    I love it how this encourages couple things. 1 - add some volume, dont be afraid, dont try to get the best sound at 35db. 2 - fuzz is nice. cranked amp and fuzz is nicer. Add a boost as it gets even more nicer-er. 3 - embrace the chaos, fuzz is not about pristine noise gated dream theater legato. It's a wrecking ball in your face, learn to love it

    My way to use a fuzz(face style).
    1 turn it on
    2 diel back your guitar volume
    3 welcome to the best clean of your life
    4 push the volume to solo
    5 have fun.
    6 never turn it off again.

    The tips on the knob levels doing a specific job is gold I think. Something I know but don't apply b/c of impulsiveness to solve volume issues without being methodical about it. One of the few 'how to fuzz' vids I've seen that resonate in a way that may actually change my approach. Well done, Buddy.

    Awesome. I’m really enjoying these videos. I will say that I personally dig the sound of a fuzz in front of a clean amp, but turned down. A good fuzz can function essentially as an overdrive when turned down and I love that sound to add a little hair. Looking forward to your compressor video because I’ve never liked them and want to hear how you use them!

    Hey Buddy, I use a Carcosa Fuzz and if it's necessary an super overdrive and an Trinity distortion in front and overdrive ( and a suboctaver) behind the fuzz. This is a very versatile set and I have all sounds I need. I just select the pedals I need for a song. The settings for the overdrive and distortion are not maxed, it's only to get a different character of the guitar sound. Sometimes I use all pedals at once... I just love fuzz, overdrive and distortion pedals...

    I set my Amp on the edge of breakup with my JHS Cheeseball! It's a killer sound with my super reverb tone master especially because the cheeseball is so versatile! I have been playing for 25 years and just got back into playing electric guitars since I was a teenager. I have a nice Lil pedal board built with a Les Paul Goldtop and a Fender Strat Ultra! what about parallel compression ? or a graphic eq ? ( before fuzz )
    parallel compression can sneak the compressed signal under the fuzz, and clip just the parallel signal.
    and a graphic eq makes frequency spikes that get clipped, and more of your tone passes underneath the fuzz.

  • @the_nondrive_side
    @the_nondrive_side ปีที่แล้ว

    I use a MICROCUBE GX and my futz face GE... I have a parallel fuzz oscillation set my fuzz pot and I can go back to series safely.. Or get absolutely crazy with parallel and the tone pot... Also fuzz face into compressor.
    7:00 of course. Parallel wire loading humbuckers and the middle positions on the fender

    Instead of setting your amp at slight breakup, can you set the sabbadius mr. white special up to mimic a the edge of breakup sound and then use the fuzz. If so could you also use the vertex effects sss and set the supreme eq to edge of breakup and use that the same way.

    • @BuddyBlues
      @BuddyBlues  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes almost everything applies to humbuckers but with the gain knob slightlllyyy lower. Humbuckers pack a punch. You also wouldn’t find those insanely glassy clean volume roll offs with humbuckers but you’ll get close! Thank you for watching

      @@anejo333 The Vibe WILL sound almost phaser-like placed after the fuzz if its only seeing a cleanish amp on the other end. You've either got to get the amp working or throw an overdrive after the vibe to smooth it out (similar to what Buddy shows here with the OD post-fuzz). Otherwise, you can put the vibe first before the fuzz (assuming its true bypass). It won't interact with the guitar as well when they are both on but the fuzz will help smooth it out.
