LEGO has a HUGE Deadpool Problem...

- So with the release of Deadpool & Wolverine in theatres just last week. Everyone is talking about the two characters, Deadpool in particular, and how we haven't gotten a LEGO minifigure of him in over 6 years, and no regular Deadpool in 12. Has LEGO forgotten Deadpool exists, surely not. Maybe the real answer, is that LEGO just really doesn't want to make the figure. Why exactly? Well, I cover all the possibilities in this video!
If you enjoyed this video, I have a second part out now, where I come up with some sets we could see from the new movie! th-cam.com/video/H-MIJvYl0wU/w-d-xo.html
Deadpool has to be in a new avengers movie because we have to know why Thor is crying
I think that was just the thor 2 scene but loki was replaced by dearpool
@@paolobastieindeed
@@paolobastieI thought that too, but thors eyes were different colors, so it had to be after Thor’s lost his eyes.
Plot twist : He was crying because Deadpool hasn't had a new Lego minifigure in years.
@@paolobastieNah, Thor was wearing different clothes than in Thor 2, plus Paradox says it happens in the future.
you're telling me this 12 year old deadpool figure I have in a box somewhere has insane resale value right now?
yep
@@vator53 dawg it’s a 100 dollars for a piece of plastic you picked up years ago and then left in a box. It is a lot more than the whole set cost back then.
@@vator53 Looks like I picked a good time to get it.......I bought the original figure a while back, and later looked online to see if there were any other versions. There are some *awesome* ones with custom prints that are selling for under ten bucks on some sites!
@@vator53 you must be very fun at parties
@@vator53considering a minifigure cost 4 euro (from the packs) a value increase by 2500% is insane.
It’s not that long ago they made a Lego Punisher figure, and one could argue that he is way more violent and R-rated
Sex probably matters more to LEGO than gore, Punisher doesn’t get sexual but Deadpool does. Would also explain why Stranger Things could get sets despite the gore.
@@legometaworld2728wolverine is rated R and has sets. Batman v Superman had an R cut and got sets. Jaws has nudity and has a set. Friends is super sexual and has a set. Same w big bang theory
@@ericg1100 And with Seinfeld aswell.
@@legometaworld2728Stranger Things isn’t even that gory what 😂
@@legometaworld2728But don’t they have sexual stuff in general? I didn’t watch a lot of it but I remember there was some references and off screen stuff near the start of season 1
To be fair, Deadpool in most main series comics is around PG-13 material which Lego was probably fine with in that original set. Now he's more known for the R rated movies
I think they'll add him if he's in the next season of xmen 97 but its an educated wish
I got that reference 😉🫶🏽
The writers of x-men 97 said the one character that was off limits to them was deadpool
@@nathanwoolham4771 it would be really cool if they were able to make an x-force spin-off show based off the original run in the 90’s. It would be nice to see Deadpool as a villain again.
“Did you just say educated wish?”
They released the Punisher, Carnage, and Joker ... those guys make Deadpool look like a choirboy...
I stopped taking Lego seriously when they wouldn't do Street Fighter set but put out a Fast and Furious branded stuff around the same time.
They cancel temple of doom indiana jones set because of portraying real deity (Kali), which doesnt look like Kali at all, at the same time they release sets that have ark of the covenant, anubis statues and nazi plane
joker is literally PG-13 for kids and carnage has pg-13 movie . Same with punisher
Punisher's movies are R-rated and his comics include the nastiest stuff. Wolverine has R-rated movie and they don't ignore him. Deadpool appeared in the ultimate spiderman cartoon, they don't have to do Reynolds's version. Don't tell me that lego cares about kids, it's all just business tactics for them.
@@danielcastaneda4975all of punishers movies are R rated and his arch nemesis is a guy he cut the face off of using a window, he feeds criminals to piranhas, blows them up with rocket launchers, once punched a hole through somebodys head using his bare fist and used an overweight man to suffocate the russian to death and then cut the russians head off and showed it to the person who hired him to scare her
Not to mention he once killed every single marvel character (although deadpool did that too)
Easiest solution for the lack of X-Men Characters: mechs, random vehicles and such.
