I don't like to say this because I respect Yamaha massively but, the sound engineering on the Ketron sound is so much nicer. Fuller sounding, wider band and more realistic to my ears. I think this company is shaking things up and every synth and keyboard manufacturer should listen very carefully

Ketron suele dar problemas en directo. Su sonido es más duro, muy metalico para el oido, por eso se asemeja más a la musica en directo. El yamaha es más fino, suena más a musica de estudio
About drums, Yamaha is more aggressive and the drummer sounds a bit more like a beginner or someone who isn't interested in excellence. Ketron is more like a real drummer.
Depends on what you are listening to in the music. The ketron has some kind of distracting and unwanted sound in it. Whereas the Yamaha filters that distracting sound out, leaving everything kind of muffled and compressed, but CLEAN. Some call it a "plastic toy" sound or something in the ketron, BUT if you ignore that unwanted sound, you get a VERY realistic sound. Myself, I'm willing to go along with and ignore that unwanted sound to be able to hear raw realistic live instruments. I choose ketron.

También llevo 8 años con Ketron y tengo el oido acostumbrado al sonido de Ketron y solo hace 1 semana que tengo el Genos, así es que estoy muy acostumbrado al sonido Ketron, pero desde luego ambos son grandes teclados.
My description for my experiences: Both are very well sounding keyboards. Ketron has very rough but higly realistic sounds. Your sound will be like a combo. The styles let you hear and feel the drummer, base, guitar player and you do the rest. As arranger (keyboard) you have a lot of possibilities to interact. Genos sounds more smooth / softened. If you have to do sound for a big room, ketron sounds more realistic, yamaha gots lost in transparency. If you play in small area, genos can impress more with more balanced sound. For the musician itself it depends on wheter you want to sound as entertainer (genos) or a band (ketron). The features for controlling sounds, saving settings a.s.o for myself genos is more technical matured. The options in using the registration bank and having 10 regs per bank are very useful for live entertainment. P.e. you can save special settings for a sound (reverb, guitar,/effect panels) in a reg and you don't need to create a new sound saving in a user-sound for this purpose. Genos: If you reduce the soften effects like reverb (there is often much reverb on sounds and styles) you got it more to ketron.. Ketron: If you try to soften the sounds and styles, you got more to sound like genos. But still both have their own feeling.
Solo una recomendación, cuando se emula un instrumento de aire no hay que olvidarse de dar un tiempo cada tanto ,para que el músico emulado respire naturalmente. (Desligar ciertas frases musicales) Pero todo lo demás está perfecto

As a former owner of Genos and having tried ketron SD9 I can assure you that there is an abyss. Yamaha has excellent converters and if you connect it to a quality system with sub and satellites the sound and dynamics it has are incredible. Ketron not only doesn't have even half the dynamics, but on top of that the effects and samples are very noisy, you can always hear a hiss on almost every sample.
The sounds and rhythm in ketron are also more reserved as acumpanya frequencies. I mean, the sense of live performance is stronger. I don't know exactly how to explain this, but I'm definitely independent of the sounds I call ketron.

Estoy de acuerdo con todos los comentarios, actualmente tengo un modulo sd40 de ketron que es lo mismo que el sd9 y decir que en sonidos han dado un paso muy grande para atrás, las orquestas de violines tienen mucho ataque en medios, los comparo con el vintage SD1 que tengo 3 unidades y es lo mejor que hizo esta marca, las orquestas de violines son espectaculares, suena gordo en todos los aspectos que es lo que se busca para el directo. También tengo el Ketron SD4 que es lo mismo que el SD1, etes lo tengo programado para sonidos por midi con el Tyros 1 y bueno.... el tyros1 está muy bien para algunas actuaciones en hoteles y algo más. En definitiva, hay que tener más de un teclado para darte cuenta y comparar como suenan cada uno, pues por separado todos suenan bien y es verdad que cada teclado tienen sus cosas buenas y malas.
I know Yamaha are very good and used to being in front but this time I must be honest and say that Ketron has won this dual, especially on the percussion side. I don´t know why this was based on Latin Styles because on my point of view the comparison should be should be done on other styles. This is where I find the SD9 far ahead. However, this all depends on what intentions you have either by performing or producing music.

