Hi Lindsey The last book you talk about - this one sounds soo good and very interesting especially about the Brooklyn Bridge. Take Care & Happy Reading ❤️🤗🔰📖📕📚❤️
I'm with you on the women looking away...so over it. I just read a book during middle grade March that had an ugly cover. The Town with no Mirrors by Christina Collins. It was so good! I highly recommended it!
Thanks for the recommendations! I hate when they change a cover & you think you haven’t read it.😢 The best book I’ve read recently is NORA GOES OFF SCRIPT. I typically don’t like “fluffy” books, but loved this one!
It amazes me that authors don’t always have a say in the book covers for their books. I’ve bought a couple of books because they have a great cover. Sometimes the story is great and sometimes not so much. 😂 And, I’ve passed up quite a few books because their covers are meh. Fun topic, Lindsey! 🎉
In general, I don’t like books with people on the cover. I don’t mind a drawing of people, but no photographs and I prefer the people to be small. I don’t know why. 😂
I just watched the documentary on Washington Roebling and his wife taking over. And YES, please make different covers on historical fiction! You see the back of a female, and you already know, in a "nutshell", what it's about.
I love this topic! I've completely avoided reading A Little LIfe because the cover is just no. Like, I don't want it in my house level of no. My issue with the back of the woman trend is that the books all mush together in my mind- none of them are memorable- so I never remember if I have a particular book. You're spot on! It needs to stop.
Same with the backs of women on covers. Definitely a turnoff for me. Annoying they can’t be a little more creative. Would love the stats on how many there are. I know a lot of mine have had them. 🙄

I’m not crazy about the cover for My Best Friends Exorcism by Grady Hendrix. Love the book though.
I’m with you on looking at the backs of women on covers. So over the trend.
Ulysses and Mount of Mounti Cristo
