Yep. Des is the best metal drummer I've ever heard, and there's some good ones. He's so fast and knows just when to fill and crash those cymbals. Gonna miss his contribution to the band, for sure.

Hung, drawn, and quartered was KILLER! That drumming reminds of of some scott ashton, mixed with some bill ward, a bit of motörhead, a sprinkle of melvins…..so rad. Just that consistent floor tom assault. Overkill by motörhead, search and destroy by the stooges, sabbath was full of it. Love the caveman approach to playing

This is the High on Fire at its .. well, not to say its best, but this period is where they peaked their unique crazy riffing.. also this bass player suited them so much... umm wish I could be more articulated.. it was just so right.

Not only is Matt Pike an absolute legend, Des Kensel is one of my favorite drummers. An absolute beast on the kit.
Don't forget George Rice and Jeff Matz. KILLER chest-pounding bass. Joe was alright, but not as decimating
honestly I think it's ridiculous how fast they are playing these songs. it's even faster than the albums. Des is a beast.

Imo this is the peak of the band. Not to say they've not released any other good stuff but you can't top the art of self defense