Mira,..yo he tenido algunos teclados básicos como pa50y pa80 y tú sabes, son algo limitados Yo busco esto..... quiero un teclado al que pueda meterle cualquier cancion, por ejemplo "ojos españoles" y el teclado al momento detecte, instrumentos,ritmo y velocidad y yo pueda tocarla con acordes propios!!! Hola, muchas gracias. Me imagino que te refieres a midi files. El caso es que yo utilizo los ritmos que trae el teclado y toco en tiempo real, pero en este nivel de teclados yo creo que ambos te funcionarían bien porque son teclados de gama alta y los instrumentos que traen son de alta calidad.

No lo se, pero en EE.UU. lo comercializa Ajamsonic. Es una gran marca que la han desarrollado músicos italianos y lleva mas de 20 años en el mercado. Concretamente en España es muy popular para solistas que hacen música en vivo y una de sus mejores secciones son los ritmos latinos.
with the same styles (and actually they are almost mirrored in terms of rhythm section and arrangement), GENOS is in clear superiority in terms of sound purity and shows an almost perfect balance of instruments, acoustically never excessive and always pleasant to listen to. The SD9 has top-notch patterns, but compensates for the lower quality with a large use of DSPs which in the long run weigh down the ensemble result especially when playing the richest arrangement sections, with overlapping voices and a more confused overall sound. kind of the same problem that korg has with its sharp blade sounds, pleasant for the first 5 seconds, unbearable after a minute.

Sehr gut gespielt und guter Vergleich - Danke! Die Soloinstrumente gehen klar an Yamaha. Dynamik und Akzente der jeweiligen Instrumente sind herausragend und für Tasten immer weiter perfektioniert. Dabei wurden die möglichen Effekte noch gar nicht genutzt. Bei manchen Stücken ist die Begleitung von Ketron etwas klarer, was aber eine Frage der Mischung Lautstärke/Stereobild ist.

¡De nada Villacoelles!, lo he hecho para ayudar a la gente que tenga dudas sobre cuál comprarse, ya que en su momento yo busqué vídeos comparativos y no encontré ninguno. Ketron es un teclado para música en vivo, muy realista, amplifica mejor que el Genos para el directo con las PA, llena más el sonido y tiene mas cuerpo que el Genos. El Genos tiene un sonido más procesado y fino, sus ritmos son mas orquestales y es muy bueno para el estudio. Son muy buenos los dos pero para diferentes tipos de usuarios. Efectivamente las intro y finales del Genos son impresionantes pero luego el estilo se queda algo más descafeinado que en el Ketron. El acabado del Ketron es más profesional, metálico, robusto, mas pequeño aunque algo más pesado, con teclas de Fatar semicontrapesadas. El Genos está acabado en plástico, mayor tamaño aunque menos peso y las teclas son más livianas. El Genos tiene muchas librerías de sonidos y estilos para descargar en la página de Yamaha y en ese sentido Ketron está mucho mas limitado porque no hay tanto material disponible como en Yamaha. En ambos casos cubren casi todo tipo de estilos, pero el Genos tiene unos bancos de sonidos de bandas sonoras y new age impresionantes que Ketron no tiene. Al final todo depende de lo que busque cada usuario. Espero haber contribuido algo con estas aclaraciones. ¡Un abrazo!

