Just asked my brother-in-law this question…his suggested formula (for KY) was 1 round bale per 10 cattle per day.
It was so dry this summer that we also had to throw the cattle a few round bales until the grass greened up.

Yeah, hay consumption differs from state to state. Kentucky has a lot better grass than we do.
