- Andrew King talks about a 1931 Great Lakes biplane that he is ferrying across the country. He started in California and made many stops before he arrived at the Deweydrome in Ohio. He does a walk around of the aircraft and at the end we have a little air to air. #aviationlovers #biplane #flying #greatlakes #aircraftpropulsionlectures

ANDREW seriously needs to host a podcast. Such a great voice. And would love to hear a show centered around vintage aircraft and the history of aviation, etc..
Andrew has had quite a bit written about his flying lately! I certainly wish I had my Great Lakes back. Thank you for taking the time to share and keep real flying alive.
Andrew is definitely a one of a kind person, for sure. He is such a great guy.
You guys are my spirit animals. 😂
It’s always a pleasure and an education watching Dewey and Andrew, thank you both.
Thanks for watching. I know it gets a little long on the tooth watching. Lol
It's a great day when a Dewey-Andrew video shows up! Thanks.
That is definitely a gorgeous aircraft for sure! Someone did an amazing job restoring it. Andrew is such a wealth of knowledge, I could listen to him all day talk about airplanes. If I don't see you before the Barnstorming Carnival I'll definitely see you there for sure. I'm glad to see you back on here. By the way great job on the edit. The music at the end was perfect. Thanks for sharing the videos and blue skies brother.
That thing is gorgeous!
Nice to see you again Dewey. Very interesting video, you guys have so much knowledge 😊
Andrew has all the knowledge. I'm just learning from him.
My dad restored a '78 homebuilt Great Lakes with an O320. We brought it to the barnstormer carnival a couple years ago. Great video!
I thoroughly enjoy the history lessons Andrew always brings with each aircraft he flies into the Deweydrome! Keep the history alive gents!
GOOD TO SEE YOU BACK DEWEY!
Thank you. I'll try to keep up
It WAS Ernst Kessler that first performed the outside loop -- last week in Kansas City... :) Love your Videos! Thanks Dewey!
Yay! Another Dewey video. Always appreciate Andrew sharing the life history of a vintage aircraft. Very cool!
Another wonderful history lesson. Thanks Andrew and Dewey!
I'm still hoping to find an original Great Lakes like my grandfather had. It was black and orange with a Menasco engine and had a tail skid. He bought it new and flew it from his strip in Dyersville, Iowa.
They might fly better with a radial but they looked better to me with the Menasco.
This Great Lakes was on the market recently on Barnstormers. I drooled over it because I have always hoped to own a Warner powered Great Lakes. I was never quite able to afford a Great Lakes but managed to own two nice Citabria airplanes plus six Cubs and a very nice Luscombe 8F. I also owned a flew a Spezio Tuholer and two Baby Ace airplanes. All this was back in the late 1970s and 1980s. I am 70 now. Guy in Columbia Mississippi
Love It! Thanks!
….do a ferrying video, would love to hear those stories..
Ernie Gann soloed a 80hp Inverted Cirrus powered Great Lakes that came from the Ryan School of Aeronautics
NC12887. Took him 18 hours at age 26
Harold Crier used to fly in air shows around here.(Wichita)
Congrats, another great and informative video.
Marvelous,,,,
Thanks for watching. Really appreciate it
LOVE this 🙂 Miss your video's Dewey. Please make more! How's the "barnstorming" farm doing ? Loved those episodes ! 🙂
Another great video. What a nice airplane and love the sound of that engine.
see you at the Barnstormers show
I hope so.. hope it will be a great time, like always
For the uninitiated, the engine baffles they are talking about are part of the NACA cowl on the airplane. That cowl revolutionized aviation in the 1930s and was still relatively new technology in 1931.
Thanks for the great video on the Great Lakes! I started the Great Lakes Facebook group and have an homebuilt Great Lakes project. Good history Andrew. Betty Skelton had a Kinner on her Lakes
i could listen to you guys all day, thanks ....that was great
Glad to see some new content. Always a fun video.😊
Back in the late eighties, I rented one in milwaukee for a little dual with their acrobatics instructor.
Me too, in Hayward CA early eighties. It still had the pilot to pilot Gosport tube communication in it. Felt like flying back in the early twenties !
Hard work on the arms, though, with four ailerons to wrestle with , after an hour.
Sucks I missed it...😢
Hey Dewey, How is it going... I'm still restoring the Clipper!
314 clipper?
Are you getting close?