Es mas nuevo el SD9, pertenece a la última generación de teclados de Ketron. Los sonidos en el SD9 están mas procesados que en el Audya, diría que en el Audya aun suenan un poco más realistas que en el SD9.
very interesting and good comparison! well both are sounding best but very different in sytle , the Genos is more like a perfect studio band and the SD9 is a real live band... buy them both and you are happy and best prepared for a gig :)
Ketron hat die besten Drums and Rhythm Sounds, aber nicht mehr! Yamaha und Korg sind einfach die Sound Spitzenklasse! Beim letzten Chaif/Salsa brilliert das Genos voll auf! EQ auf mehr Mitten und es ist voller und perfekt! Unfair sind die unterschiedlichen Volumen! Die Yamaha Begleitung und auch die Melodien sind zu leise! Beides sind tolle Keyboards!
Estoy de acuerdo contigo, pienso que al Yamaha Sele puede sacar un mejor sonido con una mejor ecualización y queda mas choncho y mucho mejor su sonido saludos.
Super Vergleich ! Eindeutiger Sieger: Cesar Formenti ! Ansonsten: Gleichstand ! Leichter Vorteil Genos. Einige Sätze gingen an Genos, aber auch einige an SD9. Ich selber habe ein SD90-Modul. Ein Genos-Modul gibt es leider nicht, aber nach diesem Vergleich brauche ich auch keins mehr. Bitte noch mehr davon !
Excelente los dos teclados, me inclino al Genos son más reales los sonidos. En precio hay mucha diferencia? Acá en Argentina el Genos es inalcanzable y ketron nose consigue. Muy buen vídeo!!!
No estás escuchando bien amigo... Es claramente superior ketron. Por mucho es el sonido mas profesional.!! Yamaha sigue haciendo teclados cada vez mas caros, pero con el mismo sonido de siempre. Sigue comparando y verás..

Well I have owned more Yamaha keyboards over the years,and spent more money on them than I would ever dare tell my wife. Everyone of them sounding good and very reliable. Currently own a Genos, styles are amazing but the voices always need tweeking in some way. Also some of the button graphics are wearing away already. I quite liked the ketron and will definitely have a look at it. Based on this demo I didn't think there's much between them.
Both keyboards have no equalization, are as they come from factory. But Yamaha always sounds with more treble and thinner than Ketron sound which is thicker and more round.
I had always been impressed with Ketron, and it took a very long time for Yamaha to finally add touch screen technology, even to their Clavinova digital pianos. The Yamaha is much better than the Tyros, and has many professional features as I had considered one for my self on stage when I play with bands. But price is much higher than Ketron.

In this video he does not use the drum volume at ketron as should be, little bit louder.. thats why you can not compare it.. the ketron has good drums and i dont know why, but he hide them in this video..
Personally I like the soft and sweet accompaniment and the loud percussion, it spoils the song, unless it is for dancing or to make more noise. But of course Ketron has very good percussion..@@NilsHolgenson
Los Yamaha tienen styles audios de flamenco gama alta Yamaha Genos buffff pero el ketron sd9 nos a dejado de piedra guitarra realista mejor que un Korg y un Yamaha guitarra .... Tengo un Korg pax2 pro y un Yamaha psr s970 nunca e tenido un ketron aver eso de la guitarra cambiaré el Korg o el Yamaha por un ketron gracias amigo te dejo like tocas muy bien sigue así
Looking at the Korg PA5X, imo the Korg sounds better. More realistic but not taking anything away from the Ketron which sounds good. The Ketron does sound better to me, especially style wise, than the Genos though. For what its worth, the Korg PA5X is one of the best sounding and most complete keyboards on the market now.

Apprezzo di più la corposità di Ketron (che uso) che con i suoi bassi nello stile rendono complessivamente tutto lo style più caldo e piu adatto al ballo. Yamaha forse più adatta in sala registrazione e o musica da ascolto. da notare, inoltre, che le tastiere Ketron sono quasi o tutte nate come arrangers e quindi piu orientate all'accompagnamento e all'intrattenimento.

KENTRON muy clara la definición, quizás con sutiles recursos menos que GENOS, pero KENTRON lo noto superior.

Me impresionó el tono natural de los sonidos del ketron, nunca había escuchado esa marca y ahora es mi favorita,solo que aquí en México según veo, nadie lo comercializa.

