This is the second video of yours that I have seen and so far I enjoy them. I like the combination of fact and science, and speculation and fantasy. Also whatever the program is that you are running those simulations on is pretty impressive. Good work.
What exactly happens depends on a number of factors. Exactly what the mass of the black hole is, what velocity it is traveling at, which direction it comes from, where it heads after the Sun alters its course (the singularity also changes the Sun's direction of movement), where the planets are in their orbits when this all occurs, etc. In some simulations I did with about the smallest possible stellar black hole coming through as close as Mars' orbit, Earth's orbit remained almost unscathed at all while flinging Mars out of the system (Earth happened to be on the far side when it came through), and greatly disturbing the outer planets. Sometimes it would be Earth or Venus that were flung out. I think realistically, the singularity will be traveling at a fairly high velocity. It won't be in the system for long, just long enough to disturb planet orbits to varying extents that may or may not drastically alter Earth's conditions. Earth could get lucky with little change. Ummmmmmmmmmmmm where did you get that from? Black holes have been observed for a long time the only part that's a theory is what happens inside of them but the existence of objects in space devouring massive objects and energy is very real.
SubZeroZone420 dude I'm sure you're like 5 and don't even understand any of this but indeed he is right black holes are just a theory and no black holes have actually been recorded because I'm sure we don't even have the correct technology to record something like that even if it is real before being rude and giving your false opinions do some research
that's not how a small black hole would eat a star or the moon actually if the moon went head on to the black hole it'll lose it's closest parts to the black hole via spaghettification while the rest of the rest of the moon will continue it's bath around the blackhole while being reduced to rubble that fallows eventually spiral path things doesnt just disappear when they come to contact with a black hole
If an object is in a close range with a black hole the object would pass behind the black hole, if you were looking at a black hole (which is impossible because black holes are invisible) from earth your view would be so wide you can see the back of your head at one point and it will keep circling. The black hole would not swallow you, it will only swallow you if you get very close to the event horizon that is where the term spaghettification comes in. it will seem as if time slows down while you are being swallowed because the black hole has so much gravity that it you are actually time traveling because you are traveling at the speed of light and the gravitational pull makes you think time is slow instead of fast. by the way I am in grade 6 I am 11 years old using my uncle's email i have my own but its personal information.
Tommy Mulrooney "by the way I am in grade 6 I am 11 years old using my uncle's email i have my own but its personal information." Why are you saying this though?
Akram El-Masry Well it seems the dev team for universe sandbox 2 just didn't have the budget for accurate black hole collisions... a shame, really, I'm sure it would have looked cool... :|
Goku lives in planet earth.. If black hole swallows up earth, Goku will die.. Goku is ZEN-OH best friend. ZEN-OH won't allow black hole to destroy planet earth... ZEN-OH will erase the black hole.
If the smallest black hole was around, it would evaporate within nanoseconds. So what about a 5 solar mass black hole moving into our solar system? Well it wouldn't. The solar system.would be pulled to the black hole, tidal forces in effect. As the two things got close, the solar system would be thrown out of whack, and exactly how depends on the location and motion of the solar system's bodies at the time.
Really interesting anton..first chanell ive subscribed to...educational..and what a great tool for running scenarios in space..i would love to play on that..keep up d good work sir...cy.xxhull.x
same here dude, black holes are complicated as fuck thats why it makes it scary and heart-hurting. id fucking take a knife and slice my own head so i dont see myself slowly getting absorbed by NOTHING
Smart. Anyone who survived long enough into the black hole would be stuck witnessing their final moment for ever. Alive for eternity. Dead for eternity. Conscious for all eternity. And I Must Scream indeed.
Sometimes you had to take things seriously. Black Holes are truly dangerous and a danger threat to Earth and the Solar system. I'm surprised 1 haven't even shown up yet. There just wandering around in the universe, yet not 1 have entered the solar system. Unless we are all protected by God's grace. I'm just saying.
This is so inaccurate, we don't know the mass of the black hole, so we wouldn't know how much gravity it pulls on earth. Say for example the sun turned into a black hole with the exact same mass as it has now. The earth would still orbit like it always has, black holes don't just magically suck things in
The actual inaccuracies are in that the tidal forces would distort the earth and you would see different effects than there being a bunch of rocks being pulled off the earth. You would see mass fall into the black hole and probably have an accretion disk form for a short while at the least. Regardless the program is relatively simplistic in gravitational interactions that arent just orbits so no this wouldnt really be what happened but the inaccuracies wouldnt be from not knowing the mass of the black hole. Being that close to a pinprick with solar mass (one sun (which is basically a black hole in very simplistic terms (even if it would be the lowest mass black hole ever recorded))) you would see very similar effects to what you would see with something like IGRJ 17091. Think more bath water falling into the drain than the chunks being ripped off in the simulator
@@aj18341756 Yes i hav nightmares about that its unlikely but in the deep space a wandering black hole can go undetected thats fuckin scary my friends all die in a half a sec. And wouldnt even know god space is a awesome
