This song was written by Reg Presley (no relation to Elvis) who was the lead singer of the British rock group, The Troggs. This song, along with two others, “Wild Thing” and “With a Girl like You,” all sold over 1 million copies and were each awarded gold discs. “Love is All Around,” reached number 5 on the UK charts in November 1967 and reached number 7 on the US charts in May 1968. The song was covered by Scottish soft rock group Wet Wet Wet and was featured in the British romcoms “Four Weddings and a Funeral,” (1994) and “Love Actually,” (2003). When it was re released in 1994 it became an international hit and spent 16 consecutive weeks at number one on the UK Singles Chart, making Reg Presley a multi millionaire as the song writer of the piece.
Huge back late 80's and early 90's. They were from Scotland. The band name Wet Wet Wet came from the lyrics to a song that included a line about "wet, wet, wet tears".
This is an OK cover, but I still like the 1967 original better. The original artist, The Troggs (aka, The Troglodytes), were a British garage band with a handful of hits, including "Wild Thing", "Love is All Around", and "With a Girl Like You".
The version from the Love Actually film is my fave sung by Bill Nighy playing the Billy Mack character and they changed it to Christmas Is All Around 😊
Cover of a 1967-'68 hit by the great English band The Troggs. This new version was featured in the '90s classic English rom-com "Four Weddings and a Funeral."
These guys are Scottish. Tommy ( the drummer ) lived around the corner from me growing up in Clydebank, just outside Glasgow. We played football with him and Marti ( the singer ) in the park all the time.
They come from Clydebank just outside Glasgow in Scotland , I believe they are called WET WET WET because they were apprentice painters and the wet wet wet is the warning posted after painting walls or railings and such outside. lead singer Marti Pellow.
The song is associated with Christmas because it features in the movie Love Actually. The lead singer Marti Pellow and the band Wet Wet Wet are from Scotland and the clip was taken from the Christmas edition of a British show Top of the Pops.
The presenter was Robbie Williams from take that, Marty Pellow is Wet wet wets lead singer . This song was the title song for the movie 4 weddings and a funeral, hence its popularity..
I know you are not a movie person. Or clarifying you can’t stay awake for a whole movie 😂. But this song was a big part of a great Christmas movie’ Love Actually ‘. Many big stars in it. Highly recommend to you. Take care
back in the day we used to put band names together one I can remember was Girl Overboard.... is ....Wet Wet Wet....and......Not Drowning, Waving..I love this song , I seem to recall the name came from a song.
"At the time it was Duran Duran, Talk Talk - double-barrelled names; we just added on another to confuse people. And we would look outside and see the rain coming down. It did seem quite relevant to Glasgow." -Graeme Clark on how the band chose their name, March 1987[6]
Wet is the family name. There's three men from the family, so the last name is repeated 3 times. They all share the same first name as well - Allo sr. (Father), Allo (son) and Allo Jr. (Grandson). So each of them is named Allo Wet. You might of heard their more famous song, in French 'Allo Wet (ta)'
Written and performed by the Troggs in 1967. This is a great cover that mirrors the original.

Huge in the 80s!!!!!! They are Scottish. ‘Wishing I was lucky’ is my favourite of their songs.

Thanks for that. Now, I don't have to research to find out who sang it first!

You badly need to hear angel eyes by them
No comparison to the original by The Troggs. This version is almost too cute.