No lo se, pero en EE.UU. lo comercializa Ajamsonic. Es una gran marca que la han desarrollado músicos italianos y lleva mas de 20 años en el mercado. Concretamente en España es muy popular para solistas que hacen música en vivo y una de sus mejores secciones son los ritmos latinos.
Gracias amigo, ..empezaré por el Yamaha psr-sx900 y en un futuro esperemos llegué a México el ketron.

with the same styles (and actually they are almost mirrored in terms of rhythm section and arrangement), GENOS is in clear superiority in terms of sound purity and shows an almost perfect balance of instruments, acoustically never excessive and always pleasant to listen to.
The SD9 has top-notch patterns, but compensates for the lower quality with a large use of DSPs which in the long run weigh down the ensemble result especially when playing the richest arrangement sections, with overlapping voices and a more confused overall sound.
kind of the same problem that korg has with its sharp blade sounds, pleasant for the first 5 seconds, unbearable after a minute.
Sorry, but Genos has a wider sound spectrum and more subtle color.
ketron is better as arranger however yamaha has better sounds as individual voices and ketron better styles

Die Soloinstrumente gehen klar an Yamaha. Dynamik und Akzente der jeweiligen Instrumente sind herausragend und für Tasten immer weiter perfektioniert. Dabei wurden die möglichen Effekte noch gar nicht genutzt.
Bei manchen Stücken ist die Begleitung von Ketron etwas klarer, was aber eine Frage der Mischung Lautstärke/Stereobild ist.
Hi da kann ich dir nur Recht geben, ich spiele seit 5 Jahren auf Yamaha und bin sehr zufrieden mit dem key. Ist aber auch Geschmackssache. Dir ein schönen Sonntag. Liebe Grüße Heinz

Muchísimas gracias por compartirlo. mí humilde opinión aunque Yo personalmente tengo Yamaha no puedo dejar de reconocer que el ketron es un excelente teclado.. sus ritmos son muy auténticos y los sonidos muy semejantes a los originales.. solo que los intro y finales del Yamaha para mí son más profesionales tienen mejor definición sobre todo en los arreglos de orquestas..un gran abrazo musical desde la distancia..🤗🤗🤗🤗
¡De nada Villacoelles!, lo he hecho para ayudar a la gente que tenga dudas sobre cuál comprarse, ya que en su momento yo busqué vídeos comparativos y no encontré ninguno.
Ketron es un teclado para música en vivo, muy realista, amplifica mejor que el Genos para el directo con las PA, llena más el sonido y tiene mas cuerpo que el Genos. El Genos tiene un sonido más procesado y fino, sus ritmos son mas orquestales y es muy bueno para el estudio. Son muy buenos los dos pero para diferentes tipos de usuarios. Efectivamente las intro y finales del Genos son impresionantes pero luego el estilo se queda algo más descafeinado que en el Ketron. El acabado del Ketron es más profesional, metálico, robusto, mas pequeño aunque algo más pesado, con teclas de Fatar semicontrapesadas. El Genos está acabado en plástico, mayor tamaño aunque menos peso y las teclas son más livianas. El Genos tiene muchas librerías de sonidos y estilos para descargar en la página de Yamaha y en ese sentido Ketron está mucho mas limitado porque no hay tanto material disponible como en Yamaha. En ambos casos cubren casi todo tipo de estilos, pero el Genos tiene unos bancos de sonidos de bandas sonoras y new age impresionantes que Ketron no tiene. Al final todo depende de lo que busque cada usuario. Espero haber contribuido algo con estas aclaraciones. ¡Un abrazo!

They both sound great. I agree the Ketron has a slightly rawer quality, but that's a question of preference, I think.

Es mas nuevo el SD9, pertenece a la última generación de teclados de Ketron. Los sonidos en el SD9 están mas procesados que en el Audya, diría que en el Audya aun suenan un poco más realistas que en el SD9.

