Just picked up Il Etait Un Bois at Neiman Marcus a few weeks ago. Enjoying it tremendously! The buckwheat accord adds an interesting twist to what could be a run of the mill woody scent. I was torn between this and the floral fruitiness of Fables d'Orient. Sprayed one on each back of hand and over the next hour of shopping I kept sniffing and while both were gorgeous in their own ways, Il Etait was just so fascinating.
Oh, kasza gryczana note got me intrigued! I really enjoy grain notes in perfume, like rice in Mona di Orio Dōjima or wheat in Jeux de Peau. I'm putting this on my to test list, but that might not happen for a while, as L'artisans have become quite hard to get here in Poland, unfortunately.
Alas couldn't make the live. I'm commenting before you've smelt the scent. I got a sample with a full bottle gift of Tea for Two. I liked it but it seemed to be lacking something and I felt was a bit weak.
‘ Let us spray’ that’s a Sunday ritual I can fully subscribe to.
Amen.
Blessed be the sprayers.
May you walk in spray.

I agree that it’s quite intriguing in certain stages of its development.
Thanks for watching.

If you do manage to try it, please let me know what you think of it.
Nice review! I tried this - the intersection of Bois Farine and Timbuktu falls close to Hermes' Vetiver Tonka, though I prefer this one.
Ah, good point. I should dig out my sample of VT.
If they ever make a second edition of Timbuktu, they should name it Timbuktwo.
Ha! Classic.
Thank you very much for your review, it seems to fit in l'AP portfolio. Does it resembles Méchant Loup too by any chance?
Ah, good question. From memory, I’d say No.
I love listening to your videos!
Thank you very much indeed.

It's certainly very quiet. Enjoy Tea For Two.

Thanks for watching.
Bois Farine is my most favorite from this house.
I love that one too.