Even though Deadpool is infamous for being R-rated, including him in spin-offs, 18+ lineups, or similar products is the best bet for more obscure characters like our beloved Marvel Jesus
4:55 I'd like to add to this point here. Sticking with Marvel Lego has made sets based on Ghost Rider who is the literal devil's bounty hunter and Wolverine who's catchphrase, "I'm the best there is at what I do. And what I do isn't very nice.", is literally referring to Logan being a killer and him being used as weapon. Yet somehow these 2 characters are somehow more kid friendly than Deadpool?
Also Deadpool was in Ultimate Spider-Man
If I were honest for once, then perhaps they are much more easier to tone down in other forms of media without getting into trouble with the Soccermoms.
im really hoping they throw deadpool into more mcu movies now just so lego has no excuse to look the other way.
For those who don't know, Fox owned the character rights to the X-Men characters but Disney owned the merchandise rights. Marvel essentially put an embargo on X-Men merchandise to spite Fox as well as prevent the creation of new X-Men (since they own the comics). That's why you see X-Men sets from before the ban took effect and why Deadpool has only been available as a Comicon exclusively.
They have entire line of 18+ sets yet they don’t use it to introduce gory themes and characters
They sorta flirted with the idea when putting Blade, Daredevil, and the Punisher in the Daily Bugle. But, they were pushed to be in there, not sure if the same will apply to DP..
@@strangelittlesnake ya well they still made those figures so there’s no reason why they can’t make a 18+ based on Deadpool
I think the 18+ line is something that appeals or complex builds. Not something that intended for adults.
@@anthonycuevasproductionprobably because they are niche characters that kids would probably not be interested or don’t know.
@pepiscannot I discovered deadpool in kindergarten punisher in pre school, and blade in second grade, so that’s not the problem
Deadpool just made a post credit cameo with an updated look in Lego's latest Marvel short...
Yeah 😂 all these TH-cam videos about Deadpool never returning in Lego are just rubbish now 😂
Disney's California Adventure now has Deadpool and Wolverine ( albeit toned down ) at Avengers Campus. They even replaced Deadpool's guns in the holsters for chimichangas. So If they could make a version of Deadpool that is family friendly. I guess Lego could as well ? Or just go with the 18+ line.
If Lego is going to do the first route, then I felt like you can put him in a medium-scale Scenario like a Taco Truck (or even more crazier, a Taco Monster Truck).
EXCELLENT WORK. LEGO MAN CAM LEGO DEADPOOL PROBLEMATIC
lol i dont get how guns arent family friendly, theyre just tools. starwars is all about guns and deadly lasers but somehow thats fine😂
@@down6ibuprofensbecause they are blasters not “real” guns
I actually recently purchased the Lego Deadpool and Wolverine from that set together for just under $100. Deadpool is missing a gun and a sword. Everything else is pretty much perfect.
Yeah I was able to get a Deadpool for $20 because of a small crack on his torso which I am so happy about
Id love an 18+ Lego Deadpool themed set based off the battle in the void between team Deadpool and Cassandra's mutants
I want th Honda Oddysey
That’d be sick, i’d also like a set based on the final battle in the movie that I can’t spoil.
I would love one as well, they could even have meta jokes on the box like
"Ryan Renolds not included"
Guys, don't forget that Lego owns Bricklink and gets a small percentage from any order. A 100$+ Minifigure being sold there isn't the worst of things for them
That is a ridiculous take. Whatever they earn on bricklink (up to 3%) is nothing compared to what they earn on sets.
@@doufmech4323true.
If Deadpool ends up being in the new Avengers movies (which let’s face it, he will be), I’m fully expecting a pre-Marvel logo clip of Deadpool saying something like “now, Kevin has told me that if I’m going to be in this movie I need to be family friendly. This means I can’t say *beeps out every possible swear word you can think of*. Okay? Okay”
The fact that Lego has now made minifigs of punisher and blade but still have not made a new Deadpool minifig after a decade is crazy serious is it so hard to just make another set with Deadpool that’s not based on the movies like it could just be a comic book based set or even a mech people would just be happy to get another Deadpool fig that’s not a comic con exclusive
I helped my friend rebuild all his lego sets to sell about a year ago and as a thanks he sold me the 2012 set complete at a significant discount. All the figs are in great condition. So glad I got deadpool.