Soy admirador de Yamaha pero tengo que reconocer la superioridad de Kentron en cuanto a ritmos latinos habría que verlo también en pop rock o hip hop
very interesting and good comparison! well both are sounding best but very different in sytle , the Genos is more like a perfect studio band and the SD9 is a real live band... buy them both and you are happy and best prepared for a gig :)

Ketron hat die besten Drums and Rhythm Sounds, aber nicht mehr! Yamaha und Korg sind einfach die Sound Spitzenklasse! Beim letzten Chaif/Salsa brilliert das Genos voll auf! EQ auf mehr Mitten und es ist voller und perfekt! Unfair sind die unterschiedlichen Volumen! Die Yamaha Begleitung und auch die Melodien sind zu leise! Beides sind tolle Keyboards!
Estoy de acuerdo contigo, pienso que al Yamaha Sele puede sacar un mejor sonido con una mejor ecualización y queda mas choncho y mucho mejor su sonido saludos.
Super Vergleich ! Eindeutiger Sieger: Cesar Formenti ! Ansonsten: Gleichstand ! Leichter Vorteil Genos. Einige Sätze gingen an Genos, aber auch einige an SD9. Ich selber habe ein SD90-Modul. Ein Genos-Modul gibt es leider nicht, aber nach diesem Vergleich brauche ich auch keins mehr. Bitte noch mehr davon !

Yamaha tiende a la expresión , yéndose un poco a los timbres agudos y con geniales recursos.
Ketron con mayor realismo, más como en vivo. Un lujo.
Excelente los dos teclados, me inclino al Genos son más reales los sonidos. En precio hay mucha diferencia? Acá en Argentina el Genos es inalcanzable y ketron nose consigue. Muy buen vídeo!!!
No estás escuchando bien amigo... Es claramente superior ketron. Por mucho es el sonido mas profesional.!! Yamaha sigue haciendo teclados cada vez mas caros, pero con el mismo sonido de siempre. Sigue comparando y verás..

Well I have owned more Yamaha keyboards over the years,and spent more money on them than I would ever dare tell my wife. Everyone of them sounding good and very reliable. Currently own a Genos, styles are amazing but the voices always need tweeking in some way.
Also some of the button graphics are wearing away already. I quite liked the ketron and will definitely have a look at it. Based on this demo I didn't think there's much between them.
the Genos sounds tinny sounding or to much treble, compared with the ketron
Both keyboards have no equalization, are as they come from factory. But Yamaha always sounds with more treble and thinner than Ketron sound which is thicker and more round.
I had always been impressed with Ketron, and it took a very long time for Yamaha to finally add touch screen technology, even to their Clavinova digital pianos. The Yamaha is much better than the Tyros, and has many professional features as I had considered one for my self on stage when I play with bands. But price is much higher than Ketron.

In this video he does not use the drum volume at ketron as should be, little bit louder.. thats why you can not compare it.. the ketron has good drums and i dont know why, but he hide them in this video..
Personally I like the soft and sweet accompaniment and the loud percussion, it spoils the song, unless it is for dancing or to make more noise. But of course Ketron has very good percussion..@@NilsHolgenson
The Genos sounds more balanced and the solo instruments sound more realistic. Overall a big thumbs up for the Genos.👍
Los Yamaha tienen styles audios de flamenco gama alta Yamaha Genos buffff pero el ketron sd9 nos a dejado de piedra guitarra realista mejor que un Korg y un Yamaha guitarra .... Tengo un Korg pax2 pro y un Yamaha psr s970 nunca e tenido un ketron aver eso de la guitarra cambiaré el Korg o el Yamaha por un ketron gracias amigo te dejo like tocas muy bien sigue así

How does Ketron Compares to Korg
Looking at the Korg PA5X, imo the Korg sounds better. More realistic but not taking anything away from the Ketron which sounds good. The Ketron does sound better to me, especially style wise, than the Genos though. For what its worth, the Korg PA5X is one of the best sounding and most complete keyboards on the market now.

Hola, el SD9 tiene un grabador interno de audio y después lo puedes copiar en un pendrive USB o directamente a un PC con conexión por cable.
Desde todos Los ángulos El Yamaha Genos es bastante más real 👍

Apprezzo di più la corposità di Ketron (che uso) che con i suoi bassi nello stile rendono complessivamente tutto lo style più caldo e piu adatto al ballo. Yamaha forse più adatta in sala registrazione e o musica da ascolto. da notare, inoltre, che le tastiere Ketron sono quasi o tutte nate come arrangers e quindi piu orientate all'accompagnamento e all'intrattenimento.
