was bad. But what then?"
      "I was heartbroken. I wanted revenge...so I betrayed him" - Dorma
      "You betrayed him??" - Johnny
      "Thaaat's a woman for ya!" - Ben Grimm
