    Great reaction. Very insightful comments.
This song is so beautiful. Yuko is my favorite singer. Wagakki Band is on another level. Always amazing.

This song was composed by Ms.Yuko Suzuhana, arranged by Mr. Machiya. She writes most of the slow songs and ballads.

Hey! I didn't expect to see you here either! I think Wagakki Band is also underestimated in the same way as LOVEBITES. I'm the same as you, and the song is too good to choose, I'm really in trouble with these two bands (lol)

@@SLASH-JAPAN Yes, Lovebites and Wagakki Band have become my favorite. I discovered them around 5 years ago. They are amazing. I try to learn as much as I can about them.

Great reaction y'all. Always enjoy your inputs. I will say as a whole that the Japanese music scene, all genres, is largely overlooked and underappreciated. I feel one reason is people consistently relate it only to anime so people have this preconceived ideal of Japanese culture. Also not to say that modern US music is bad or anything because there is a place for all artist for all people, just the scene feels revolved around the same people. I just wish more people looked to other artists, without worrying about the language barrier.

I also agree yuko is probably one of the most talented vocalist her voice is soo beautiful
She remind me of Shreya Ghoshal (both are❤️) both of their voices are of goddess
I recommend this wagakki band song it's more vocal song of yuko, and machiya(guitarist)

The song is from the Tokyo Singing album 2020, which is about how we live on this planet.
Yuko Suzuhana said that the song reflects the desperation and depression of people who live in big cities.
Another good one from the Tokyo Singing album is "Eclipse". And if you want a slightly heavier song from the album, try "Guernica"

This was truly beautiful. Wow is about right. The lyrics might be sad, but the song itself is just beautiful and soothing. Her voice is fantastic, and the traditional instruments just add another layer of awesome. I enjoyed this episode very much 😊

As did we. This band is so awesome. Did you check out our other episodes covering them? If not, try the playlist in the pinned comment. Definitely a band worth following, even though they recently announced an indefinite hiatus... I hope they come back bigger and better than ever.
Thanks for once again taking the time to view and engage. Much appreciated!

@@myindieprodentertainment Yes, I've seen a few, not sure if I've seen all. This band is really fantastic. Shame they are going on hiatus, but they probably have their reasons... Let's hope they will be back 🙂

Thanks guys for another insightful reaction. This whole band is a blessing for the ears. I hope their hiatus will be a short one and I'm able to see them live someday.
This is my first time hearing this song. I look at the lyrics as a version of Romeo & Juliet. How the prejudices of family and society can destroy young love in the blink of an eye. Where love see's no race, colour or creed, but that is all our prejudices do see, and the lengths some people will go to keep them. Cheers!

I heard your reaction today in the car. I realized that the Wagakki Band's performance and Yuko's vocals were 10 times more moving with this kind of live sound source than with the Amazon Music sound source. Even though I couldn't watch the video because I'm in the car. And with my limited English listening ability, but I was moved to hear your interpretations. It was the same as my previous interpretation. Thank you. On the other hand, this lyric may not express the simple love between a man and a woman, but the deeper sorrow and despair of people suffering from the traps and evil intentions of the big city, and the fate of having to live on. I feel like that. My interpretation has recently changed by Yuko’s comments about this song and the keywords that appear in the lyric. (My own impression: Who do you want to deliver this letter to? Are you looking for help from someone who has no name?) However, Yuko said in an interview that she wants each listener to feel and interpret the meaning of this song, so it is correct that each person has their own interpretation. (from Japan.)

First, thank you for the kind words. Much appreciated! It was actually moving to read how moved you were by our reaction!
Second, yes, this is exactly why we don't research songs before reacting to them. We want our interpretation to be clean of knowing any information beforehand, which tends to change the way you see a song. It is a lot more interesting "reacting from scratch" and we can always research them more later. If we knew Yuko intent for these lyrics, we may not have come to the interpretations we ended up thinking of. We are definitely enjoying this process a lot more this way. And yes, Wagakki Band is absolutely brilliant and this song, a huge favourite!
Thank you for taking the time to view and engage. Much appreciated!

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I agree your stans of your reaction.
This is a art, so, the first impression is very important. And, each person has each experience and sensitivity.
The more diverse the interpretations of art, the more sympathy and emotion it can evoke. I think the author would happy that too. I look forward to seeing your continued reactions.

From my understanding this song was inspired by a letter a kamikaze pilot wrote to his wife telling her to forget him and move on with her life knowing that he will be going into battle one last time. If you liked this ballad then you'll love the ballad Sabaku no komoriuta also from Wagakki Band.

Great review guys. Machiya's wailing solo is just epic and phenomenal. The second siger is Machiya BTW. Yuko and Machiya sing a beautiful duet in Doppo th-cam.com/video/aGn4lHBcKuI/w-d-xo.html. Try it 'cause it's a piece of art that the music scene nowadays has lost decades ago.

I would love to see Wagakki Band in person someday but they rarely play outside Japan and I doubt I will be traveling to Japan anytime soon, if ever. They have only played in the US four times and there is a good chance that they will not be back. On April 1, US Immigration increased the cost of a performance Visa from $460 per person to $1615 per person. For just the 8 band members, the cost would be almost $13,000. Each member of the crew they bring would also have to pay, so the total could easily exceed $20,000. I can't imagine how frustrating this is to bands from Canada and Mexico. Many small label and independent bands might simply stop touring the US. Even big label bands might decide that coming to the US for a single festival or short tour is not worth the cost. Trump made bands jump through hoops to play in the US and now Biden is making them pay through the nose.

Wow! I (Itai) had no idea about this. Yeah, it makes touring (which is the bread and butter for any band today) in the U.S. A LOT LESS attractive. I hope they change that, for your sake. I'm not aware of any such cost involved with touring Australia, but I supposed it's costly just due to the long travel distance, etc. It's getting tougher and tougher to be a successful musician in this day and age, unless your whole strategy is online success, which is much more of an option than it ever was, so at least bands have that...

@@myindieprodentertainment I think about bands like Frail Fragment who I think are a Toronto band so only 2 hours from the US border. Playing a gig in Buffalo, NY could be done in a single day, yet would cost $1615 per person. Insane. I think when the cost was $460, that was still much more expensive than most, if not all, countries in the world.
