I’ve barely been aware of Minecraft for 5 years lol but it’s fun to see how many changes can happen in that amount of time and how much I’d assumed was actually added earlier than that like ruined portals.
As much hate as 1.19 gets, it is one of my favorites. Sure they cut some stuff, but we got sound based exploration (that's almost wild enough to its own dimension mechanic), wireless redstone, 3 new mobs, 2 new biomes, a new structure, and a bunch of new blocks.
I love how the time it took to talk about the new world heights you weren’t even able to scale the full size of the Sugar Cane farm 😂 it’s an absolute beast! toycat is yes!
I honestly kinda hate them so much because they explicitly require you to abuse spawning mechanics to get a reasonable number of them. I like the technical side of Minecraft well enough but I hate that a building block is locked behind a technical build.
@@glowerworm what do you mean by "abuse" - it's just something you "have to do" - which is bring frogs into the nether where magma cubes are. i don't know what a "reasonable number" is but i don't see the need for more than a dozen of each type - i'd just rather use Sea Lanterns. To the point where I've never seen anyone trying to get a mass amount of Froglights without one. Because if someone were to actually try that they'd be taking a really long time to either drag a frog around to very dangerous nether, or slowly lead a Magma Cube to a frog before killing it. It's a decent commitment people must do, I really would say making a proper farm for it tends to be the ideal solution people use. And I say all of this as a big fan of how Froglights work.

The wild update is still caves and cliffs part 3 because it added the warden and ancient cities, which had a larger impact on the game than frogs and mangrove swamps, and it was supposed to be part of 1.17 caves and cliffs update
It's shocking how recent gold and iron having an ore form is. Before they were ore blocks and that was it. As for best feature, I'd say crossing giant pools of lava in the Nether using a warped fungus and a fishing rod while riding on a strider. As the only real way to traverse lava in the Nether, that's a pretty big deal.

Azalea: the leaves are great for making flowered hedges and the bushes are amazing to use in all sorts of builds 17. dripstone and lush caves: two beautiful biomes with unique features, such as the the lush plants and the glowberries in lush caves, and massive copper ore veins in dripstone caves, plus the axolotls, cute little amphibians that are very unique in real lid=fe for their neotenic features, such as the gills on the adult salamanders 16. frogs and froglights: how is it it took so long for frogs to be officially added to the game, in my opinion, frogs should have been added much earlier than they have, but boy a least we got them now, plus with the addition of froglights, we probably will see more from these mobs in the future 15. copper: a new, unique block to finally make steampunk themed builds a reality, now we need brass and bronze, another type of materials associated with the Victorian/steampunk era 14. new world gen: nothing to say but astonishedly beautiful to look and observe at. 13. renewable lave/lava farms: now we can finally get more obsidian without tearing down the end pillars and generating them again by respawning the ender dragon, only to tear them down again 12. piglins and bartering: these mobs are stupidly useful and overpowered, no wonder why speedrunners are addicted to them like a drug 11. blackstone: this block is so useful, especially with the amount of gray and white blocks we been getting too, it's probably going to be more useful for building as we get more blocks 10. basalt: very useful grey block, I hope we get more basalt variants in the future 9. the crimson and warped forest: the first time we can finally add more vivid colors to our builds these two are great accent blocks to go with any wood type, (like dark oak and crimson woods) 8. bamboo wood set: I was wondering if we could get something like this in 1.14, but I guess better late than never, this block is great with many green and teal colored blocks, I'm even using these blocks in a build I'm currently working on (not finished yet since I also using some of the 1.21 blocks in it) 7. new wolf variants: the simple answer is they are all adorable, nothing need to be said 6. raw ore: finally we can fortune all ores, plus the raw ore blocks look a little too tasty (I'm talking about you, raw gold block) 5. copper waxing: this is useful if you want the copper block to stay a certain way, like having it stay orange instead of oxidizing 4. cherry grove and the cherry wood set: one of the best blocks we gotten in a long time, such a very pretty pastel pink color 3. Archeology: one of the most entertaining features we have gotten in a very long time, the pottery sherds are a great collectible, and even getting some valuable stuff such as tnt, new armor trims and even a disc too. plus some structures are now more useful than ever before, like the ocean ruins. 2. the warden and ancient cities: the ancient cities is one of the best structures to be added in a long time, even bigger than bastions, and the warden is a challenging mob to try and outsmart, but very powerful, so strong that you shouldn't provoke it. 1. Netherite: as a kid, I always wondered what armor or material could be better than diamond, I had many ideas, but netherite wasn't one of them, it is one of the best features from the nether update and also has one of the coolest designs, looking like some medieval armor from the dark ages, its easily one of the best features to have been added in a long time. but anyways this was a great and informitive video otherwise, maybe talk about the past ten years of minecraft and the features added since then, ( as in features added since 2014, since I started playing the game) also big salmon and toycat is yes
