@@janew5351 We planted around 5 large hills with 5 plants per hill. We had a stand of volunteers as well....maybe 10 to 15 more plants in that stand. The approximate 200 is what is left after using a bunch and giving large amounts to family. We ended the harvest with 323 delicata squash. They are small-ish but oh so sweet....and they were crazy productive.
Praying for Rachel and Todd ♥️ I canned butternut squash for the first time a couple of years ago for baby food for my grandbaby No sugar , salt or additives 🎉 she ate it up!! I also did carrots and other veggies and fruits!! Wish I would have thought outside the box when my kids were in the baby food stage 💗
The squash looks so pretty in jars and it seems like with chicken broth it would be almost an instant soup. An immersion blender and some heavy cream and spices and it’s ready to enjoy! I think I know what I’m canning next. I’m really enjoying Canuary! Thanks for hosting and sharing.
I didn't have pumpkin fir a pie, but I had butternut! I used my butternut squash for the pie! 😋 yummy Edit: I don't have any jars left empty, so I'm dehydrating carrots, potatoes, onion, and I made egg noodles and dehydrating since egg prices continue to skyrocket. I'll still have homemade egg noodles already made! 😁
One year having planted plenty of carrots, but no pumpkin due to garden space, for Thanksgiving I used carrots in lieu of pumpkin for our pie 🥧 my six children still gobbled it up, as did the neighbors I shared with😋 I am now eager to try butternut squash pie😁👍
I am loving this series. All the different channels educating everyone. Because of Ms. Leisa and others that I have been following for about two years I have bought a water bath canner then a steam canner which I absolutely love and bought a pressure canner. Hoping this year to actually use it. Thank you to everyone who is participating in this series.
Not a huge squash fan but you have intrigued me. Without you, I would not be canning right now. You have inspired me to ensure that I have food security in my retirement. Thank you!
An ice cream scoop works great! The kind without the “spring handle”. I cut both ends off, peel while it’s whole, cut in half lengthwise then take the dang seeds out.
I ran out of butternut squash at Thanksgiving! There's been NONE, fresh, frozen, soups, canned in any of the stores, either! I'll be saving this for harvest, this year! THANK YOU
Years ago my favorite winter squash was acorn. And THEN I tasted butternut. It’s been my favorite since then. When I had a garden, 3 seeds planted on a mound gave me an abundance of harvest (miss those days). Last winter I canned butternut with a few cranberries added. It was a nice addition. Thanks for the collaboration. EPIC!
Prayers for Rachel and Todd. Thank you again for organizing this collaboration. I canned butternut squash for the first time this fall after watching a previous video you posted and even added some cranberries to a few jars per your suggestion. This is my first year to catch Canuary from the beginning. I'm enjoying it so much
I love butternut squash and plan to plant them this season. Thank you for the recipe. And thank you Fourjars for sponsoring Canuary and being so ethical and generous to us canners.
Praying for Rachel and Todd, we are really enjoying the Canuary 2023, it has been my husband and I’d unwind and reconnect moment to watch the video together at night. ❤
Hi Leisa! I canned squash for the first-time last season and will never be without it. Thank you for putting the Canuary collaboration together it's my favorite! Thank you to For Jars for sponsoring as well as all the channels participating. Sending love and prayers for Rachel and Todd.

Leisa thank you for Canuary. This is my first time and am really enjoying it. I am learning new "tricks" with every video I watch. Shout out to Forjars and their sponsoring this Canuary.
Hubbards, butternut, butter cup squash are my all-time favorite! I remember we always had to store these in the fruit seller and the mice would sometimes get to them before we would! thank you for this video, learning so much from these! and thank you Leisa and forjars for this month collaboration!
Thank you Leisa for all you do for this crazy canning community! You're the best! I have 4 butternuts left from this summer...you've inspired me to go ahead and "jar 'em up"! Ha!
Thank you Leisa for coming up with canuary. I am a new canner and love the great ideas being presented by everyone. Thank you all for sharing your time and recipes with us.
Canning it in chicken broth!!! How smart! The smallest of things you never think of and feel like a goober when you hear someone say it. Thank you for your time making the video!

Brilliant use of a used canning lid to scrape out the seeds. Again it is these little tips that help us in a pinch. I LOVE butternut squash (yep more than pumpkin). This being my first Canuary and learning all these new recipes (I am a visual learner so having video is a HUMONGOUS help. Thank you Lisa for putting all these recipes and this entire event! Last January I found these videos and was so disappointed that I didn't have pressure canning supplies, I spent the year gathering a pressure canner and many more jars. I even got some of the forjars lids. This year I was struck with the inspiration again when I seen the Canuary videos and have enjoyed doing some of my own preserving. Thank you to everyone who puts these videos out, you are all inspirational.
I didn't plant winter squash because it doesn't keep well downstairs so I'm glad to have this . Love this canuary so glad I found it. Thank you! I found it on 1870 homestead!! Thanks Rachel!
Thank you so so much for putting "your" Canuary!! I look forward to Canuary every year. You connect us with so many wonderful canning people with the most yummy ideas!

Thank you for this video and for putting Canuary 2023 together for all of us. I also want to thank you and FORJARS for the opportunity to win one of those amazing prizes...... Again THANKS
We grew butternut squash and pumpkins this year as our dog has to have some in his food each day (what I do for the 4 legged kid🙄). We ended up freezing it in a puree as it was easier for me than peeling it. I also volunteered to haul away all the pumpkin decorations in my daughter's development so I won't have to grow squash this year lol. The chickens were happy with the rest of the pumpkin remains. Thanks again Leisa for pulling all this together for us and to forjars for joining in. I love the forjars lids!
I'm so happy to see someone can winter squash. It sucks up so much of my freezer space and then I end up feeding squash to the animals when it gets away from me. Now I can have it on the shelf.
I appreciate all of your videos! I've just recently started canning and your videos are so helpful and detailed! Thank you for helping me start a family tradition I hope to pass on for generations!
