So many memories there at the BSA camp next door. This is the first i have seen the inside of the state park. First time i saw a tarantula in the wild was at lake CC.
We had a flock of Green Jays come to a tree over our picnic table. I grabbed my camera....dead battery. Every morning we could hear their call and watched them fly around and settle at the top of the trees near our site, but never able to get a good shot. We loved this park as well. Nice secluded site and very quiet. Lots of wildlife (deer, javelinas, road runners, birds). Fishing was great as well. We were here in late March.
I grew up in Alice about 35 miles from this park. The park has always been one of my favorites for photography, hiking, birding, fishing, boating, skiing, swimming and camping. My favorite activity is cruising the lake and enjoying all the park has to offer. Very happy to see it has been updated and made to look as good as it has always deserved. Did you notice red ant beds there?
I grew up on that lake, back in the 60's and 70's. That lake was full of water moccasins; you really had to be careful. My family owned a cabin across the lake at camp Bell; we had a fishing pier and caught a lot of big catfish and bass. Miss those days...😊
Another awesome video new to channel love the way you guys explain everything and show everything from history to having fun take care you guys keep up the amazing videos.
Thanks for this informative review. We just had a small family reunion here in mid July 2018. Your review helped. Very nice state park. We plan on going back. We live near Choke Canyon State Park in Calliham so we're not too far away. I enjoyed your recent review of your trip to Galveston - in your new bus. I went back & watched the dealership video tour of your bus. Nice! The previous owner did a really good job in outfitting your bus. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. Safe Travels!
Thanks so much Katherine! We’re glad y’all had fun at Lake Corpus Christi. We look forward to going back there during bird migration season. Thanks also for watching our other videos. We appreciate it! We feel like we got really lucky finding our Breeze. We are loving it so far! Safe travels and happy camping!
+Steven Jones We love the state parks too, Steven! You're right, Lake Corpus Christi State Park is only about 40 miles or so from Corpus. We think you'll love this park! Thanks for your comment. We appreciate you watching.
Great work here, Guys! Wife & I are heading down to Magnolia Beach here in a few days and figured to take in Lake Corpus Christi during our week in that area. Nice to get your close up. Gotta see one of those GREEN Jays!
@@rvamericayall I understand y'all are from Houston. We're from TYLER, and JUST started our full-time journey this weekend, Class Bing in Tomball. Magnolia Beach up next, then maybe a visit down there to see those Green Jays!
Hey Macy! You’re probably hearing cicadas. They’re really active right now. It could also be frogs. There are some tree frogs that are active at night and sound like birds.
Love watching ya'lls adventures. We are planning a trip from Corpus Christi to Palo Duro Canyon at the end of July to see the play Texas. How do you plan for gas stations that can a truck with travel trailer can fit in for refuels?
+Julius Olguin We like the truckstops like Love's, Pilot, Flying J, T&A. The larger Buccee's also usually have high enough clearance. But definitely something you want to be aware of. Thanks for your comment. Glad you enjoy the videos. We look forward to hearing about your trip!
They have a map that shows all the refugees, I think I got it at the visitor center in Brownsville. This one of the biggest. tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/bentsen-rio-grande-valley
Hi Mercy! Yes we have. We have volunteered for a few of the parks here and there on small projects. We could definitely see ourselves being park hosts one of these days.
We have owned a Texas State Parks Pass for years. It definitely saves us money. Just depends on how much you visit the parks. Here’s a link to our video about the pass. th-cam.com/video/zG_METT7uqc/w-d-xo.html

Beautiful park , thanks for sharing !
Yes it is. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Very Informative. Thanks
+Norman Gebhardt Thanks Norman!
I am here now. What is the nocturnal whistling noise? A bug it seems...? Seems like it's in the trees. Thought it was a bird, or a speaker alarm...