I bought that set when it was new in 2012 and I still have it with all the Minifigures.
Legit wasn't expecting to own a LEGO set that would become so valuable, especially the Deadpool Minifigure.
same here! Ive unknowingly had him on display for years, i guess its time to dig out his matching wolverine and reunite them
And... He showed up in Lego Avengers mission demolition...
I do want to note that Deadpool wasn’t anywhere near as much of an R-rated character before his solo film came out, which is probably why Lego was fine with including him in the chopper showdown in the first place.
As I have said many times before, Lego are just babies with double standards when it comes to R-rated material. Their 18+ sets are just an unnecessary marketing gimic, and they should make 18+ sets based on adult licenses. Just remove the references to blatant adult themes if you really think it’ll damage the brand. They’ll put Blade and Punisher in an expensive set, and then not put them in the store displays for the set because they’re “too adult.” They’ll make a set based on Stranger Things that includes a piece that is intended to be blood, they’ll release comicon figures based on adult stuff, and they’ll release a figure based on an R-rated show in the Marvel minifigure series (to be fair, though, I don’t think they knew Echo was gonna be rated R), but won’t make a lot of fans happy by just making the sets based on adult properties be the 18+ sets and lower the sets that don’t need that rating to 16+, even though it is completely possible to make sets based off those properties that do not include adult content. Seriously, Lego are babies with double standards when it comes to this stuff.
Was Blade removed from the displays? I thought they only removed Punisher because his logo was appropriated by the alt-right.
Also Deadpool was in Ultimate Spider-Man which also featured Wolverine in an episode
@legometaworld2728 I might be wrong about that, but I thought he was. Either way, Punisher definitely was, and that still supports what I said, regardless of the actual reasoning behind it.
@night6724 which is an example of how Deadpool wasn’t always so crude.
@@legometaworld2728 > Bro still believes in the "alt right" xD
The post credit scene for LMA Demolition is promising
They made Echo which is from a 18+ show. LEGO has just never been consistent with their policies. They made a JAWS set. They just don't want any backlash.
I think making Echo a mature show was a last minute decision Disney did. Lego didn’t know it was about to be mature
It’s ironic there’s a readily available punisher minifigure in a LEGO set who is a notoriously even more gruesome and vial character than Deadpool has ever been. But I think their excuse was that it was included in an 18+ set. Same reasoning for why daredevil was in that set too I think. So if we ever get a new Deadpool it’d probably have to be in an 18+ set. But also I think I heard Disney is denying LEGO deadpool and not completely LEGO themselves. Idk it could be a combination of the two.
That makes sense. Maybe Disney didn't see much value on Deadpool before his own movie and that's why they authorized Lego to use it in a set. But there were more Comic-Con Exclusives after the release of the film, so I'm not too sure...
I wouldn’t be surprised if Disney has an involvement in this since they denied Deadpool from showing up in X-Men 97 though not sure what the reason for that is.
@@SleepyMook my partner...the reason why Disney couldn't put Deadpool in X-Men '97 until further notice is they want him to be saved for a big surprise.
Film Makers: "Comic books are for kids, therefore the movies have to be for kids."
The rest of us: "Hold on comics were for kids maybe in the golden days, but your audience are all adults now. What are you talking about?!"
Years ago my cousin left his Deadpool minifig at my house and when I told him about it he let me keep it (he knew he’s my favorite character) and I still have it. I even gave it pistols from those call of duty megablocks sets. I really hope a new set includes Deadpool
I own the og dp fig which I bought a few years ago. It was a great purchase especially since I bought him for only $20, and he’s been probably my favorite character of all time (it makes me really sad it seems he’s gonna become one of those basic superheroes bc of dp3)
I really hope LEGO Deadpool will make a comeback in the next few years. Even if it’s a simple Deadpool or Wolverine mech that includes both characters, I’d still spend money for that
I don’t LEGO has a Deadpool problem… I think they have a rated R problem.
