It's not just the first mexican lager vs battle we've ever done, it's the most epic! Dos Equis Lager Especial didn't impress too much in its review, but how will it do when pitted head to head against another Especial Cerveza ... Modelo Especial?
Each beer will be rated on it's Aroma, Taste, Mouthfeel, Finish and Overall Beer Experience. A point will be assigned for each category and the beer to get the most points out of the 10 available will win.

Ever since tasting Dos Equis i never dranked Modelo again. You gotta think about hangovers too, Dos equis dont make your head hurt like Modelo

Agree but if you grew up eating rat and horse meat you might think it tastes better than Ribeye steak. Some people might love a bucket of dried spiders or leg of centopede more power to them. Modelo cost far less for a reason its student beer. If you on a budget and don't mind heavy metals in the water of the bear have at it. I'll stick with premium beers. Its not a tough act to beat though .

Drinking Dos Equis Lager Especial right now and really enjoying. Used to really like Modelo Especial but last batch was a little skunky.

The skunkiness can definitely happen with Modelo, no doubt. Getting a bottle from a closed 12 or 24 pack is ideal if possible. Although we didn’t mind it in this Vs. Battle

Would love if you guys could try Japanese beer such as asahi vs sopporo both very good in my opinion and give a refreshing taste.

Andrew...it's so funny you say this. We just had a filming session last night where we did Sapporo and Asahi reviews as well as a vs. battle. So that'll be coming on the channel in the next few weeks!

Modelo is the on the list of the skunkiest trash beers I have ever tasted how it dethroned bud light was due to marketing not taste.
I cant drink it the metallic and skunk after taste is sewer like.
I do like Dos Equis Beer, Lager Especial in the green bottle. But that is a super premium beer like Heineken.
I put Modelo in the with Old Milwaukee, strohs, pabst, staf, buckhorn steel reserve and other ultra cheap beers. If you like trash its for you.

BTW I brought over a 12 pack of Dos Equis and Stella for a Lions Game a few weeks back. My nephew brought a bunch of modelo. Guess whats still left in the garage fridge :) hint its not Stella or Dos Equis :) Cant get anyone to drink more than one.

I love Pacifico! They don’t export to Canada unfortunately so I can’t get my hands on it, but anytime I’m in the U.S. or Mexico I’ll have it if I can.