They missed the very first effect: the surface water would have jumped from the Earth to the black hole in a steady stream before parts of the mantle started tearing loose.
Pretty sure the event Horizon is where you start not being able to see past. The name says it nothing "happens" beyond it, at least that we can observe. What do you mean by spinning disk?
Yeah,i know. And if "Event horizon" is not that spinning disc (at speed of light) Then how it's called ? Cuz i seen everyone call it like that, even my scene teachers at school.
+NOAHB_FTW 16 I mean time only ''stops'' for the observers outside the black hole Like assuming you could survive crossing the event horizon time would still flow like normal for you Or am I wrong in my understanding?
No, a mid-ranged PC struggles to handle all of these variables, a top of the line phone which is literally thousands of times weaker wouldn't even start to run it.
The 5 kilometers are not the size of the Black Hole, we can't see it anyway, it's the size of its Event Horizon. Tricky part is that the black hole itself has no size, it is a singularity. So... What Da math? well that's exactly what mathematics say, and we can't really confirm or contradict it, because of the very nature of the black hole. We can all struggle to imagine something that has no size and yet exists but obviously things are not out there to please our brains.
I would like to chime in and remark that the black hole shown has an event horizon diameter of between 13.5 and 30 kilometers. The black hole in question has a mass between 3 to 10 solar masses
World Citizen also in regards to the singularity talk, singularity is really just a placeholder term for anything that is incredibly dense and massive but we dont actually know much about how such a thing would interact. It would be more accurate to simply view a black hole as a bounded field of energy at a set location at any time, because mass and energy are interchangeable and thus energy has gravity this allows a simpler idea than an infinitely dense point with zero size because you can simply view the black hole as a highly energetic point in space that as a property of said energeticness has its gravity and event horizon and the like. We cant really know whether a black hole has a "singularity" because we dont know how to observe it. The energy model of a black hole allows the simplification of it for the sake of math
Black holes have a size. The reason they are the way they are though is that they are super dense. Basically, singularity refers to when an object reaches a density high enough to have enough gravity to not allow light to escape. Technically anything can be crushed down to the point of singularity and become a black hole.
Tim S. Agreed. Somebody had to say it. I hate universe sandbox, simply because of how BS it is. None of this stuff would happen in real life! If a black hole we’re to appear in our solar system, things would play out very differently.
Angel S. The gravitational interactions in universe sandbox are oversimplified for the most part when it comes to things that arent orbits, if you had that black hole as close to earth as it was you wouldnt so much as see chunks being torn off of the earth as you would see first the atmosphere and oceans be siphoned off, as they are pulled off this would look a little bit like water swirling around a bathtub drain, the same would also happen with the actual earth parts of Earth, you would see them similarly break apart and it again would look very much like the bathtub analogy I just used, not to mention at lets just call it something like 80k kilometers (because its significantly closer than the moon which is at 300k kilometers) you would see a drastic amount of tidal heating, this would quickly result in the surface of earth becoming molten rock. Additionally, unlike how universe sandbox depicted it, with something as high mass and in such close proximity as that black hole, the earth would become tidally locked, this means that it would complete one orbit and one rotation in the same time frame, or in laymans terms the same side of the earth would constantly face the black hole. As for how the black hole would interact with the solar system itself, well that would likely be quite similar in both the sun and planets being thrown from their orbital paths, some planets being ejected and those that remained with the sun would have highly elliptical orbits similar to mercury's and Earth's from the video. Yeah lots of people call stuff unrealistic without being able to dispute the claim with a counterclaim but I hope mine cleared it up a little, the interactions black holes have are really cool simply because of how close things can get to their center of mass (yknow due to them being incredibly small (the actual matter/energy of the black hole not the black event horizon)). Let me know if you need any clarification or if this was insightful at all.
Oh I neglected to mention that as the mass of the earth is being pulled off and into a spiral around the black hole it will begin to glow, this is due partially (and for the first one "possibly") from the friction against the other matter around it and the opposition between the black hole's gravity and the matter's angular momentum, this causes the matter to, most simply put, act as if it is being pulled by two different forces, (acting like the tidal heating the earth would experience) both of which would increase in strength as the matter accelerated in its orbit as it fell into the black hole along with the gravity's effect increasing as it comes closer to the center of mass of the black hole. This is what is called an accretion disk if you were curious to its name.
That's sum funny looking spaghettification if I ever sawn it Bro The earth model ...lost me at When massive hundred km wide chunks of our mantle are tore off and then somehow rotate around us and rain back down??!? Tidal forces would tear the atmosphere off shortly before the every drop of water was pulled off the earth, the push pull of our gravity fields within this dimensional spacetime is fubar in ur sandbox And upon ur solar system model idk gravity is equal to "C" but other than Yeah sure it all it looks entertaining and all for clickbait but until gravity and the speed of light are the same speed none of these models will be near phathomable in our three dimensions 5.75\10 (+unsubscribed +unliked previous videos I liked of yours)

