Building Goblins are so much fun.
I'm just back in the saddle after the Newport-Bermuda race (and the sail back to Newport). I'll be posting some massive videos from that trip, soon. About time to fly my helis. I've been gone since June 13th.

Fantastic Video of another Incredible SAB Heli! It may have a few shortcomings when it comes to extreme smack 3D Flying with 12S but as far as I'm concerned... it could be one of the Best Heli's ever made! The first 6S, 700 size Heli and it's beautiful. I have a brand new built but never flown SAB Goblin 570 S DRAKE with full size BK Servos, 7002HV & 7006 HV Tail Servo, Hobbywing Platinum Pro 120A V4 ESC, X NOVA 4025-1120kv Motor, iKON 2 FBL, Pulse Defender Battery Backup System. I love my DRAKE & don't want to sell my 2nd 570 S Heli.
I have stayed away from 600, 700, 800 size Heli's because I have tried to avoid the cost of 12S Batteries on top of everything else. I Love the Puima and I'm so tempted to buy a kit and use my Electronics to make a great 6S, 700 sized Heli... Thanks for sharing your fantastic video's! Stay Safe and Healthy and May the 4th be with You! ❤️🙏💙

It’s definitely not a smack 3-D monster. But for your normal 3-D flying it is fantastic. Or at least I hope lol I have not gotten a maiden yet but soon! It’s nice you can run a single 6s pack! running 12s in this one but still staying 2000 RPM head speed. Should be a fantastic flyer! 12s packs can be expensive but! You could always run to sixes packs and that way you have two batteries for your 6S Heli‘s! I do it both ways! I run two sixes packs and a 12 S pack. Depending on the day and what I have charged lol but 12s stick packs are much easier. Have a safe and happy 4th!

@@westhobbiesrc8051 Thank you very much. Quite a few of my friends have at least one already and they fly 12S and Love the Heli. You should be able to get a longer flight time with a lower headspeed and still get the same Performance. I've got 5 or 6, Battery Packs for every one of my Helis. If I go to the Field I would take 2 Blade 230S V1 & V2 with 6 Batteries, a Trex 450 Plus DFC with 5 Batteries, a Goblin 380 K.S.E & a 570 Drake with 5 Batteries for each and a Trex 150 DFC with 6 Batteries. If I bring my Charge Case & my small Generator, I'm there all day and if it's busy, I can fly my 150 DFC in the Parking lot. lol. With 1 round of Charging through my Para Boards, I'm just over 2 hours of flight time and if I charge them before I leave then it's 4 hours of flying. A friend told me today that she flew 12 1/2 minutes on 1 battery, flying her Whiplash 730. I love to fly but it's difficult for me to fly for 4 hours.
As you know, it you lose concentration for 10 seconds it can easily be a $60 - $200 fix and haven't we all had enough of those days?
😂😂 Stay well and I look forward to the rest of your Goblin Puima build video's. Enjoy my friend, BTW... I'm Larry, from Toronto, Canada.

I know a few people with a piuma it's a amazing heli. For 6s you probably want a 150A esc. A friend of mine is pulling peaks of around 230 and hitting thermal and Amp shutdown on his HW130a. I use the HW 150a v5 in my raw 580. It's a great esc and gives the option to run 8s.
6s is pretty hard on the packs with the piuma. You need some beefy batteries and even wirh lower headspeed flight times aren't great.
Personally I'd go 7 or 8s with it

@@larrychamel The main reason for going 12s was to ease on the electronics. 6s on a 700 puts a lot of strain on the battery’s and ESC. Same with 550 size birds. 6s pull a lot more amps but if gear right you can get a happy medium. I would definitely look at going maybe 8s on yours? It will be easier on the packs but I know you don’t wanna run two packs. I would probably go with a 150 for the ESC just to be safe. Thanks for watching!

The video shows using the 2nd hole in the Base Tail Belt Tensioner, but the manual shows using the 3rd hole.

It can really go in any of the holes. It’s all preference on how tight you want that tensioner spring to be. I’ve built a few of them so I like it on the second hole but if you want a stronger tensioner you can move it to the third or fourth.