Maybe in the 2024 X-Men Mansion?🤔🤞
Probably not. It’s rumored to have 10 figures which probably wouldn’t fit.
I actually think Deadpool can work quite well in a pg13 avengers movie as long as he’s not focused on too much. I think him breaking the fourth wall, being aware that he can’t do the things he normally does because he’s in a pg13 movie would be funny.
They made a pg13 version of dp2 called once upon a deadpool where he uses a handheld beeper to bleep out the swearing, maybe that could make a comeback
@@IncognitoArson Maybe he could kidnap Fred Savage again too.
Worth pointing out that _neither_ Deadpool skin in Fortnite has a Lego Fortnite version (they also don't have a Fall Guys version but none of the licensed skins currently do). In spite of Lego releasing those alternate Deadpool figures at SDCC, the two combinations of Deadpool with classic Fortnite characters, Cuddlepool and Ravenpool also do not have Lego (or Fall Guys) versions in spite of all the other versions of Raven and Cuddle Team Leader (including their own combined form, Raven Team Leader) having them.
My thoughts are that I had no idea that the Lego Deadpool figure was so valuable... I got the set when it released so I'm now very pleased it's part of my collection
I'm honestly kinda pissed they aren't making another deadpool figure. Cause now I have to get knock-off Lego Deadpool from Amazon
i can still remember when i asked my dad if i could the deadpool set and he told me "its to much money for such an little set" :(
Yeah, the Deadpool figure, and the set it came with is quite pricey! But, if you had him look around for some custom printed figures of him, he'd find them cheap. And, there are some that are just.....Awesome! It's how I got my second one, because as much as I liked the original figure, it was rather basic.
I’d think a cool way to bring deadpool into the avengers movie is to have him narrate a story that he’s not apart of because he breaks the fourth wall. When the hero’s are fighting there’d be some comic like stuff drawn onto it, like the “snnkt” for wolverine.
I have that exact Lego Deadpool!
I had no clue it was the only one ever produced. I don't remember ever having a wolverine piece, but...I guess I did!
It's extremely disappointing that Fortnite didn't add the Lego version.
The Deadpool Game also went up in price as well
LEGO Set 76361:
Remains of Logan
If pharrel can have a lego movie with well known singers/rappers then Deadpool should get new legos.
Totally agree with you! Lego is missing out not having Deadpool set! I have high hopes for 2025!
I have my 2012 Deadpool on my fridge right now :) the set was brand new when i bought it at the Lego store in Chandler az
I bought a custom-made Deadpool figure for a friend of mine who collects anything and everything related to the character, and that cost me like 25 or 30 bucks. I knew it wasn't a real LEGO-made figure and assumed the Bricks and Minifigs store I bought it from thought it was, hence the high price (in my opinion). Although I thought it was a bit pricey, I figured it was the price I had to pay to put a smile on my friend's face without having to give up my own, original 2012 figure. I knew they had only made the one figure and that's why I've been hanging on to it, but I had no idea it was already worth over 5 times what the original set he came in sold for...
Deadpool wasn’t R rated in the comics. He was essentially PG with a very small and obscure MaX run . It was really the video game from 2013 that audiences began to associate him with mature content . By that point 2014 set would have been in production and based on comic PG version .
I’m so glad my cousin got me the set back in the day even though i barely knew who any of the characters were
They already did make a PG-13 Deadpool movie. "Once Upon a Deadpool". If he's part of the Avengers, I don't see a problem with toning him down. They can imply the violence off screen and the other characters can has a horrified look. Thor can be impressed. They can still show his 4th wall breaking but from the other character's point of view. He'd just be in the background facing away appearing to talk to himself making him look insane to the others and then they just tolerate it.
knowing lego, you're gonna have to spend a hundred dollars to get the figure anyways
I saw the title and thumbnail and my brain immediately went towards punisher’s depiction in Lego games.
The reason why they felt okay to make a LEGO Deadpool minifig in 2013 is because of the LEGO Marvel Superheroes Video Game
Jin custom Deadpool and Wolverine mini figs are solid. Pricey though
The most simpel thing would be Legopool. A very own variant, they can build up themselves.
thats such a cool idea, he could be family friendly too ahha
I mean if you step on a Lego you can come up with a couple Deadpoolisms
Lego is incredibly corporate. I was working for them when the last Spiderman came out.