not his fault the simulator isn't very accurate also the game costs 15 dollars so i wouldn't expect super accurate representations of what would happen
Actually some game creators have predicted using very far powerful computers what would happen in certain scenarios. Not all games are created equal. Garbage in garbage out, depends on the game house that created it.
another thing, he doesn't have much of an idea how the game works black hole went too fast and should have be more off-center because it was so close to the sun, it just resulted in sun + inner planets being slingshotted and because it was so fast, effect on the outer planets didn't even have time to set in had it been slower and more off-center, the sun and the planets etc would have started to orbit around it
Roderick Roderick That ruins the fun of finding out what will happen during recording. He won't sound as surprised because he knows what is gona happen.
I agree 100%. Came to the comment section just to see if I was the only one who felt like this. Won't be watching any more of these videos unless he makes changes
Really makes you feel insignificant. Earth would be destroyed that quickly by such a tiny one. And there are black holes out there billions of times larger than the sun. Unfathomable.

Akram El-Masry U know spagettifecation is just a theory so were still figuring it out by getting us in one
I love taking a bath

Black hole in orbit of Earth: Why ya hittin yourself? Why ya hittin yourself? Why ya hittin yourself? Why ya hittin yourself?
If the smallest black hole was around, it would evaporate within nanoseconds.
So what about a 5 solar mass black hole moving into our solar system? Well it wouldn't. The solar system.would be pulled to the black hole, tidal forces in effect. As the two things got close, the solar system would be thrown out of whack, and exactly how depends on the location and motion of the solar system's bodies at the time.

