This is a pretty good introductory video for visitors to Manila. I’m sure everyone heads out to the more famous beaches like Palawan and Boracay, but these sites are great for a first day after arrival settling in and last day before flying out.
Makati is the first Corporate city in the ASEAN, developed in the 50s. the ASEAN neighbours just copied Makati later. Bangkok and Jakarta were big slums up until the 80s. Singapore was just a baby. Kuala Lumpur became a big thing when they built the Petronas Towers. But Makati was THE place to be until the rest in the ASEAN caught up. It is now undergoing rehabilitation and making it number one again.
It’s sad to think how they all surpassed us now. It’s up to the younger generation if they will continue to be this way, or help the country in becoming better.
Makati needs a iconic buildings then so that way it can par up with marina bay sands, petronas towers or the thai royal palace.. im hoping makati would have those very soon
There so many more amazing and wonderful islands here in the Philippines and also if you want to thrill like hiking and looking for an amazing falls there so much more.

"Manila" is just one of 16 cities that comprise "Metro Manila" which, in turn, is the old but still popular name of the National Capital Region (NCR). Makati, Taguig, Pasay ... these are all cities on their own that are also part of Metro Manila. I rarely encounter "Greater Manila Area" but you did pointed that out correctly. Thank you! We just want foreigners to learn our correct geography. We do not want foreigners to have misunderstanding with airport taxi drivers for telling them "Manila" when they actually wanted to be in a totally different city in Metro Manila. Explore northern luzon (ilocos Region) when you come back: from Pampanga to bataan to pangasinan to la inion to Ilcoos sur to ilocos norte and baguio city. Oppss sagada too
besides Intramuros try to visit in Manila , the Paco Park n Cemetery built by the Dominican friars in 1807 n now a recreational garden. The inner walls of the circular garden still houses the marble crypt markers that still bears the family names of remains of the Spanish colonial elite. This is also the initial place where the national hero Rizal was first buried n hidden from the Spaniards so that his remains will not be taken by the Spanish authorities. Also inside the Park is the Chapel of St. Pancrasius, now a popular wedding venue because of its beautiful background...

Explore northern luzon (ilocos Region) when you come back: from Pampanga to bataan to pangasinan to la inion to Ilcoos sur to ilocos norte and baguio city. Oppss sagada too
besides Intramuros try to visit in Manila , the Paco Park n Cemetery built by the Dominican friars in 1807 n now a recreational garden. The inner walls of the circular garden still houses the marble crypt markers that still bears the family names of remains of the Spanish colonial elite. This is also the initial place where the national hero Rizal was first buried n hidden from the Spaniards so that his remains will not be taken by the Spanish authorities. Also inside the Park is the Chapel of St. Pancrasius, now a popular wedding venue because of its beautiful background...
