I am writing again to tell ya'll how very much I enjoyed this video. I know how beautiful it is! We have been there. Our saddle club used to ride horses there Before the bison were allowed to roam free. But I don't ride there anymore, but rather we just go camping there. We have had rain for a few days , first week of Oct. I am such a fan. May God bless yall always. We live just outside of Lubbock.
Hi Coral! Thank you so much. We bet that riding through the canyon was quite an incredible experience! It’s nice to have such an amazing park not too far from your home. We always look forward to our next visit there.
Thanks for joining us on this journey, y'all! If you'd like to see our original video featuring Caprock Canyons State Park, please check out th-cam.com/video/z4ihYCst8_I/w-d-xo.html. And, as always, you can find more about this trip on our website: rvtexasyall.com/rv-lifestyle/rv-trip-quitaque-texas-bison-fest. Safe travels and happy camping!
How cool must it be to camp with the Bison around! We'll have to get out there one day. Its just under 5 hours from where we live. I love those vintage tractors! I'll check out Melany's webpage, I'm looking for some earrings for my wife for Christmas and the ones I see here are very cute, just her style.
Hi David! Y’all will love Caprock Canyons. It is definitely worth the drive! Thanks for checking out Melany’s jewelry. She makes everything by hand. It’s good quality stuff!
Just returned home from Albuquerque, NM and watched your video! Loved how you showcased Quitaque, TX and the campground. As a matter of fact, Caprock Canyon State Park is on our bucket list to visit within the next year!
Hi Dino! Welcome home! Glad y’all enjoyed the Balloon Fiesta. We love Quitaque and Caprock Canyons State Park. We can’t wait to see pics from your visit there. Y’all will love it!
Hi Sam! You just made our day! We haven’t had a chance to explore the city of Tyler yet. But we LOVED our visit to Tyler State Park! Here’s our video in case you haven’t seen it... th-cam.com/video/78g-AtdNgYo/w-d-xo.html
Another excellent video. Everything sure was nice and green around Caprock Canyons area...bet they really appreciated the rain. Quitaque is a neat little town...saw it when we visited the state park last spring. Thought Turkey was cute too. Will have to look into that Bison festival. Looks like fun. Happy travels. 😀
I watched this video in the past when it was released. I was rewatching to plan a trip for next year. Im sad to say, it looks like Bison Fest has not happened since 2022, and the cafe is temporarily closed. I was looking forward to them both. Thanks for the video.
That’s too bad! While you’re in town, check out The Coffee Mill. We had great lunches there last time we were in town (a few years after this video was filmed). www.coffeemillandmercantile.com/
Me and my wife, Regina, live in Longview, Tx. We’re going to buy our first RV soon and we’re excited to find your channel via Grand Adventure video in Padre Island seashore. Looking forward to seeing more of your informative and relaxing videos
Hi Susan! Thank you!! You will LOVE Caprock Canyons and Bison Fest! Beautiful scenery, amazing wildlife, and great people! We always have tons of fun there.
I used to live over there in Lampasas (or as we called it-Lampas ass)lol. Actually nice place. But, 30 years ago, I moved back to Houston to be what I am months away from retiring from. Heck, may meet yall one day out there soon.....Keith
We have been there on day trip. It would be nice to make a circuit trip to Palo Duro, Cap Rock, and Copper Breaks State Parks. I would like to see some of Melany’s star art. I love the stars and some of our State Parks are a great place to see them.
OBTW, yall have brought some valuable information to a fellow sgt and I on making first RV trips in home state before we both move to bigger and better. Than you so much.
We had freezing weather when we stopped there a few years ago. Have you been to the Bob Will museum ? Our Arkansas FMCA club will be in Mineola, TX for the Tyler Rose Fesival in a couple weeks.
We were saying during this visit, we’d like to see the park in the winter (as long as there was no ice on the roads). We haven’t visited the Bob Wills Museum yet, but it’s on our list! We hear great things about the Tyler Rose Festival! Have fun!!
When we were there we had freezing weather, have you been to the Bob Wills museum ? Our Arkansas FMCA club will be in Mineola TX for the Tyler Rose Fesival.
I would recommend you buy the RainX washer fluid. Once you use it you will never use anything else. Its orange in color and your visibility will improve a lot.
I'm looking for a suggestion. I'm planning a trip for next May. I know we are going to start at Palo Duro Canyon State Park, I'm trying to decide between Caprock Canyons vs Copper Breaks for the second half of our trip. I'm leaning towards Caprock Canyons and doing a day trip or two to Copper Breaks.
That's a tough call. We really enjoy both Caprock Canyons and Copper Breaks. But I think if we had to decide between the 2, we'd go with Caprock Canyons. We love watching the bison and the prairie dogs. Both parks are beautiful and have good hiking so you can't go wrong either way. Enjoy your trip!
@@rvamericayall Thanks for the reply! We will have 21 nights out total, so I'll have plenty of time to do day trips to the other park. I have a popup, and carry too much stuff.. so I don't want to pack up and move camp more than once.
I am a winter Texan and have just found your videos. Love them! But when you are talking I wish you didn't have music in the background. Hard for older people to hear. Keep up the videos!
Thanks Ray! The only real issue we have had is with the refrigerator. It wasn’t cooling properly or making ice. But we fixed that ourselves the other day.
@@rvamericayall Thanks we have a gas class A and may get a diesel in the near future, not real familiar with the engine on your coach looks like it runs great. thanks
We have a 275hp Cummins which is small by diesel standards but works great for this coach. Our 35’ Palazzo had a 300hp Cummins. We have been very happy with the Cummins engines. What we like most about the diesel pushers vs the Class A gas that we had is that the cockpit is quieter and cooler since the engine is in the rear. The ride is also smoother.
Lived for several years in Lampasas. And yes, it is LamPAsas. Even heard people pronounce it LampasASS. South of there is Burnett (not Bur-nett. Its Burnit durnit cant you learn it). LOL. Lived in both back in the 80's. Beautiful hill country. Had to move back to Houston (Crosby) for a better paying career.
You’re very welcome. We prefer the diesel over our gas because it has air suspension that give us a smoother ride, and since the engine is in the rear, the cockpit is quieter and cooler. The maintenance is more expensive on a diesel, but the engines are typically built to handle a lot more miles in their lifetime.
I’m looking at Caprock and it says they have WIFI. Were y’all able to get a signal without that booster? I’d love to be able to go up there while teaching online!
Do y’all like Caprock Caynons campsite and views better than Palo Duro caynons campsites and views better ,I haven’t been to either one ,but will be going soon
We like them both, Randy. It’s 2 different experiences. At Caprock, the RV camping loop is up on the canyon rim. At Palo Duro, all camping is on the canyon floor. Definitely do both!
