I miss the peacefulness of Okinawa. Thank you for sharing!❤️ I did lots of walking around Okinawa all the time I lived there!

I was stationed at Camp Foster Aug74 to Sep75. I did a lot of walking, when I was broke and could not pay for a "Honcho" taxi. That's what we call taxi's back then. I really miss the Island.

I was stationed there at Kadena for seven years, '85 to '92. Loved it.It looks the same in Okinawa city now! I've been all over the island. My favorite city was Nago. Thanks Matt.

One more request please. On your walking and bike-riding videos, it would be so helpful to viewers like me to zoom in on the major blue with white lettering highway signs that appear on your journeys. I have seen a few in your videos but I never can see them clearly enough. I know Okinawa (and maybe mainland Japan in most cases) doesn't have street names except for well-known ones like Kokusai Odori. But a clear and readable view of the highway signs you pass by would be so helpful in figuring out where you are (at least to me). Thanks

I remember A club on B.C Street Called Purple Haze ...I was there in 84 ...It was awesome..Big spiders and devils den on the beach...And we had eaten dog tacos they were good but they did get shut down....I Loved A and W root beer place for burgers and fries...it was a great time...we used to skate right by the gate by b.c.street......Love your video....wish I could go back
    God Bless

Very nice walk, wish I could have joined you. I like the ambient sounds, too. As usual, I didn't recognize much of anything, but that is what happens when you have been gone for a long time. Still, the reinforced concrete buildings for stores and apartments are still the same--great for typhoons. Here's a historical note: you see the nice covered drainage systems everywhere you go these days. Back in the 70's, many of those drainage/sewer systems (we used to call them benjo ditches) were uncovered and they would literally take your breath away, not to mention presenting formidable hazards to vehicles, especially oversized American trucks and cars I almost got stuck in military vehicles a few times. Thanks

That must have been pretty troublesome. I've heard they smelled horrible.

Matt, is Okinawa City the old "Kosa City" I was stationed at Camp Foster Aug74 - Sep75. I don't think there was a Okinawa City back then. Love all your videos and I really miss Okinawa.

I'm glad I found this video! I'm supposed to be moving to Okinawa City in the fall (depending on the COVID-19 situation) and it's nice to see at little bit of the city.

I was station at Kadena from 72-74. I was hoping to see the downtown area and BC street, my hangout.