Smart. Anyone who survived long enough into the black hole would be stuck witnessing their final moment for ever. Alive for eternity. Dead for eternity. Conscious for all eternity. And I Must Scream indeed.
Mafia Crazed hahahaha a black hole would kill you before you even realised whats happening

Pretty scary that an invisible 5km black hole could easily destroy our solar system.
This is so inaccurate, we don't know the mass of the black hole, so we wouldn't know how much gravity it pulls on earth. Say for example the sun turned into a black hole with the exact same mass as it has now. The earth would still orbit like it always has, black holes don't just magically suck things in
This black hole is 5 times the mass of the Sun and is much closer to Earth.
What you stated seems correct.
Do black holes move around?
Angel some of them do... they're known as "wandering black holes "

Yes they do. If you like astronomy check PBS SCIENCE on youtube :)
Nothing in space is stationary.
They missed the very first effect: the surface water would have jumped from the Earth to the black hole in a steady stream before parts of the mantle started tearing loose.

the only thing i hate about this game is that black holes dont have event horizents (those disks)
XeSHShadow90 …Event Horizons*, the hell is a horizent
Dorvuzak Uzn the spinning disk around black hole,i typed it wrong
Pretty sure the event Horizon is where you start not being able to see past. The name says it nothing "happens" beyond it, at least that we can observe. What do you mean by spinning disk?
Yeah,i know.
And if "Event horizon" is not that spinning disc (at speed of light)
Then how it's called ? Cuz i seen everyone call it like that, even my scene teachers at school.
+NOAHB_FTW 16 I mean time only ''stops'' for the observers outside the black hole
Like assuming you could survive crossing the event horizon time would still flow like normal for you
Or am I wrong in my understanding?
Lmao I was SO proud when you showed that the Earth kept orbiting the sun after the black hole passed. Felt like I won something.

Using Universe Sandbox for bh simulation... ughhhhh...
Tim S. Agreed. Somebody had to say it. I hate universe sandbox, simply because of how BS it is. None of this stuff would happen in real life! If a black hole we’re to appear in our solar system, things would play out very differently.
@@atomikaI how would it play out? (Not hate, just a general question, I actually want to know lol)
Yeah please
That's sum funny looking spaghettification if I ever sawn it
Bro
The earth model
...lost me at When massive hundred km wide chunks of our mantle are tore off and then somehow rotate around us and rain back down??!?
Tidal forces would tear the atmosphere off shortly before the every drop of water was pulled off the earth, the push pull of our gravity fields within this dimensional spacetime is fubar in ur sandbox
And upon ur solar system model idk gravity is equal to "C" but other than Yeah sure it all it looks entertaining and all for clickbait but until gravity and the speed of light are the same speed none of these models will be near phathomable in our three dimensions

Not just a mushroom a fun guy okay so you explain it better than him
I didn't hear him once claim he was an expert, so I don't see your point.
Actually some game creators have predicted using very far powerful computers what would happen in certain scenarios. Not all games are created equal. Garbage in garbage out, depends on the game house that created it.
His videos are really nice imho. If he got something wrong feel free to point it out.
MikeyMS you try explaining it then
Your commentary is all over the place.
Not very well structured and kind of distracting.
Write out a script and have a game plan for future videos.
another thing, he doesn't have much of an idea how the game works
black hole went too fast and should have be more off-center
because it was so close to the sun, it just resulted in sun + inner planets being slingshotted
and because it was so fast, effect on the outer planets didn't even have time to set in
had it been slower and more off-center, the sun and the planets etc would have started to orbit around it
His video, ergo, is commentary
Roderick Roderick That ruins the fun of finding out what will happen during recording. He won't sound as surprised because he knows what is gona happen.
I agree 100%. Came to the comment section just to see if I was the only one who felt like this. Won't be watching any more of these videos unless he makes changes

Really makes you feel insignificant. Earth would be destroyed that quickly by such a tiny one. And there are black holes out there billions of times larger than the sun. Unfathomable.
