It's probably a good idea to mention this here but the Heavy Gear RPG will be launching it's Kickstarter for the 4th edition sometime this month: www.kickstarter.com/projects/heavygearblitz/heavy-gear-roleplaying-game-fourth-edition Edit: They opened up the Kickstarter page an hour after I posted that, lmao. Links been updated.
Thanks for sharing this, it was a great video. My name is Nick and I am the RPG line Dev (lead dev) and also story lead. Feel free to messege me if you have questions or anything, I would be happy to help.
Thanks for dropping by Nick! I will think about that if I do. And congratulations to you and the team for hitting your main Kickstarter goals. I'm genuinely looking forward to see what you guys will do with the 4th ed sourcebook.
@@weldonwin it wasn't like the games at all, but it was cool for a kids show. I think it might have been made by the same people that made the Starship Troopers show as well, which imho was a lot better.
Heavy Gear seems to be a lot more 'faithful' to its inspirations than 'other stompy robot combat settings'. The premise presented, seems awfully similar to Fang of the Sun Dougram. Which, is great!
Been slowly getting into Heavy Gear Blitz and found the lack of available lore like you would see from other miniature games a missed opportunity unless you are into the RPG. This was great and need more of it!
Congrats, you made me add a box of Heavy Gear Blitz models to my collection of Tabletop games I never get to play but keep buying. Right next to the Battlemech Merc company I should've finished painting first. I hope you and your awesome videos are proud of yourselves.
So glad I came across this channel. I've been starting up army collections for North & South and joined the 4th Ed. Kickstarter. I hope you continue making quality HG content.
Gotta say in full honesty I watched the cartoon as a kid and could never find anything on it when I was older it’s incredible how many shows didn’t do these franchises justice and I can only hope this series gets a glow up just as battletech did
Believe it or not, yeah. Well, at least on my end. I wont deny I was hoping I'd be somewhere within the ballpark with the release of this video and the Kickstarter launch, but I never expected them to open up the KS page an hour after posting. It's still legit funny to me that happened.
@@heymay724 Well, some factions would be either the Gilgamesh or the Balarant, perhaps post main story of VOTOMS, given the mechs look a little more advanced. The others could be different states that have some power within each of the bigger star nations. Names of the mechs could be changed and such. I would need to do more work on it, and re-watch this video all over again. XD
There's way too much stuff in the universe to stop here, and it's Canadian, so I'm honor-bound to bring it to the masses. The trick is to find something that is within my scope to do, but HG will be awhile as there's at least a few more videos in the production queue before then.

Yes sir you have done a very good video and thank you for doing this, and nick really good for this

It's awesome to see someone do this justice. I was an early adopter of this game. I had a first edition rule book.
Speaking as someone who was only familiar with the setting from the Saturday Morning Cartoon and one of the computer games, thanks for this.
I'd played the first PC game before seeing the cartoon and... the Cartoon was weird to me having had that prior exposure

This is unreal. I've just got into Heavy Gear Blitz in the last couple of years, so cool to see something like this.

Given that gears are basically the same as the ATs in AT VOTOMS wich in of itself came from the same director at dougram, the DNA is unmistakable.
I LOVE Fang of the Sun Dougram.
Great work as always, it is always it is good to see these old games and there universes - lore get the attention they deserve.

Great video. Love this franchise and really want to see it come to other media aside from tabletop again.
This is some awesome stuff. As a fan of big robots in space, I kind of hope you one day touch on Supreme Commander's lore.
Love it Mac! Keep em' coming!
This is useful, since the only thing I know about Heavy Gear is from the animated series... which is said to be non canon.
Great content. I wish more people could see it!
Great show! Caught it every saturday morning if I could wake up around 6:30 it was one of my favorite shows growing up nice video sir!

Mac releases a HG video and a new HG RPG Kickstarter is announced. Coincidence?

An AMAZING video you MAGNIFICENT BASTARD!!!!
I thought I was the only stompy robot fan who loved this franchise.
Aaah yes, the Armored Trooper VOTOMS knockoff that could honestly be it's own separate story in the VOTOMS universe if some editing were done.
give me your own write up im interested in your own interpretation

Dude, freakin' awesome. Way to go!
I really love Heavy Gear lore, thanks for this!
By far the most epic introduction to the series.
Fantastic work!
There are inaccuracies in your video but I'm just so happy someone's giving my favourite setting some love and care. Thank you.
I won't lie i forgot about this game. I think I only played the 2nd one tho.... Love to hear about the lore tho.
The miniature wargame is getting a resurgence and a new version of the RPG just hit Kickstarter today!
Was not expecting this! Very nice surprise!
Ho-lee-shit! Yes! We *love* Heavy Gear! The mechs actually make sense, unlike in MechWarrior where they're just worse tanks with legs!
God! Thank you! More Heavy gear lore please!
Hey there I loved your home world Videos, would you please please finish part 2?
HG1 was so good
OMG Thank You
This is awesome! Fantastic job!
love your videos man! Great work! Any chance well see the Homeworld part 2 video of the Higarra?
Actually, I am working on that now with an eye towards releasing it before the start of June when Homeworld 3 was last announced to come out.
Bloody well done Mac.

Love your stuff. Keep it up.
Man i dont remember any of this from Strike Force Aloha Centaur
Look Alive gear heads, its a great lore video. Pull up a chair, watch the video and enjoy. Now let's mash some metal !!!!
Yesss it's here!
is there more HG lore planed, or was it one and done?

its so hard to find heavy gear lore
tried the wiki but its a complete joke
I REALLY WISH A REMASTER OF THE GAME WAS MADE!😓
hope this means your going to go over the Gears from this underated universe
Would you like to talk about command & conquer & Half life lore ?
Shadow Dragons, forever!