They were complaining on internal platforms that the movie used the term "Legos" instead of "Lego bricks".
No Deadpool skin or any other skin based on Deadpool has a LEGO skin for LEGO Fortnite because LEGO insists on
"No violent LEGO skins"
which includes any skins including any kind of weapon
(such as a knife strapped to the ankle).
Ravenpool has a knife.
Cuddlepool has a knife.
The new Deadpool skin has a gun in a holster on his hip,
and a knife strapped to his ankle.
Why can't they just leave out the knife,
and put a chimichanga in the gun holster like Disney has their Disneyland Deadpool do at their park?
Iean, seriously, there's a character whose head is a bomb,
and his LEGO form has a 9-ball for a head because "Bombs are too violent".
So why not just make the Deadpool skins & skins based on Deadpool,
but WITHOUT any weapons on them?
I had to pay full price for only HALF of a skin?!
F*** you, LEGO.
I have that Lego Deadpool figure from that Xmen set. I never realized that was the only one they ever made and that he's so expensive and rare! O_O
Hasbro is giving us a whole wave of figures based off the Deadpool movies. Also on the toy aisle. Just don’t get it.
Hopefully they throw him the X- men mansion.
Fingers crossed
I got that set when I was younger for no apparent reason at all. I am so lucky to have him today. He is the only minifigure to break my rule on "No Non-lego" Equipment.
Dude, I remember wanting that Lego box so bad
Maybe they Will make a deadpool and wolverine set in the next 2 years like they did in with the lego spiderman no way home
I had that first set. You just made me feel old man.
Oh man I have to check my mini fig bin from when I was a kid because I remember having that helicopter set
I had that Deadpool and Wolverine set in like 3rd grade and I took just the Deadpool to school one day and some kid stole it and ngl that’s one of my biggest regrets
I think Lego should rerelease the minifig purely because it would upset everyone holding onto it.
I don’t know why Lego doesn’t just sort of include him as a sort of “cameo character” like how we got tons in the daily bugle set, which didn’t heavily emphasize on any R rated characters it still has them in the set- also Lego is making sets on Fortnite- a game where you have to kill other players with guns to win, it sucks we won’t see him in the upcoming mansion as a sort of gag character like how Kevin fiege was in the avengers tower set
To be honest, I personally feel their was an element of maturity/less aggressively r-rated tone of Deadpool & Wolverine, under Disney at the very end of the day.
I feel the film has given subtle potential for the charecter to return in Lego form...in alliance with existing movie merchandise/collectables, obviously all trademarked by Marvel Studios thus Disney.
Aside from minifigures, I will say a brickheadz 2 pack of both in the film would be pretty cool :)
Lego has SO MANY problems starting with their stupidly overpricing low quality sets. And their unbreakable will to use stickers in any set. Stickers in sets over 30 bucks is just pure greed. No quality just take the money at all cost
Back in 2020 I bought the whole deadpool set including the minifigs fully complete for $50. Best purchase ever.
wow thats so cheap!
I remember liking that Deadpool was in the set but it was confusing to me because Deadpool never fights magneto in the comics. I'm guessing Lego just thought another comic character would sweeten the set and they decided to give him a costume to make it more kid friendly.
I have a Lego Bob Ross/Deadpool mini fig. Never letting that thing go
they also removed him from the second lego marvel vidogame and replaced him with gwenpool
i currently have a major deadpool obsession
It doesn't fit the topic at the moment but I hope there will be fantastic four sets next year and if there will be any I have an idea for Mr Fantastic. They could use the arm piece from the first MS Marvel minifigure or use the long avatar legs and arms Because then it looks like he's just using his powers
Lego should have manned up and put Lego Deadpool and Lego Wolverine in the movie.
Lego doesn't like guns. I would assume that's their biggest hangup with Deadpool
It wouldn’t be hard to censor Deadpool but would definitely need to include him shutting production down to freak out about it, just for the “higher ups” offer him another movie/game/Lego set 😂
Had no idea my Deadpool figure had appreciated so much, last I looked it was 40 bucks
oh yeah definitely! If I had one I don't know whether I'd sell it or not!
