CORRECTION: "KoF R-2" doesn't connect to "KoF '99 Evolution", it connects to "KoF Dream Match 1999". The naming makes it confusing, but Dream Match is actually a redux of KoF '98. Nothing can touch "SvC: Match of the Millennium" as my favorite game because on top of an amazing fighter there's hundreds of hours of minigame content.
What intrigues me about the neo Geo Pocket color is that it probably has a lot of beat-em-ups and fighting games like the regular neo Geo and since those are two of my favorite genres it seems like a handheld that I would like
I wish I could find a Neo Geo Pocket for less than $100. I can't really justify paying the prices I've seen especially considering how expensive the games tend to be.
I truly miss my NEO GEO Pocket Color. I had one years ago, not long after it was released. Honestly, I don’t even recall what games I had. But times got tough for a short time and I sold it. 🤷 I don’t know if I’ll ever replace it, but it was a fun one. Fun vid, Jay. Takes me back.
I love the NGPC. Small library yes but almost all of them are bangers. I miss having the actual system, I just emulate it on my Anbernic SP these days. Love me some Dark Arms and that Sonic Game is far better than you'd expect, considering how the ones on the Game Gear are.
Had one when they were first released. Started a small collection a few years ago, got about 15 consoles and nearly 20 games. Modded a couple with the modern screesns, huge improvement
I have all of these. They are all great. Bio Motor Unitron was the game I brought home with me day one when I bought it brand new, and I still have it CIB (though the box has seen better days...). Still have my link cable and DC link cable as well! One game that ended up being a favorite for me was Ogre Battle Gaiden. I have the SNES game, but always stayed at arms length because I don't like a ton of menuing and micromanagement in games, and it looked like an undertaking. Getting the Japanese-only Gaiden, it gave me an excuse to just ignore most of the menuing and just play the game, and I ended up loving it. I beat it along with the extra challenge maps, and that made me feel excited to go play it on SNES, and I loved it to death. I had a great spring the year I got married in our little condo we used to live in where I could only unpack a few consoles at a time playing through it, sun shining through the window on my days off from work as a newlywed.
It’s my favorite handheld! My favorite game for it would probably be Gals Fighter or Metal Slug 2nd Mission. Awesome games and fantastic video my friend! Glad you’re enjoying the NGPC once again!
I love Dark Arms! Metal slug is great too! Was wondering if Sonic would be here, I think it’s great to see it on something besides Nintendo before it would be available on Nintendo systems. I’ve always favored Samurai Shodown and Bushido Blade, great titles! Nice vid my friend! ❤️🎮
Two things: 1) Biomotor Unitron has CADENCE. That is hella fun to say, of course I like saying it! :D 2) 14.9...doesn't seem real. Thank you for being a part of it, my friend. :)
This was a video I wasn't that interested in...until I watched it. I learned so much, especially that I need to play some NeoGeo Pocket games for my first time ever. That's right, I've never played any. I also realized I need to play some Metal Slug again as I have the Anthology physically on the PS4.. Thanks Jay, this was super informative. I love seeing people enjoy so many different game experiences. Take care! 🟧

You are correct! I recorded audio late at night and flubbed it. 😖
I had no idea that little machine had pressure sensitive buttons with functionality for fighters! Genius 😮
I didn't either until I was researching the video and capturing footage! It's amazing how much innovation went into this machine.

It's a magnificent machine. Loads of fighting games that at first glance seem really simple, but the mechanics of the console make them amazing. :)

Thanks for watching, Doc! :)
Metal Slug! Honestly the only reason i could see myself getting a neo geo pocket.
Wait, crush roller looks really fun. Dang it, now I'm intrigued.
My work here is done. :D

The screen mod is 100% necessary. I had a beautiful screen installed on mine and it makes all the difference in the world.
That handheld is an absolute beast.
It's an absolute technological marvel. It does SO MUCH flawlessly well.

I think I would have to say Dark Arms.
Picked it up today!
14.9k?! DAAAAANG 🎉
Admit it Jay- you just like saying "BIOMOTOR UNITRON" 😂
