She's now my most anticipated hero. With how self contained Shield is, I think Sinister Motives+Agents of Shield will become the easiest way to get a strong archetype without buying anything else. Those two standalone expansions complement each other perfectly due to Miles Shield deck.
Oh yes i totally agree. And honestly a lot of these aspect SHIELD cards can be played with any hero not even being trait locked. I’m excited to see cool deckbuilds with that

Good breakdown. I think with 'The Hard Call' you glossed over the fact that the damage is applied to all enemies in play. Its situational, but definitely something that can get you out of a bad situation (and stronger with higher player counts).
Moving the counters is going to be fun. I feel like justice and Monica Chang being able to get extra supports out to move more counters is going to be great!
One thing that im not sure you touched on is that she can play the 6 card supports on turn 1 even without doubles! Looking forward to seeing you pliot this new hero in February.
Also I find it really funny that you forgot what all purpose counters are (their even the name of the tokens used in every game lol) but you remembered the name and effect of the field agent support card from memory. That example just perfectly sums up us card players as a community 😂😭
Iliad turn one could be crazy. If other players play shield supports you can just borrow their counters too, keeping it topped up the whole game. 4 threat every turn especially is super strong

6 costs might just be a little hard to do sometimes but they are absolutely worth it. Get them counters with On The Double and you can just have those supports all game! Now I gotta see how they're gonna do Fury!
Yea we’ll have to see if it’s too much of a tempo hit to play those supports. If she can get them down and not be too far behind it’ll be solid. I’m very excited for Fury now 👌🏻
@@drcolossus1 Yes but usually I’d prefer to play at least 2 cards per turn. Like playing an Avengers Mansion + ally means we have economy, can thwart/attack then chumpblock. If Hill plays the Iliad she won’t have a blocker that turn and could get unlucky with Caught Off Guard etc
@@webwarriorfanatic You could always stay in Alter-Ego to avoid needing chump block, then Iliad can remove 4 threat. I'm not so high on economy terminology, but 4 threat is akin to paying for a 2/3 cost event so almost like playing another card. Caught off guard could also take out your Avengers Mansion. But i get your point, playing multiple cards is normally better.
I'm excited to see if we finally get counter support in aspect (ie, deal 4 damage. If this defeats an enemy, add a counter to your hero). IMO this could be a sweet archetype for heroes like Groot, and it's a design space MC has yet to explore

Praying the six cost vehicles for Aggression and Justice are just as good. She looks really good, Im pretty sure with things like Agent 13, moving counters, and refreshing supports you can get some very satisfying combo kill turns. My only fear with this hero is that the community gets myopic and falsely declares her solved when a decent list shows up on Marvelcdb.

I see alot of people saying how good grabbing The Iliad turn 1 and using your entire hand to play it will be but I thought that sounded meh, because in a tempo game like MC using your entire resources to play one card is cursed lol

Maria hill looks amazingly fun. I don't think she will be as OP as people seem to think. But she will be good, and a lot of fun. A really interesting puzzle to solve, and I can't wait to give her a shot.
It’s hard to say how harsh of a tempo hit those unique supports will be. If she can get everything set up she’ll be unstoppable, but maybe the buildup phase will be rough enough to balance. She does look very very fun either way
What are your thoughts on what she will do with resource cards? I wonder if it will be viable to add a power of…resource depending on her aspect as well as power in all of us. She may have a lot of expensive cards in her deck which would necessitate a lot of resources..hmm…
She has identity specific doubles which are really good for her. The new leadership double also looks pretty good and some people are suggesting ‘pool resources
Im pretty excited. Ive been clamouring for a hero that really buffs the traditional playstyle. Im interested to see what you think when you get her to table as she doesn't seem like your style. Definitely not bursting VG down in one turn.

Not sure yet since we don’t know the contents, but i would bet it’s a good first expansion in terms of card pool/villain variety. My only reserve is since it’s a more new release, mechanics may be a little complex for newer players.
I really like she's S.H.I.E.L.D and Spy on both sides. I enjoy the alter-ego challenges; trying to stay in alter-ego for the whole game, and it looks she could pull it off.

Totally agree with the thematics. Personally I think her deckbuilding will be versatile too, Field Agent and Circe for an ally centric build with her hero ability, or a support focus build

@@wkylegreen if you’re playing Maria Hill in ‘Pool for example, if you put 1x The Iliad in the deck you can still put 3x Command Team and 3x Surveillance Team. That would max out any cards outside of the ‘Pool aspect when deckbuilding

She looks fun, but how many different builds will she have? Seems like she’s designed to just put all shield cards in her deck, regardless of her “aspect”.
I think she has different playstyles which will require a different selection of cards. Going with a heavy ally build with Field Agents/Circe vs focusing on the Iliad and readying vs focusing on statuslock with the unique 6 cost protection support. A lot of the unique supports are so expensive i feel focusing and building around 1 or 2 lets the player customize more

It is worth noting The CIrce puts allies into play from hand, it does NOT play that ally from your hand. Certain triggers will care about this. Spider-Man:Peter Parker is one of these. You will NOT get the on play benefit for putting Spider-Man into play with Circe. Also I think it's pronounced SER-see, its a reference to Greek Mythology just like the other unique carrier.

You should be able to play them whenever you are in alter ego right? Hand size of 6, then go grab one from your deck using AE ability. So pays for it.

Basically, she can move any of those counters are cards. Being able to keep Hawkeye loaded will be nice.
I think it’s only supports though so the Hawkeye ally won’t be able to refill arrows, unfortunately :(