Glad I kept the Deadpool figure from my helicopter set :)
Deadpool mech maybe?
Imagine they made a set based on the Deadpool variants fight. Several different Deadpools and a Wolverine and maybe a bus and food cart build
Listen I think we need to set the record straight they did it the one time in 2013 honestly Lego itself needs to let it go and just release another Lego Deadpool minifigure in a LEGO set series I mean after all they don't have to make a violent set if that's what Lego is afraid of so... For real no one's not going to pay $100 to get a 2013 Deadpool minifigure it will be a waste of time people are going to buy you know knock off Lego Deadpool minifigures
I bought a sealed copy of the Chopper Showdown (6866) two years ago for $125 and was worried I overpaid. A few years passing cured that concern.
If Lego made another deadpool figure they will probably release it in a £300+ set for adult collectors.
Like they did with the punisher.
i'm praying he's in the x mansion set that got leaked recently
@@J03L- my man, yep. The same can be applied with not just one, but five potential add-ons to the LEGO Icons family: WWE (because of well, I can imagine everyone's reactions that peeps like John Cena, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker and Roman Reigns will finally be here in LEGO form because of well, it's about time to Cue the Flying Pigs), Final Fantasy (mainly with Final Fantasy VII, although that doesn't mean Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy X can't be covered), Street Fighter, Tekken and The King of Fighters (starting with Fatal Fury and fortunately, Mai Shiranui does have an Outfit that would be good enough to be worn for her more Family-friendlier appearances because of well, she Wears a Biker Outfit in which, wouldn't be too bad for her to show up in LEGO form without any problems...albeit with the Cleavaged being covered by a Red Top and fortunately, it won't be a bad thing).
they made several Wolverine minifigs, a character who is equally if not more R-rated and violent than Deadpool. So why wont they just make a new deadpool minifig
Lego havent "refused" to make anything. They just dont have the license. Now that Deadpool is a Disney IP again, that will change
2:07 that’s a flat out lie, studios keep pushing it but the vast majority of comic books and films fans are in their late teens to mid 20s this is probably true for toy sales too.
I think they are trolling us! XD
I found a fantastic minifig copy for 3 euros including sending for my kid!
idk why they dont just make an 18+ set based on deadpool
"I really want a deadpool minifigure and would rather not spend $100 to get one"
watch them put him in a $100 set
DP also has a large "chibi" following, sort of the way Pop Vinyls "cute-ified" franchises that are definite R-rated content. my favorite one of these is the chibi DP flipping through a box of comics with the talk bubble, "I have issues." my point is that there's a significant crossover with "chibi Dead Pool" and the "baby yoda" crowd. for that reason, I would have expected Lego to work its way into the DP craze. however, it's worth noting that a lot of these "chibi DP" are not directly related to the hard-R Ryan Reynolds movies. And in my experience (90s-2000s) DP was NOT as aggressively R-rated as the Reynolds movies. I can't speak to his comics portrayal in the past two decades, but for me, he was an edgier Spider-man that still fit into 90s/2000s X-Men comics w/o needing to circumvent the comics code or age-restrict his stuff the way, say, Image comics or the DC mature stuff did.
Doesn’t LEGO make 18+ LEGO sets, what if they make a 18+ LEGO Deadpool set?
I was literally just thinking to myself how Lego will probably never touch Deadpool as a standard figure again lol
Seriously??? They didn’t even include LEGO Deadpool in Fortnite? That’s insane.
I have the og from 2012 and had no idea that it war rare, damn
Lego could literally make any kind of vehicle for a Lego Deadpool set cause you can just say he stole and repainted it and it makes perfect sense. Give him a red painted James Bond car and people will have no issue.
"I wanted to paint it red but I couldn't find enough goats- signed Deadpool"
lego only make sets based on the movies now so makes sense why they don’t make any deadpool ones because it’s R-rated, they need to bring back the more comic book inspired ones
Jaws was rated PG
There was no PG13 back then
@@night6724 i know, but that movie should have to be rated R
